Mirroring his stance, I lean against the railing, letting the night’s air blow the wisps of hair around my face, but it’s still fucking hot. The rum fizzes through my veins as I stand side by side with this stranger, no longer caring about the intrusion, letting his woodsy scent envelop me.

“Your siren skills stop working when your mouth doesn’t shut up,” he finally mutters, side-eying me, and a flicker of a smile touches my lips.

Any other time and I’d be focused on lecturing these fuckers on how I don’t let any man tell me what to do, my dad would have never allowed it, but the silence beckons me more than my backbone does tonight.

“Better,” he breathes, and I tilt my gaze to him.

“Don’t fucking push it,” I say with a pout, turning away dismissively as I head back inside, grabbing the rum off the table as I pass.

Pressing play on the movie I have paused on the television, my eyes fall back to my guest, who is watching me over his shoulder, a serious look in his eyes.

As if agreeing with himself, he nods before patting the railing and stalking towards me.

“You really don’t know who I am, do you?” he asks, a hint of surprise in his deep voice as he comes to stand toe-to-toe with me.

“Should I?” I ask, lifting the rum to my lips, but he grabs my wrist, pausing my movement. His other hand comes up to my chin, holding me in place, and I have to squeeze my thighs together as the dominant move goes straight to my core.

  Fucking hussy.

“Probably,” he whispers, looking deep into my eyes as his own hazel eyes swirl with darkness. “But I like the pain in your eyes, and I actually like knowing I didn’t cause it for a change.”

His words strip me apart. I want to squeeze my eyes shut and stop him from seeing into my soul, but instead, I stand helpless as he pries the rum from my hand and places it on the table on the balcony.

Turning back to me, I watch in slow motion as he raises his hand above his head and pulls the neck of his T-shirt up, revealing his defined abs and chest, moving towards me.

Licking my lips, my skin heats at the question in his eyes. Holy fuck, this is exactly what I need right now. Him. Beneath me, above me, behind me. Wherever the fuck he wants to be. I just want to forget.

I watch as he kicks off his shoes, raising his eyebrow at me in question, and I’m pulling my T-shirt over my head without a second thought.

Standing before him, completely naked, I toss my T-shirt aside. He doesn’t utter a word as he unbuttons his jeans in front of me, and my breath hitches as I realize he is commando underneath.

  Fuck yes.

Discarding his jeans, he doesn’t move to touch me as he surrounds my space, all my focus completely on him, but I don’t miss the condom he tosses on the bed.

“You have to show me what you want, Nafas,” he murmurs, his eyes searing into mine.

Glancing down at his hard length, I see a bead of pre-cum glistening, summoning me closer. Tentatively placing my hands on the perfect V at his waist, I indicate for us to turn, putting him closer to the bed.

“Sit,” I whisper, and he continues to stare down at me.

“I said show me, not order me around,” he responds, but there’s no bite to his words.

In one swift motion, I drop straight to my knees, gripping his cock in my hand as I lick the pre-cum away. Glancing up at him, he doesn’t utter a word, but his hands are fisted at his side and the cords in his neck are tight.

So Mr. Broody wants me to show him what I want but is struggling with not being in control. Noted. Not wanting to waste another second, I lean forward and wrap my lips around his dick, heading straight for gold and making it known I have no gag reflex.

With the tip of his dick at the back of my throat, I swallow, and it knocks him off balance.

“Fuck,” he growls as his cock slips from my mouth and he falls to the bed.

Shuffling forward, I waste no time taking him deep in my throat again, loving the feel of his hard length pulsing in my mouth. Bracing one hand on his thigh, I bring the other to cup his balls, and his hips rise off the bed. Fucking him with my mouth, I hold still, keeping my lips locked tightly around his cock as I tug at his balls, my eyes closed as I refuse to search out his gaze.

He’s intoxicating. I want more, and I want it now.

As if sensing the same thing, he threads his fingers through my hair and pulls my mouth off his cock. Instinctively, we both move for the condom, but I relent, letting him tear the wrapper and slowly roll it down his length.

