Beauty of Man and Woman - Volume 13: Bomaw

Five days had gone by since she’d moved into the upstairs flat above the shop at the edge of town. In that period of time, he’d wasted no time going to work. Leaving the last farm, he’d finally waited long enough to see Virginia alone. She was heavy on his mind, in fact, she was all that was on his mind - plus he’d been paid. Since the money he made wouldn’t make a dent in what was owed his father, he took every cent of it with him to Virginia. Knocking softly on the door up the back stairs to the shop, Jacob waited. After the third gentle knock, he heard her asking softly from the other side of the door. “Who is it?”
“It’s Jacob, Ginny - I come to see you, please… can I come in?”
He could hear her unlocking the door from the other side for him. Opening it, Jacob could see that she’d been in bed, had been asleep. Her hair was tousled, arousing him all the more. She backed up, “Come on in.” She invited him, trying to fix her hair, smoothing and patting it into place.
“That was a waste of time, Ginny.” He whispered grabbing her to him, pressing her tightly against his body at the same time he pushed her door close behind them, locking it as he murmured, “I can’t keep myself from you. You know I want you. Please tell me-…”
Ginny grabbed his shirt front pulling him down to her, to lay upon him full lips needing to be kissed. Jacob’s response was immediate. His erection was so powerful, the urges of his body so overwhelming, the pressure of her against him so electrifying it caused his sensitivity to bring on a premature ejaculation as they stood in a grappling and desperate need to mate. His face flamed with shame as his father’s words came to him about his gulping and rushing. He couldn’t help himself. “I’m so - sorry Ginny, forgive me, I-…” he gulped, his heart hammered like mad. “I - couldn’t hold myself,” He panted at her ear, holding her tight against him. “I swear to you, I - I ah do better, I swear…” he panted, his strong arms crushing her, hurting her slender body. “Just give me some - some time, I - I’ah do better.” He pleaded with his large hand tightly gripping a full round buttocks as he rubbed his steel erection against her. Even though he’d just prematurely relieved himself, he was still hard. He couldn’t stop the moaning and pumping that released more semen into his underclothes. It embarrassed him - but he couldn’t stop it. “Say you’ah give me one more-…”
She cut him off, “Shhh - shhh - shhh, it’s okay… it’s okay.” Ginny soothed him. That’s all she could do, because he was too strong to break free from. When the sensation of the release passed, his tall body folded over her, pulling her up his frame until her feet were off the floor, tucking his face into her neck, “You forgive me-…”
She wrapped her arms around him, “Ain’t nothin’ to forgive,” she breathed hanging there as he hugged her, stroked her back. “But - you might wanna… put me down, so I can show you … my - my room. Wanna - wanna see my room?” She panted, almost out of breath from the grip that his long arms had on her. She’d never been held so tightly before in her life. It was as if he was trying to meld them together as one. It took a moment for him to hear her words. Slowly his head lifted away from her neck, to look into her eyes. He then nodded his head, gulping, “Yes please… I’d love to… t’see your room.”
Ginny held on tight, her back rubbing against the friction of her sheets. The joints of her thighs ached. Her body was covered in sweat. The tunnel at the juncture of her thighs was being jammed, pounded and abused with the power of his thrusts. He couldn’t get enough. She tried to keep up with him at first. Now, she was dizzy. She was tired. She was worn out and trying to hold on. He was all over her. His hands touching her, grasping the perfectly rounded portions of her bottom. His mouth went from kissing her mouth, his tongue almost down her throat, to pulling away to nibble at her skin, her neck, her shoulders, one side and then the next as he had her. Ginny had actually felt her eyes cross from the seemingly unending onslaught of his need to possess her, so hard - she was on the verge of not being able to take anymore. Finally, for the fourth time that night and the final time, he ejaculated deep within her.
She hurt.
He was a big boy in more ways than one.
After the second time of her finding pleasure from his administrations, she’d been done.
