In the media, thanks to our pals Kevin O’Malley at Elle, Graydon Carter, Edward Menachesky, and Sara Marks at Vanity Fair, Stephen Jacoby at Esquire, Armen Keteyian of CBS News, Lisa Bennett of HBO, Oprah Winfrey, Peter Liguori, Ted Skillman and Balisa Balban at Snackaholic, Tom Sacks, Paul Colliton, and Kelly Cutrone at People’s Revolution for shining good and positive light on Surfers Healing. Thanks to you, folks know who we are and what we’re about—at least a little bit.
On the trail, a fine hey and howdy to my Tortuga riding brothers, Brent, K.W., and Mr. Beans.
On dry land, I’m grateful to Miriam Buhl for taking care of business on behalf of Surfers Healing, along with her colleagues at Weil Gotshal and Manges, including Steven and Richard.
I’m also sending love and thanks to Andy Irons, Sion Milosky, Garrett McNamara, Tim McCabe, Anthony Kiedes, Flea, Jimmy Buffet, Russ Kunkel, Perry Farrell, Sarah McLachlan, Eddie Vedder, Common Sense Band (Jeff Antoci, Lois Pilot, Lorie Enryod … RIP), Pat Notaro III, John Shestack and Portia Iverson, Miguel “El Campion” Rojas, Farmer Dean Carlson, Mark Anderson, and Scott Caan for various good and solid turns along the way.
And finally, a heartfelt, heart-filled thanks to my family—my children, Elah, Isaiah, and Eli, and my beautiful wife, Danielle. You’ve put up with my crazy shit at home for years and years, and now you have to put up with it in book form for all the world to see. Sorry about that.
Oh, and almost forgot—a shout-out to Hot Cop.