His eyes bore into mine like he’s contemplating where this will go next. And it surprises me when he leans back on the palm of his hands, encouraging me to take a seat.

Without pause, I turn, placing my hand on his thigh as I line him up at my entrance and slam straight down.

Fuckkk. The stretch of his cock isn’t as rough as I wanted it to be. Even without him touching my pussy, I’m wet as fuck, and the grip of his fingers at my waist only adds to the heat.

Feeling his heat at my back, I look over my shoulder to see he’s leaned forward, clearly surprised I opted for this position instead. His thick thighs frame mine as I roll my hips, a sweet gasp passing my lips as I do.

“What is it about you that has me out of fucking sorts, Nafas?” he growls out, not impressed with his own reaction to me.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” I murmur, rolling my hips again and lifting a hand to cup my breast as I stroke a finger across my clit, moaning as my skin tingles.

His grip on my waist tightens as he glares at me, searching my eyes for some secret I must be holding, but he won’t find what he’s looking for. All that lives inside of me right now is pain and desire.

His other hand grips my bun, tilting my neck back. “Fuck it,” he grunts, beads of sweat gathering on his brows, and he crushes his lips to mine. Devouring my lips as I grind against him, I gasp, making his fingers tighten in my hair.

Keeping my neck twisted and his lips against mine, he thrusts his hips, making me bounce on his dick, and I match his rhythm, falling in sync all too easily.

His hand releases my hip and bats my own fingers away from my clit, instantly hitting the perfect spot. My orgasm starts at my toes, setting my skin alight as it rips through me, and he catches every one of my screams with his lips.

My vision blacks out as I come down from my high, but his constant thrusts have me filling with ecstasy all over again.

My eyes open as he suddenly lifts me off him and tosses me down on the bed effortlessly. I bounce a couple of times before he settles between my thighs and sinks straight back into my pussy, his lips capturing one of my nipples as he does.

With my head thrown back in pleasure, I brace myself on my elbows as he shows me what he can really do with his cock. His thrusts are brutal, hard, and fast, and I fucking love it.

Pleading and chanting for more, he gives me exactly what I want, biting down on my taut nipple as he does.

I stroke my hands over his shoulders, but he quickly grabs both my wrists in one of his hands and pins them above my head, releasing my nipple from his mouth as he does.

As he stares down at me, I feel his moves stutter, losing rhythm as he chases his orgasm. His other hand pinches my clit as he does, and I follow him off the cliff, seeing stars as my second climax hits me.

  Fuck. Me.

He buries his head in my neck as we both catch our breath before he slowly pulls out and discards the condom.

Lying in complete bliss, my eyes fall closed as I bask in the tingles still coursing through my body.

It’s a pity I don’t double fuck because he would be worth seeking out again, I think as the world goes dark and sleep washes over me. That was just the distraction I needed.

  Eden

Peeking my eyes open, it takes a moment for me to remember where I am, and more importantly, what state I fell asleep in. The scent of a woodsy aftershave lingers on the pillow beside me—the only indic
ation Mr. Broody was even here last night. I sag in relief when I don’t see him around, lingering for more.

I can’t believe I fell asleep like that, but I can’t deny the effects of an intense orgasm or two.

Stretching out, I groan in pleasure as my muscles relax before lifting onto my elbows. I have a frontline view of the ocean. Even through the balcony glass door and the balcony itself, I can see the crystal clear waters sparkling in the distance, the melodic sound of the waves crashing calming my soul.

Damn. It’s just so pretty. The balcony doors are still open a little, and the bottle of spiced rum sits on the little table just as he left it. I can hear the sound of the waves in the distance, but the light is doing nothing for my headache.

Finding my phone on my nightstand, I notice it’s a little after eleven in the morning. I need to get out of bed, freshen myself up, and go in search of answers. Richard seemed very distant yesterday, although the emotion in his face caught me completely off guard.

