She raises our joined hands and kisses the back of mine. “I always knew, Celeste. Even before you told me you loved me, I knew this is what I wanted. And I can never tell you how much it means to me that I’m sharing it with you.”
Smiling, I let out a little huff as everything hits me at once, all those hopes and dreams come true. A world of possibility stretched out in front of me.
Liv nudges me gently. “What?”
“Still just thinking, is all.”
“About what now?”
“My friends. Starting a family.” Sliding an arm around her waist, I pull her to a stop, bringing her close for a soft kiss. “You.” I have to blink away tears, and when I finally manage to speak again, it’s choked and hoarse. “I’m not alone.”
“No, darling,” she agrees softly. “You’re not. I’m here, and you’ll never be alone.”
