“Oh, then I shouldn’t do this?” he asks just before placing an open mouth kiss just beneath my jawline, holy sweet mother of all things, “or this?” he asks with a wandering hand.

“Oh, uh…” I manage pulling him closer as he continues his unrelenting perusal. Each kiss, nip, and lick ignites the want and burning desire within me. Pre-surgery I never felt this much intensity, the pain would begin before I got to this point until I was given the Lupron, but even with that the moment of impact quickly doused the passion and intensity.

“Ellie,” Jase pauses from his wandering, making a way to my lips. “Talk to me, Ellie.”

“No, no. I’m great, please proceed. Without caution.” I smile, because it’s true, no more caution. We are in the clear to revoke the abstaining.

“Ellie,” he says sternly, our foreheads pressed together, him waiting for my answer.

  “I’m scared.”

“How about we do this,” he says slowly maneuvering me from my side to my back, “you just lie here and I’ll give you a little massage.”

“No, I most definitely don’t want a,” I start to object when Jase’s fingers deftly sink into my feet, slowly and methodically moving up my naked legs until he reaches my thighs. One by one he massages each, giving them more attention than they need, I assure you my dripping wet pussy will agree. His fingers skip my sex and move to my now squirmy hips.

“Ellie, relax or I’ll have to restart.” He chastises his nose now skimming the shell of my ear as his engorged shaft brushes over my drenched slit.

“Oh fuck,” I mumble into his neck as he slowly sinks into me. Inch by inch, rocking ever so slowly as I relax and stretch taking more of him in.

“Fuck you are so goddamn tight,” Jase moans into my mouth as we start to move in sync. “Ellie, pain?”

“No, oh fuck that’s, oh my god,” I murmur matching his thrusts. “I love you.”

“I love you,” he says making each thrust a little deeper, harder.

“I’m so unconditioned. I’m about to co-“

“Yeah you are,” he says kissing me thoroughly, “and you can do it again,” moving his hand between us, he begins circling out quick motions over my clit and within seconds I am nearing another climax, taking him with me as I go.

  A FEW HOURS LATER –

“Hey babe,” I pant, “guess what?”

“Hmm,” he says softening inside me, yet to move and gazing into my eyes.

“I just remembered where all those condoms from St. Louis are.”

“That, of all things, is what just popped into your brilliant mind?”

“Well, no, but yes. They’re in my suitcase, that front mini zipper.”

  “Perfect,” he grumbles.

“Also, you are fucking HUGE, and condoms suck, and you feel so gosh dang amazing bare and,” before I can finish my sentence Jase’s smile lights up his face and I feel him stirring to life inside me again.

  Ten Years Later

The house smells of fresh baked sugar cookies and warm apple pie, I have the windows and doors open allowing the breeze to sweep through room to room. The turkey, trio potatoes, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, rolls, and the fruit and vegetable trays are ready and waiting on our guests. Making my way toward the master bedroom at the back west side of the house to change before Hannah and Carter arrive, I hear the crunch of gravel as the tires advance to the house. Hurrying along, I trade my dirty, baggy t-shirt for a slouch neck sweater dress over my leggings.

“Knock, knock,” the sweetest voice rings out. “Auntie Ellie!” Alecia impatiently sings through the screen on the front door as I quickly make my way toward her.

“I’m coming, Sweet Angel.” I smile and unlock the storm door and scoop her into my arms. “Holy Buckets, you are getting too big for Auntie Ellie to pick up!” I laugh.

“I know. I’m going to be ten next year.”

“That’s double digits!” Benjamin shouts excitedly. “I’m almost nine Auntie Ellie.”

“Hey my man,” Jase says from behind me, grabbing Ben up by his hands and tossing him into the air and catching him on the way down. “I think you still have a few years,” Jase tells the middle Jacobs’ child.

“Nuhuh,” he argues. “Only two years, and you said I can practice if we don’t tell mommy.” He says giggling.

“What aren’t we telling mommy?” Hannah asks making her way around the obstacle course that is us.

“Nothing,” we all say in unison.

“This is why I dread leaving my children with you Brielle,” Hannah sighs as she treks toward the back of the house. “How many people are you feeding?” she yells from the kitchen.

“Hey,” Carter nods making his way through the door with Stormy Elizabeth in her carrier sound asleep. “I’m going to put her in the nursery.”

“Okay, I think there may be some outfits in the crib, just put them in the chair, C.” I tell him before making my way to Hannah.

“Dude, you just left your poor husband to Stormy and came on a food finding mission?” I question with a smirk. “Banana, you got some ‘splainin to do… you prego again?” I ask laughing.

“Bite your tongue you whore,” Hannah laughs before looking around for Alecia and Benjamin. “Seriously though, you have a ton of food.”

“I know, but it seems like more than it is.” I assure her. “Oh before we eat or after, there is something you have to see.”

“Okay, well let’s eat first because then sassy pants will be up from her nap.” Hannah decides and we do.