I don’t think he’ll give me much information, but maybe his son, Archie, will know more.

With a plan in mind, I jump in the shower, hating to see my cosmetics naturally around my en suite. I know the space is mine and I’m thankful I’ve not found myself in a hellhole, but it’s still not where I want to be.

The ache between my legs is magic, as I remember last night in more detail. He seemed confused with his own actions, but he couldn’t stop the inevitable from happening either. I’m just glad we were both on the same page, wanting nothing more than the pleasure for the night.

I pause as I reach for my coconut body wash. I’m a little obsessive with making sure my lids are closed on any products I have, and it’s not sealed shut.

Glancing over my shoulder, as if someone’s watching me, I shake my head. Did Mr. Broody shower before he left? Who knows? I don’t need to see him again to find out.

Stepping from the shower, steam engulfs the bathroom, making it impossible to see my reflection in the mirror. So I grab a fluffy grey towel from the rack and rub it through the ends of my hair as I step back into my room naked.

  Thump.

  “Ah, shit.”

Startling, I quickly drop the towel, attempting to cover my body as I search for the person who just fucking said that.

My eyes fall to Archie as he fumbles to pick up my favorite dildo and put it back in my drawer.

  Wait. My fucking…

“Archie, what the fuck are you doing in my room?” I squeal, pulling the towel around my chest and waist.

“I, uh.” Clearing his throat, he can’t reach my gaze as he slams the drawer shut on my nightstand. “Sorry, I came to see if you wanted something to eat. I called out, but you must not have heard me over the shower,” he rambles, and I continue to glare at him.

“So you decided to go snooping around through my stuff?” I grumble, nowhere near as embarrassed as he is right now. His face is bright red as he rubs nervously at the back of his neck.

“Sorry about that,” he murmurs, finally meeting my stare. “I’m a slightly nosey person. I won’t do it again,” he offers, giving me some fake as shit angelic voice, which somehow calms my annoyance.

“Fine, you’re forgiven,” I relent, and he instantly perks up like a little puppy. “If, and only if, you wow me with these breakfast skills. I’m starving,” I admit, and his smile widens.

“Food is my specialty. Well, food, parties, and football are.” Almost bouncing all on the balls of his feet, he rubs his hands together. “You get dressed, and I’ll meet you downstairs. We’re going to Pete’s.”

With that, he waltzes out of the door, shutting it gently behind him before I even have a chance to respond. Out for breakfast it is then.

Rummaging through my clothes, I pull out my favorite ripped jeans with a cropped white top and my thin beige jacket. Opting to French braid my hair down my back, I bypass my makeup and slip on my black sunglasses. Securing my black Gucci belt, I’m good to go.

Casual badass. That’s the vibe I want. Hopefully, it will encourage everyone to avoid me at all costs.

Grabbing my wallet and phone, I check to see if my mom has tried to call or text, but there aren’t any notifications. It’s not that our relationship has ever been strained, we just haven’t really had anything in common, which has impacted our dynamic.

Even when we were under the same roof, we could go days without talking to each other. Whereas my dad would call and text all the time, whether I liked it or not, making sure to insert himself in my life. It makes me wonder if I would have felt this broken if it was the other way around.

Refusing to contact her again after repeatedly doing so, I make my way downstairs to find Archie and his father murmuring to each other in the kitchen. Richard’s face scrunches in pain as he catches sight of me reaching the bottom of the stairs. He instantly pushes some papers into Archie’s chest and storms out of the room.

I don’t think he likes me very much. Or he doesn’t like me invading their space at least.

Archie gets a better grip on the papers, frowning at the spot his dad was standing moments ago before turning to me with his megawatt smile back in place. I have no idea who this guy really is, but I’ve never seen a forced smile quite like it. It looks genuine, but it doesn’t quite meet his eyes.