Not Jacob. It would seem, he had saved up for this moment and was getting it all out of his system now. He fell beside her, breathing hard - swallowing deep, sucking in deep gulps of air - his head turned aside to look at his Ginny. She didn’t seem to have the strength left to open her eyes and look at him.
“Ginny? Ginny, you… you okay?”
“Can’t no more t’night Jacob, no more t’night.” She gasped softly, winded and fatigued.
He stared at her a few moments. Before he’d gotten a hold of her, her hair had been smooth, waved and in a tousled style. Now, it was frizzy, changed, in a damp puff of sorts. He leaned up on his elbow, touching her hair. It was soft and damp. Her skin was glistening from perspiration. The moon was shining in her window, casting a bluish hue that shone clear down her body with the part in her curtains. Wishing to sooth and comfort her, his large hand went to her flattened breast, to caress gently.
“Can’t no more Jacob.” She whispered worried.
“I’m sorry Ginny, I - I couldn’t help myself. Couldn’t stop myself. Something took over me and I - I couldn’t let you go, I couldn’t… stop it. My God… I - I never knew it could be this way, I never knew. I won’t no more, not tonight. Not tonight. I hurt you Ginny, I - I hurt you?”
“Shhh, it’s okay… it’s okay.” She soothed him, “It’s late Jacob, I - I gotta get some sleep. Gotta be up for my girls.”
“I know… I know. Don’t want them catching me here. Not like this. I - I been working Ginny. I’ve got money for you. I’m gonna take care of you Ginny. Good care of you. I promise you, I’ll always take care of you. Just - don’t let nobody else, do to you what I do. Please? Is that wrong of me, t’want you all to myself?”
She turned her head to him finally, smiling - she opened her eyes. Her hand rose and softly stroked his rough cheek. His sharp whiskers had chaffed her everywhere. “Don’t want nobody else Jacob. I just want you. You see about me and mine, protect us, I’ll always be yours, and yours alone. I swear.”
He leaned down and kissed her, hugged her close to him. She dozed off while he’d been holding her. When she woke, he was gone. That morning after a bath and soak, she dressed herself, feeling proof that a man had had hold of her that night. Making her bed, under the pillow he’d used, she found Fifty dollars. She couldn’t believe her eyes. That was a lot of money. She took it to her secret jar and added it to other money she had from him, and a bit that she’d earned.
During the day, she worked in the shop.
Doing hair and making clothes.
Lida Bell did indeed get her customers.
The entertainment highlight of most at that time took place at the local dance hall. Every weekend, there was a dance, and the dances that were most turned out for, surrounded the Christmas dance, or the New Year’s Eve dance. At one time, Virginia would have been working at the dance hall. Now, because of the, Bell of the Ball she was busy making new dresses and gowns. Doing hair for those who wanted to show up sporting the latest fashion trend look. Virginia was so busy, she hired Bonita to help her sew. Because Bonita was as good as Virginia when it came to a machine - if not better in some styles, it worked out to help her fill orders.
To Virginia’s surprise, in the back, the shack that was there - Jacob came and went as he could, slowly turning it into a decent place for her to do black hair. He did the best that he could for her. Seeing it made her fall even deeper for him, as she knew he’d fallen for her. He didn’t have to say that he was in love with her, it was in the way that he treated her in stolen moments late in the night, and in his every deed during the day.
As the laws of nature would have it, it didn’t take long from his nightly visits that by that new year, Virginia was pregnant. She knew that she was going to hav
e to lie to make the women who came to her shop feel comfortable there while in her later months. The moment she knew she was with child, she concocted a lie that her husband Reginald had come home to check on them. That he couldn’t stay long, his job had only let him off a few days. That seed planted was enough for them so that by the time she started showing, they would put it together. As for Lida Bell, she remained silent about the story. She knew that Reginald had not returned, so wondered why Virginia would say such a thing.
In the meantime, to everyone’s surprise, the farmhouse sold.
