Comforts of a Man (The Panty Droppers Series)

“What's so funny?” Allison questioned from behind him.
Logan inhaled deeply and turned around. She was dressed in a pink, satin, bathrobe. But even then she was beautiful. “I was just remembering dinner.”
Allison walked closer and wrapped her arms around his waist to look up into his eyes. He locked gaze with her and felt so at home, it shivered with the force of it. He caressed her back and lowered his lips to hers. “I know I should behave,” he whispered, nipping at her lower lip. “But it’s been a while since I've tasted you.”
“You couldn't have missed me that badly.” Her head instantly went down.
“Look at me,” Logan told her.
“I really...”
“Allison, please. Look at me.”
She lifted her head and he smiled at her. “I've missed you. No matter how annoyed you made me I still missed you terribly. Don't you understand you've seeped beneath my skin in the most delicious ways?”
“One more time, Logan. Now is the time to run before my baby gets too attached to you.”
“And one more time—I'm not going anywhere. Now, we should go to bed or we'll end up doing something we shouldn't.”
“Is that a bad thing?”
“Trust me, Ali. If we do anything your daughter is going to find more than lingerie in your hamper and we don't want that.”
She chuckled, easing even closer. “And what if I told you Allison left to sleep over at a friend's?”
“Then,” Logan replied, scooping her into his arms. She squealed then burst out laughing as he walked her into the bedroom, placing her gently on the bed. Logan levelled himself between her legs and braced himself on either side of her. Like he was getting ready to taste from the most amazing desert, he slowly lowered his mouth to her lips once more while undoing the tie on her robe. He pushed it downward, exposing her skin. She sighed and arched up. Slowly, he drifted lower; kissing, licking, nipping at her skin. She scored her nails down his bare back sending torrents of fire through his being. His heart raced fiercely and he prayed she could hear it beat only for her.
Now beneath him, naked and panting, he eased up to look down at her. With a finger tip he skimmed her body, between her breasts, down her flat stomach, then up again, over each nipple barely kissing them with his finger. She shivered visibly and reached for him. Still Logan stayed out of her reach.
“Damn you’re beautiful,” he whispered.
“Come to me, Logan...”
He pushed back from her, caressed down her thighs before spreading them wider. “Don’t move...”
Climbing from the bed, he undressed and when he returned, he used a finger to feel how wet she was. The digit slid into her with no restrictions and he smiled. He added a second finger and Allison cried out to him. Logan climbed over, rested a hand beside her head and took her lips. He fingered her, sliding the digits in and out of her slowly, deeply. Using his thumb he played with her clit, driving her closer and closer. Her breathing was hot against his face—still he sucked her tongue deeply into his mouth before plunging his into her heat. She bit against his lips and he knew what was about to happen. Pushing from her, he fell between her legs, spread hear wide and shoved his tongue into her.
“Logan!”
Her body arched and suddenly she gushed against his tongue, hot and sweet. He growled, held her thighs apart and sucked for more. As she trembled with the aftershocks of her orgasm, Logan reached up, and entered her slowly, holding his breath.

Making love with Logan…never old—never boring. He was generous, patient, kind—a form of love making she was never used to. He would take her where he wanted her, and she happily let him. He did things to her, tasted from places on her body William would never. She enjoyed it. She clung to her lover, encouraging him with her moans of desire and sighs of pleasure. He knew where to touch and how hard or how soft. He knew the precise places to sink his tongue or to caress. His fingers traveled her body, massaging, caressing and stroking. He tickled beneath her knees which drove her mad before dropping kisses against her pulse.
As her body accepted everything Logan had to give, Allison reached up and dragged her nails down his abs then pinching his nipples as he rode her long and deep. Their gaze locked and she licked her lips squeezing harder. He growled at her, throwing his head back and slammed harder into her.
She released his nipples and squeezed her own. The build up of steam within her was too much to contain. Allison rolled them between her fingers and tugged at them. When she looked up she almost felt ashamed at her showcase as he watched her, eyes blazing, lips slightly apart. But she couldn't; the orgasms storming through her stopped her in her tracks. She arched upward, heels digging into him; her hands falling to the bed to grab the sheets and a scream she's never heard leave a human before, erupted from her. She gripped his arms beside her body, dug her nails in and lurched forward for his lips.
Their tongues did battle, their breathing mingled and soon she felt him explode within her. She released his lips, crashing into the bed, writhing in pure bliss.