“Let’s go, trouble.” He breezes right past me and opens the front door wide, indicating for me to lead the way. “Is this your G-Wagon?” he asks, a hint of appreciation in his tone as I nod in agreement. “Damn, nice ride. Who’d you have to convince to get you these wheels?”

He moves closer to the vehicle as I remain frozen in place, my words stuck on the tip of my tongue as emotion overwhelms me. As if sensing a shift in the air, Archie glances over his shoulder at me, a stricken look instantly on his face.

“Not a topic of conversation for today?” he asks, and I swallow hard before responding, licking my suddenly parched lips. He’s either being polite or doesn’t actually know about my current situation.

“It was from my dad,” I mumble, and understanding washes over his features as he walks back towards me, flinging his arm around my shoulder.

Without a word, he guides me to my SUV, letting me unlock it before he opens the door. As he shuts the door and circles the front of the SUV, I realize I’m in the driver’s seat, and that was the most chivalrous shit I’ve ever seen.

Climbing in beside me, he clips his seatbelt and stares at me expectantly, waiting for me to do the same as I force myself not to make a joke about his chivalry. I don’t really know this guy enough to be myself and let my walls down.

“I thought it might be good for you to drive. Get a feel for the town. And…my dad may have taken my car away, and I don’t get it back for another two months since I totaled the last one.”

My eyes flash to his as I press the button to start the engine, taken aback by his admission.

“How on earth did you total it? Were you injured?” I ask, reversing out of the driveway and heading to the left as Archie directs with his hand.

“It’s all good. I was just a little reckless at the time.” Guilt lingers in his eyes before he blinks it away. He’s a master at hiding his emotions, just like me. “My mom had just died, and I didn’t really give a shit about much.”

I can’t stop my eyes from flickering to his, completely forgetting I’m driving. That’s where his understanding comes from. He must have seen it in my eyes when he asked about the G-Wagon.

I focus back on the road, and neither of us says anything except for him offering directions. I expected us to head inland, but I’m surprised when we drive through the town of Knight’s Creek and head straight back to the coast.

The local radio station plays through the speakers, the latest hot tracks playing quietly in the background as Archie points out places and hotspots that mean nothing to me. Except for the local classic record store, which also deals with retro movies too. Now that I’m interested in. My dad made me watch them until
I loved them just as much as he did.

I instantly see Pete’s up ahead, surrounded by nothing but sand, right on the water’s edge, and I’m thankful to see the parking lot isn’t packed.

Wordlessly, I put the G-Wagon into park and follow Archie towards the front door. The whole exterior is made up mostly of glass, offering views from all angles. The Pete’s sign sits proudly in red neon lights on the light wooden roof, giving a retro vibe to the modern-looking diner.

Stepping inside, I’m surprised to see ultramodern fixtures and fittings and not some sixties diner or sea shack. It makes me wonder why the sign isn’t up to date like it is in here.

Huge windows line the opposite wall, giving you the perfect view as oak tables scatter the open space, framed with cushioned grey chairs. There are even a few leather sofas and coffee tables dotted around the edge for a more relaxed atmosphere too.

“Archie darling, grab your spot. I’ll be two seconds,” a woman calls out, and Archie shouts back his thanks as he moves us towards the semi circle booth by the window. A large flatscreen television hangs on the wall with the latest sports news playing.

Taking the offered menu from Archie, I get comfortable in the booth as I browse through the food options.

“Anything you choose will be amazing, Eden. I swear they are masters at putting me in a food coma every time I come here.” Archie smiles, and my lips tilt up in response.

It’s weird how he has a crazy ability to make me smile so effortlessly. I’ve never really had a platonic guy friend before, but there’s a first time for everything. It’s weird to have friend-zoned him so soon, but it feels natural.

“And who might this be, Archie?” a lady sings as she steps up to our table.

She’s tiny, probably five feet in height with a slim frame, and a blonde pixie cut perfectly styled frames her face, her blue eyes sparkling with mischief. Her apron and name badge are the only things giving away that she works here, since she’s wearing a pair of jeans and a casual T-shirt.