Unfortunately, due to the current economic climate, it didn’t sell for as much as Virgina had hoped it would. By the time what she owed the McPherson’s was taken out of it - what it cost to fix up her farm house, and what was her half to pay for the shop, she had just a little over fifty dollars for herself. That was just fine with Virginia, long as she didn’t owe them, she didn’t care.
Because everything surrounding the sale went through GM, Jacob had his doubts - but he remained quiet. Their father and son relationship was strained at best. Lida Bell noticed, but at first didn’t understand it. Since she was too busy being the connection for all women in the area who still had money for extras like getting their hair done and clothes made - she occupied herself with those matters. She was completely oblivious to her son’s late night visits above the shop, even though she was aware of how late he came home at night. Her mind just didn’t yet put two and two together because there was no need to, she just didn’t care right then.
The holidays were soon over.
Time to return to school, he made what would be his last visit for a while. The girls were in bed, sound asleep. That was always the case when he came to call. He sat in Virginia’s kitchen as they spoke in whispers. “You gonna miss me while I’m gone?” He asked, in a chair with his arms round her, one hand full of her rump.
“What you think?” She smiled down at him, her fingers combing through his strawberry blonde hair - gazing into his hazel green eyes.
“I’m thinking of - maybe staying here, working - help take care of you.”
Smiling Virginia shook her head, “I’d rather you finish what you started. Time is gonna come, when this - what we doing, has to stop.”
“Why?”
“You know why Jacob. I’m married and you learning how to serve the Lord.” She gave a crooked smile, smoothing his brows with her thumbs while cupping is long face.
“You know he’s never coming back. Maybe I’ah find out how you can divorce him.” Jacob said, watching her reaction to his words.
“Then what?”
“I marry you. You marry me.”
“Why would you do such a foolish thing?”
“So I can lay with you without sin. So I can love you, without sin.”
“Where would we live? What would we do? It’s against the law, you know that, don’t you?”
His look became obstinate as he glanced away from her.
She leaned down and kissed his nose. “Thank you for wantin’ to though.”
“I hate this world, the way it is. It’s not right, it’s not right at all.” He complained.
“No matter, nothing you can do to change it. Nothing I can do to change it. We just have to make the best of the way things are.”
That wasn’t what he wanted to hear, needing to change the subject he asked, “You like how I did that shack out back?”
Virginia smiled, “I love it. Can’t wait ‘till I can use it.”
That brought something else to his mind that he didn’t like - made it hard for him to look her in the eyes - and so fixed his on a wood plank of the floor saying, “The way my mother drives you, I doubt you’ll ever find the time.” Turning his eyes up to her, “Let’s say I was to stay, go to work. I’ll do whatever I have to, I’d even pick cotton if that were all left to be done.”
“Have you lost your mind Jacob? Shoot I’m not even willing to pick no cotton.”
“I’m not too proud. The bible says, the meek shall inherit the earth.”
“That right? An what it say about what we doin’?”
Jacob sighed looking away again, “Told you I’d marry you.”
“I’m already married. We’re sinning, like it or not.”
His eyes darted back to look into hers, “I wanna make it right! Lord knows I wanna make it right. I’m only human, I’m just a man, or… trying to be.”
Virginia smiled at the top of his head, “You a man Jacob. Best man I’ve ever known ‘sides my granddaddy. You gotta go forward Jacob, not backward. Pickin’ cotton, just you moving backwards and it ain’t worth it, not even for me.”
Clinching his jaw, moisture in his eyes, he growled, “I hate that my folks got you right where they want you! I feel awful for what I got you into. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be forced to be here working her shop!”
“It’s half mine as well Jacob.” She reminded him.
“Yeah, that’s why I had to fix up that shack in the back!” He spat, “I don’t care what my mother said to you, they’ve got you right where they want you. You think you really own half of that shop with her? You can’t believe that Ginny!”
