  "Oh?" Rochelle questioned.

"Well, I miss them a lot, but intellectually I know this is the right thing for both Lizzie and Gabby."

"So it's the right thing? You did the right thing—the best thing possible for all concerned? I'm proud of you. You did good."

"Then why do I feel so crummy?"

"Because you loved so deeply," Rochelle explained. "You'll be okay. Truly you will. Just know that you have made a tremendous difference for Gabby and for Lizzie. They were meant to be together. You were chosen as the catalyst to cause that to happen. Whew, what a big job and it sounds like you did it well, Savannah."

"Yes, that was a big and important job, wasn't it? And I did do it well. Thank you, Rochelle."

  "So do you feel better?"

Savannah hesitated, finally saying, "Well, I can't say I won't shed more tears and feel an awful deficit, but boy am I glad I didn't miss the opportunity to meet Gabby and Lizzie. Yes, you were absolutely right. The joy and delight was beautiful. Thank you."