Logan kissed the mounds of her breasts, her nipples, her chin and forehead. He then scooped her into his arms and all she could do was shiver against him.
“Logan…”
“Close your eyes, Allison. Go to sleep.”
“Don't leave—”
“I'll be right here.”
Chapter Thirteen
Allison hugged her daughter tightly. “I love you. Drive safely.”
“I love you too,” Emily replied. “Don't worry, I'll be fine, and I'll call you once I get back to the dorms.”
Allison grinned because Emily knew precisely what she was going to say next. She stepped aside and watched Logan hug Emily then stepped back. He'd insisted on checking her oil and brake lines and everything else a guy would look at in a car. Then he slipped money into her palm and closed her fingers over it.
“Just in case,” he said to her.
“Thanks, Logan...”
“Any time,” he replied, kissing the side of her head.
When he was back at her side, Allison wrapped an arm around his waist as her daughter pulled from the parking spot and waved at them. She waved back long after her daughter exited the large gates and out of sight. She looked up at Logan then and grinned brightly. “You love her,” Allison teased.
“I admit nothing,” Logan laughed.
“And you gave her money.”
“My father always had a little something to put in my hand whenever I visited. He knew I was old enough, but you never know when a little something extra would come in handy.”
“Logan?”
“Mmm?”
She looked up at him and waited until he turned his head. “Thank you.”
“For....” he stopped and smiled.”You're welcome, Baby.”
Allison led him back into the house and closed the door. She released him and he walked from the room to the kitchen. She thought about the last few days. She'd spent more time with her daughter, who'd missed a few days of classes to stay home just a bit longer. She'd fallen behind on work, but Allison didn't mind. She'd rather spend time with her daughter and her man any day. Beaming, she turned on the computer and while it booted up, she checked her business voicemail. There were a few technical calls, a few order mix-up calls and a few stores wanting to carry her line in their stores. She took down all the numbers and gritted her teeth to make the technical calls first, then the order mix-up calls and finally she would deal with the stores. That was the plan. But life had a way of just going bust. The door bell peeled and she jerked up. Frowning, she put the phone back in the cradle.
“I'll get it!” she called to Logan and ran from the office. Without checking, she opened the door and her spirits crashed. “What are you doing here?”
“We need to talk.”
Allison cocked a hip and rested a hand against the door, barring him from entering the house. After he left she'd forgotten to change the code
on the gate. Feeling like an idiot, she took a breath and lifted her chin. “Now you want to talk? When you were breaking my heart and scarring our daughter you had nothing to say!”
“Allison, I'm sorry about that. I want to come home.”
“Let me see if I get this right. You picked up and left me for little Miss Fresno and now you expect to just come back? You no longer live here, William. You need to leave.”
He looked older in the short time she hadn't seen him.
“Allison, please...This is my house!”
“Allison, is everything alright?” Logan walked up behind her. Allison leaned back into Logan's chest and crossed her arms, hoping William would get the picture and simply leave without causing a fuss.
“Who's this?” William demanded.
“None of your business,” Allison snapped, trying to slam the door.
William stuck his foot in the door and lunged at her. She screamed and before she knew what was happening, Logan had William by the neck. He twisted his body and Allison heard it the moment William's back connected with the hard door. He grunted, but Logan didn’t release him.
“Did you really think trying to hurt her with me standing right here was such a great idea?” Logan’s voice was low, cold.
“Logan, no!” Allison called, touching his arm. “He’s not worth it.”
“Someone needs to teach this twerp a lesson,” Logan said.
“Do you know who I am?” William grounded out.
“This is me caring,” Logan replied.
“Logan, please. If he wants his house back he can have it.”
She smiled when Logan turned to look at her. “He can have it,” she repeated. “I don’t want to fight with him. I’m over him and his drama. I’m not taking him back so I don’t know what he thought this little scene would accomplish.”
“And he’s going to be a gentleman and leave while you gather your things. Aren’t you, William?” Logan asked. The sarcasm was rich in his voice. Allison eyed William and saw fear vibrating through his eyes. “Aren’t you, William?”
William grunted.
“Words, Billy! Use your words.”
“Yes.”
“Good,” Logan replied and shoved William out the door then slammed it shut.
“He’s going to come after you again, you know that, right?” Allison questioned.
“Oh I hope he does.”