Virginia sighed long and deep, “Jacob McPherson, I went into this with my eyes wide open. You think I just turned black? You think I just turned into a Negro woman when you come along?”
“Of course not, but what you don’t realize-…”
“Hush, listen to me.”
He quieted down to listen, even though he didn’t want to. His respect for Virginia however, meant that he would do whatever she wanted him to do, including closing his mouth so she could talk.
“You have no idea of how frightened I was for me and my girls out at that farmhouse. With no choice but to walk along that road, walking from one head to the next, and to town - every trip, I was scared. Sewing outfits that I had to deliver. I couldn’t just sit out there and wait - I had to do something. Lord knows, my guts were twisted all the time. Some nights, I couldn’t even sleep if I heard a sound. Didn’t matter that we had that place under the floor, it was still just me to protect them. Truth was if somebody set they mind to me or my girls, I couldn’t have protected myself, let alone them. If you hadn’t taken me home that night and made all of this happen, I would still be there now - or maybe not, who’s to say what I feared might have happened by now.” She smiled at the look on his face. He was so tender, filled with empathy. “See, I’ve worked all my life. Ain’t nothing new about that. But what is new - is that my girls don’t have to follow me up and down that road anymore. We don’t have to hide and pray and jump at every little sound, praying to the Lord to please keep us safe. Sometimes, we’d have to walk home and goodness me, that road seemed so long. Trying to time it just so that dark not catch us out. Jacob, because of you - me and my girls, we in a better place.”
He heard, loud and clear. He could also see what she meant, “But they say you own half and your own shop says, white only. That is not right, I could tell how disappointed you were, how you thought it would be that way.”
Again she smiled shaking her head, “I didn’t really think it would work out that way.” She confessed.
“But you asked my mother the first day you moved in.” He reminded her.
“Of course I did. How are you supposed to know what is - if you don’t ask just to be certain? I had to test and see. Maybe, just maybe, I might’ah been wrong. Maybe, she would have let me do them here on the days we don’t book white customers,” She shrugged in acceptance, “Asking, she answered as I suspected she might. I had to try. Once she said what she did, I knew what I was dealing with, who I was dealing with. Jacob, I’ve been a Negro woman in this world since the day I was born - don’t you think for a minute, I don’t understand what that means for me.”
Jacob bowed his head low, squeezing her with his head pressed at her throat, “That makes me so ashamed. How can you let me do what I do to you, with a world run by the likes of me, doing wh
at it has to you, how?”
“Ohhh Jacob, they - the others have nothing to do with you. Nothing to do with the man that you are. Ain’t no way of knowing a man like you, and not loving you. Ain’t no way.” She confessed.
“That’s just you Ginny. What about all the other black folks out there who’ll look at me and assume I’m like the others. You have a burden with being black, in this world. I have mine as well, being white. Just by the color of my skin, I’ll be hated and guilty of crimes against your kind - when I’ve never wanted anything of the sort. It hurts me to see it, what’s being done in my color.”
Virginia could hear the pain and passion in his voice. See the pain and suffering in his eyes. “My-my-my - how lucky am I. You something else Mr. McPherson, Lord knows it’s true. So much good in you. So much it ain’t gone have no choice but to spill over into your sons, and their sons too. You just watch and see.” By then, Jacob was all talked out. He knew he would return to school, but before he left, he had to make love to his Ginny once more before he left. She too wanted this to be their last time. She couldn’t keep this up with him now that she was pregnant. In truth, if she’d made the effort, she could have stopped herself from getting pregnant, but she didn’t want to. She had special feelings for him. And he loved her - she wanted a part of him. That night, while making love she inspected every inch of his long slender body. A body that was much stronger than it appeared. She knew that he was strong from the many times he’d lifted her, held her high as he took her against the wall. That night, she traced and kissed every inch of him. Finding an odd looking birth-mark on his side under his arm. Red and oddly shaped. She kissed it, imprinting it upon her memory.
