Trucker (Bones MC 6)

Before she could completely come down, he crawled up her body and slipped inside her little cunt once again, fucking her in long, hard, demanding strokes until he could feel her breaths coming in little gasps as she began to climb that mountain once again. This time, when she crested, she took him with her into oblivion. Trucker came so hard his vision blurred, and he saw stars around the edges. Both of them shouted their pleasure as he exploded inside her once again.
This time, he had no idea how he was going to manage to get to the bathroom to clean them both. Thank God he’d left the washcloth on the bedside table. He rolled off her and gently washed his seed from her before wiping his dick and tossing the soiled cloth into the bathroom.
Trucker pulled Helen into his arms, clasping her to him tightly. Her hand rested on his chest and her warm breath fanned over his skin. It was contentment unlike anything in his experience. It was… love.
They lay like that so long, Trucker thought she’d drifted to sleep, but then she stirred. “I found out your name,” she said softly. “It’s William. Isn’t it?”
He kissed her forehead. “Yeah. William Norvac. Data tell you?”
“I did some digging on my own,” she teased, nipping his chest. “You’re an engineer.”
“I am. Got a degree from MIT, for all the good it does me.”
“Why’d you join the Marines after you graduated? You could have worked anywhere in the world you wanted.”
“True.” He nodded. “But that wasn’t my callin’. I was born to be a soldier. I used my talents to serve my country. I met Cain in the service and been followin’ him ever since.”
“I’ve been thinking, and I’ve come up with a name for the baby,” she said, throwing Trucker. She was nervous, he could tell. Probably why she changed the subject so abruptly.
“Have you then. Well…” He sifted his hands through her hair, trying to soothe her. “Let’s hear it.”
“I thought I’d name her Willa.” She peeked up at him. “After the man I’d like to be her father figure.”
Trucker stilled. His heart pounded. God, he couldn’t bungle this! “Willa, huh.”
“Yeah.” She was practically holding her breath. Trucker needed to speak, but couldn’t for the lump in his throat. If she didn’t mean what he thought she meant, he was getting ready to make an ass out of himself.
“Willa sounds an awful lot like William. Don’t suppose you had another William in mind, did you?”
“Um, no.” Her voice was soft. Hesitant. “I was hoping you’d take on the job. You know. Unless Cain keeps you too busy in Bones.”
“I think I can work around anything Cain needs from me.” He urged her to look at him, pinching her chin with his thumb and forefinger. When she met his gaze with her wide-eyed green one, Trucker smiled at her. “It would be my sincerest honor to be a father to her, Helen. Just don’t expect her to date until she’s at least forty. You remember that, and we’ll be all good.”
Helen giggled, but let out a harsh breath. “Oh, Trucker!” She wrapped her arms around him, and he felt her hot tears on his bare flesh.
“Shh, baby,” he soothed. “That’s supposed to make you happy.”
“I am happy! So very happy!”
“So, I have a question for you, now.”
“OK.”
Trucker let go of her long enough to roll over and fumble in the nightstand drawer. Fishing out a tiny box, he opened it and handed it to her. Inside was a ring set of diamonds and dark blue sapphires. The main stone in the engagement ring was the blue sapphire. On either side, diamonds were set into a braided pattern with smaller sapphires in the gathers of the braid. The wedding band was the same only without the larger stone in the center. They were stunning.
“When did you get this?” Helen breathed, her gaze transfixed on the ring.
“Ordered it made right after the storm broke. Wanted to have it ready when you were ready.”
She lifted her head and tears glistened on her lashes, shaming the diamonds in her ring. “How’d you know I was ready?”
“Well, naming your daughter after me wasn’t a subtle clue.”
A laugh burst from her, a short bark of amusement before she sniffled. For long, long moments, she just looked at him. She didn’t have to say anything. Trucker could see the love shining in her eyes.
“I love you, Trucker. I think I have from the moment you picked me up and carried me so carefully out of that RV.”
“Hell, I lost my heart the first moment I laid eyes on you. You scared me to death, but I couldn’t get you out of my heart. Didn’t want to.”
He lowered his head and kissed her, sweeping his tongue inside her mouth to dance with hers. “I love you so fuckin’ much, Helen.”
Her fingers tugged at his hair, fisting there and holding him close to her. “Love you, too,” she said between kisses.
Then, they proceeded to show each other exactly how much.