* * * *
Logan could not believe the gall of the man. He inhaled deeply and held it. When he finally pushed the air out his mouth again, he turned to look at Allison who looked scared. He walked over and pulled her into his arms. “You can stay at my place. You don't have to fight him over this.”
“You're right. I don't have to fight him for it because I don't want it.” Allison smiled brightly up at him. “I thought I would—I thought I would be mad as hell if he ever tried to take this place away from me. But my daughter is grown up so I don't need to hold on to it for her. Letting it go means letting him go, so I don't mind leaving!”
“ I’ve fallen in love with you, Allison. I didn’t even see it coming.”
“Was it my winning personality?”
Logan drew his brows together. “Allison, be serious. Please.”
“I’m sorry. I love you too, Logan and it builds every time I remember your concern for my daughter that day she called you. Every time I remember you standing up to William for me. Every time I remember the way you kissed me that very first time at the center—every time you look at me with those big, beautiful, brown eyes—I am lost in you. I feel loved. It’s not like what I felt with William...”
Logan tried looking away, but Allison brought his face back to her. “Listen—I feel light as air when I’m around you. I feel happy—I am happy when you’re around. It’s a different kind, a better kind of love that I feel coming from you for me.”
Logan smiled and kissed her lips. “Come on. We can take some of your things to my place so you can look it over, see if you could learn to be comfortable there. I have enough space...”
“Sweetie...Sweetie...” she cradled his face.”I'd be comfortable anywhere as long as it is with you. I thought you knew that by now.”
“Is that a yes?”
“That's a yes.”
Logan kissed her again and released her. “Alright. You go do what you need to do. I'll be ready when you are.”
Allison nodded and left him standing by the door. He looked out the front but didn't see anyone. It seemed William was gone. Frowning, he walked through the house and stopped in the laundry room to grab some clothes Allison had put in the dryer for him. Once he had them folded, he climbed the stairs to see her with a suitcase on the bed. He tucked his clothes in his duffle bag, stopped to kiss the back of her neck, before gathering his things from the bathroom.
“I'm only going to take my clothes, and the things in Emily's room.”
“I have three extra bedrooms, we can pick the one with the color she would like and put her things in there,” Logan replied.
“It's strange—all this time we just stayed here. I've never been to your place. Three extra rooms?”
“I told you, my parents left me in very good standing.”
“I remember. I just didn't figure an ex-marine to have such a large place.”
“I grew up in that house,” Logan explained. “When I was actually on this side of the world. My parents traveled a lot when I was younger so I barely spent time in the house. After they died, they left it and everything to me.”
Allison squeezed his shoulder affectionately and turned once more to her things. He saw sadness in her eyes before she looked away so he took her hand, sat on the bed and led her between his legs. Logan remained silent until she met his gaze. “Do you want him back? Do you want to try saving your marriage? I'm willing to step aside and give you that space.”
She shook her head.
“Let me finish. I long to see you happy—the same happiness you had when we sat around the table with Emily. If you think he can give you that, then tell me.”
“I can't believe you'd even suggest that!” Allison tugged her hands from his and walked away. She disappeared into the bathroom and Logan stared after her, blinking in confusion. When she finally stuck her head out again, it was to yell at him. “A year ago, the man left me for a younger model! He left me because he thought the grass was greener on the other side. Now he realized it's not. He can't cross back because he burned his bridge on the way over.” She walked back to him and pushed Logan back on the bed so she could sit astride his stomach. She glared down at him. “I want you, Logan. You make me happy. You make my Emily happy. You protected me. You make my body feel things I've never felt in my entire life. You! Can't you understand that?”
“Yes,” Logan whispered. “I can. And it almost killed me to suggest it. But I wouldn't be a man if I didn't give you that choice.”
“Oh hang being a man!” She shoved hard against his shoulders and he grunted. “I want you, Logan Montgomery. You.”
“Allison?”
“Yes?”
He grinned up at her and she arched a brow at him. “You are mad at me right?”
“Yes.”
“How mad?”
She crinkled her nose. “Very!”
“Well.” He shifted his body. He licked his fingers, pulled her panties to the side and impaled her with his finger.
She gasped. “Logan, I’m trying to...trying...to....”
He pulled the finger out and added a second finger. She bit her lower lip, tossed her head back and moaned while rolling her hips against his hand.
“You were saying?” Logan questioned.
“I can't remember.”
