Emma thought for a moment. “Let’s try. I have some money saved up. If we can get everything lined up, let’s go for it.”
“I’ll go tell Patty,” Aaron said. He had a feeling they would be able to get everything together in time. They had already found each other and gotten engaged in less than a month. He knew they could pull this wedding off.
Epilogue
“I can’t wait for Emma to move in,” Wyatt said.
Aaron sighed. He had explained to the gorilla shifter more than once that Emma wouldn’t be living with them. She was going to run out the lease on her place unless they found a house. But his roommate still kept mentioning how excited he was.
“She isn’t moving in with us,” Aaron said.
“Sure she’s not.” Wyatt nodded. “I’m going to go get another beer. You want one?”
“I’m good. I don’t want to show up to my own wedding drunk.”
All his friends had pulled together to help the wedding happen. They were outside getting everything set up and greeting guests while Wyatt helped him get ready.
He had met Emma’s parents three days earlier and it had gone well. Unlike his parents, they were surprised by the fast courtship. Even so, they were already treating him like a son. He couldn’t be happier.
Wyatt came back empty-handed. “Jack wouldn’t let me drink any more. Says it’s unseemly for the best man to drink in front of the guests.”
“What’s it like out there?”
“Green. Very, very green. I hope you like green, because it is green.”
Aaron laughed. “Our theme is St. Patrick’s Day.”
“I’m pretty sure the Irish flag is also orange and white. Whatever, though. As long as you guys are happy, green is my new favorite color.”
“Thanks, man.”
“You ready to get out there?”
Aaron took one last look in the mirror. “I’m ready.”
With his best friend beside him, he went out to greet the guests and wait for his wife. He was getting to marry the woman of his dreams in front of all their loved ones. He didn’t know what he’d done to deserve all this, but he was one lucky lion.
