Trillionaire Boys' Club: The Producer

Trevor’s Harem needed a sex company, so I just sort of invented a sex company. It could have been any sex company, but noooo … I had to make things complicated. And that meant that the company that I introduced in The Burning Offer (Eros) ended up being the same sex company that already existed in the back-burner project.

  That’s all it took.

Once I’d used my “Eros” company in the TH books, I knew I was committed. I knew I’d feel this burning need to tie all of my projects together in the end, including that orphaned one on my back burner. And what’s more, because I knew where Eros was going to end up on the master timeline, I felt a similar burning need to nudge the ball toward that story’s already-determined destination with each subsequent book.

Gagged mentioned Eros just a little.

Hotel Indigo skipped the Eros subplot and so did most of Almost Wrong, but the end of Almost Wrong brought it right back into play with the arrival of a special guest in the final chapter.

And then in the first Trillionaire Boys’ Club book (The Connector), you started to see my grand plan for Eros truly begin to take shape. What Eros was up to, I always knew, would take a lot of money and require a lot of good partners to pull it off. The Syndicate was a natural partner, and I’ve spent these first three books hinting at that partnership.

In the next two books, you’ll learn more about the other partners.

In The Guru (book six), you’ll finally see the threads of how it all comes together.

And after The Guru, that long-back-burnered project of mine will finally be brought right up to the front. I’ll release it in May, with new installments coming every single week.

  This is a crazy-cool, crazy-ambitious project. A big project.

As I write this author’s note, I’m mostly finished with The Guru. I paused before totally finishing it so that I could take the time to shore up the mystery project that follows it. I’m rewriting parts of what’s written in that other project, adding more volumes in the series, and tying together several large pieces of what I can only describe as a “tapestry” of books.

After I’m done with that, I’ll come back to The Guru and go through the entire draft again, just to make sure the tapestry is tight before finishing it off.

I can’t tell you much about the new mystery project that follows The Guru just yet. I can only tell you it’s a whole new thing for me. I can tell you that it’s exciting. And I can tell you that it ties several story worlds together. And the really amazing thing is that those other worlds already exist out there in other books … but right now, you only know one of them.

I could keep going on, but everyone gets pissed when I just keep teasing relentlessly. So I’ll stop. For now. :)

But do expect more — in both story and these author’s notes — in the coming books.

Expect big things in April, when The Guru comes out.

And expect bigger things in May, when it finally all comes together … and I let a rather large cat out of the bag.

Sorry for teasing so much in the meantime. But you know you love it.