After corralling Alecia and Benjamin, we all sit around the dining table for approximately ten minutes before an ear-piercing scream fills the room. “I got her,” I say, waving off Hannah and Jase who both stand as Carter continues to fix Ben’s plate. Making my way to the nursery that Jase and I designed when we planned to adopt years ago and where Stormy Elizabeth now cries, I smile. My heart is full.

Our home has six bedrooms – the master bedroom, two guest bedrooms, Alecia’s room, Benjamin’s room, and the nursery. Alecia and Benjamin claimed their rooms after years of sleepovers and mini-vacations since moving back to Florida six years ago, just after Ben turned one. We renovated the east side of the house for entertaining, so now the living room is twice the size, we have an informal dining room, and game room. The house is literally spilt down the center with a dark cherry hallway that leads into my dream kitchen. With the Bahama shades slanted open, the afternoon breeze is filtering in and little Miss Stormy is all sunshine when I enter the nursery. “Why hello, Sweet Princess. Let’s get you changed. Auntie Ellie made trio potatoes, we can see if you like the sweet potatoes, the mashed potatoes, or the scalloped potatoes.” I coo and kiss her rosy pink cheeks. “All done,” I say after I get her changed with an eskimo kiss and head back with the family to finish lunch.

A few hours later, Alecia and I finish warming up on the ice and everyone makes their way through the side door we entered just twenty minutes prior. This may be the best-kept secret between Alecia and me, I haven’t even told Jase. We only practice when the coast is clear of anyone’s knowledge. This is our secret, our safe haven. Alecia is Hannah and Carter’s precious gem, they are slightly over protective, well not so much anymore, but we’ve been skating since she was able to run steadily. I hear her breath catch when she spots Hannah and Carter peering into the Plexiglas wall at us.

“Hey, it’s just us. We’re in a bubble Lecia. Escaping. It’s our bubble.” I remind her. Alecia doesn’t have much to escape from, except for an ornery brother, a fussy sister, and the trials of elementary bullying. But it’s an escape that she needs, an outlet to feel calm, to feel herself. “Are you ready? Our song is about to start.” I say with a huge grin.

“Auntie Ellie,” she sighs and laughs loudly, “that song is so old school.”

“Alecia Noelle, that song is so freakin’ awesome. You know it’s true, it’s my song, the only song I share with you.” I smile and skate a circle around her backward as Fi
ght Song begins to play through the sound system and she moves. We skate.

“I just cannot believe how well she skates,” Hannah muses as she feeds Stormy and I put away the dishes from dinner. “I mean, she’s the clumsiest child I know.”

“She’s so graceful Han,” I beam, turning to her with unabashed pride. “We skate every time she’s here, so every other week for two or three days minimum. That’s a lot of practice.”

“Yeah, I saw that today,” she retorts. “So when are you and J gonna tie the knot and reconsider adoption or are you enjoying that last name of yours for eternity?”

“Funny you should mention that because I always forget to bring it u-”

“Momma, Auntie Ellie is already married to Uncle Jase, duh!” Alecia giggles as she bounces into the kitchen for another sugar cookie. “Like a month ago or something, I think. Oh and she don’t need kids, cause they’d take time away from us… that’s not cool,” she rambles and skips out of the room.

“What?” Hannah stutters as she squints her eyes into little slits staring back at me.

“Yeah, about that,” I laugh, my eyes fixed to the window as Jase and Carter emerge from the garage. “Alecia, is kind of right on all accounts. Jase and I signed the marriage certificate and had like a two-minute elopement in between practice sessions. Seriously it’s no big deal, I mean we’ve been together for what nearly our entire lives well there was that gaping section of six years, but who’s counting.” Biting my lower lip, I turn to Hannah slowly hoping to avoid the ‘I’m your person, you tell your person this kind of shit lecture’.

“Well, I guess that’s not just a pretty little promise or I love you forever band you wear on your dainty little finger, then is it.” She laughs loudly startling Stormy.

“Nah, that’d be my wedding band even though I’ve been wearing it for a few years, and about the adoption…” I feel the smile on my face falter as my words trail off. “We aren’t adopting. Clearly, this body is out of commission, but we’ve decided to just love on your babies. Since you and Carter are back, and we travel through the year, this make sense.”

“Will you just do me one favor, look at me?” Hannah prompts her question and before she asks I know what it will be, but I humor her because I know she needs to hear that I am okay. “Are you happy Brie?”

“I’m 32, married to the man of my dreams. I’m living each day to its fullest potential – without pain, without medication, without seeing doctors on a regular basis. I have Alecia, Benjamin, and Stormy to spoil rotten as well as any of the race team’s kiddos that come along. I am beyond content; I’ve been given more than I could’ve ever wished for.” I beam at her. “Jase tore down the walls that I had built for so long and now he keeps adding the most beautiful accompaniments to our forever. I could never hide from him; he’s always held the pieces. I was just a bitch of a jigsaw to put together. Thank fuck for his patience.”

“Auntie Ellie said the F-bomb!” Benjamin shouts from the living room. “You owe me five dollars Uncle Jase; she didn’t make it even six hours today.”

“What the fuck?” I laugh not thinking before it even slips out of my mouth.

“That’s ten,” Alecia giggles, swiping another cookie.
