“A lucky one, too. I’d imagine most women who fall for shapeshifters have to deal with them having no control over when it happens or even maintaining their human consciousness. But me—well, if we wind up having kids and they happen to be shapeshifters, too, imagine all we can do for them. We can help them not only control what they do, but use it for good, too, like their dad.”
“Any kids like that ought to have parents who are happily married. So, Doctor Harding, will you?”
“Are you proposing, Major Connell?”
“Guess so. I love you, Melanie.” He sounded so serious that she smiled.
“I love you, too.” She burrowed into his waiting arms. “You sure Grunge won’t mind if we get married?” she asked against his mouth. “Or your wolf form?”
“How could they resist having a vet in the family?
