Electrified by the Eel (Filthy Monster Erotica Book 2) Page 2

by Harpie Alexander

There was no warmth and comfort to be found in mating, not when it was temporary and only necessary for the survival of their species. He couldn’t help but grumble at the concept. To mate out of necessity and then forced to watch as the female he impregnated swam away, knowing she would abandon his young soon after birthing and leave fate to decide who would live or who would die.

How his species managed to survive for so long the horribly cruel world was beyond him, but if could help it, he would no longer give his seed to the cold-hearted females who sought him out only once a year. He would no longer be tossed aside as if he mattered so little to them. Nor would he send his young needlessly to their deaths. Not after having seen that poor elverling torn apart by predators after it ventured on land in search of food.

  Not anymore.

Sick of how the uncaring females of his kind treated males, he had spent the past year working diligently to relocate his dwelling far from his old home, and stocked his waters with so much fish and vegetation that it would easily confuse any female should they come searching. He was certain the massive influx of scents would not only drive them away, but force them to avoid his lake entirely.

In that moment, he felt the beginnings of his rut, searing his flesh with wave after wave of blistering heat. His cock, only half erect and still tucked away in his slit, felt raw and engorged. It was quickly filling with blood as it prepared to mate for several days on end. Fighting his nature was futile. Ignoring it…well, what Eelakwa could ever ignore the desire to rut? Even if he managed to steer clear of the females, there was no possible way he could avoid stroking himself to release over and over again. There just wasn’t.

A low hiss escaped from his lips—along with several bubbles—as he opened his mouth. Bubbles that could alert anyone above of his presence. Sealing his lips closed, he swam closer to the surface, using several thick reeds as cover. Eyes wide open, he scrutinized the shoreline above until he was satisfied no one was there.

There’s still time yet. I won’t know if it’s safe until the passing of the next moon, when our heats are over.

As he dove back down, his attention caught a spot that needed some adjustments. The weeds were too loose, they would need to be thickened and woven together with branches. His lake was as inhospitable as he could make it and only he knew the secret pathways though the mess on the bottom. As he worked, he became lost in his thoughts once more.

His kind were sensitive to the balance of the water. Too many tastes or odors in one area could overload an Eelakwa’s senses and force them out, even he on occasion would have a flare up from something he added in haste and needed to surface to cleanse his senses, but no one was more determined than he in his pursuits to evade the females. He experimented and accounted for problems and slowly built up his tolerance to the new additions. There were only a few plants he couldn’t tolerate and removed them when they became too much to bear. His overcrowded lake rarely gave him headaches or pained his sinuses anymore. Not only was he used to it for the most part, but he rather enjoyed the complex underwater realm he created for himself, compared to that of the sparse dwellings others of his species chose to live in.

It also adds protection for any younglings, should I ever be allowed to rear my own…

Uprooting another tall, willowy weed, he carried it to the mouth of his dwelling—a small underwater cave hidden by a shelf of rock—and planted it firmly in the murky sand in front of a large boulder.

  There, that should do it.

With the entrance to his dwelling completely hidden, and all the extra livestock making their home in his waters, Elar had high hopes that this year his wits would earn him a well-deserved reprieve. And while he wasn’t sure what effect having no relief from a female’s cunt would do to his body, in a way, he was eager to spend the next several days enjoying his heat without the sadness that always came afterwards.

  Part Two

  Luna

Luna ducked behind the thick trunk of a large beech tree. Sealing a hand over her mouth to quiet her quick, panicked breaths, she did her best not to move. The only thing she could do now was focus on slowing her mind and fight the crippling fear that threatened to make her screw up and expose her location.

Relax. Relax. You can get through this. Everything will be fine. He hasn’t caught you. There’s still a chance I can make it to the road and get help. Just need to lose him and circle back.

“Luna. Oh, Luunaaa.” The thick accent of Rick’s voice filled the air as he called out her name, languidly taunting her. “Where are you, Luna?”

Resisting her urge to peek around the tree, she redoubled her efforts to keep quiet, hoping the natural sounds of the bird perched in the branches, singing to each other and the rustling of leaves would hide the sound of her labored breaths.

“Come on Luna, do you really believe I don’t know you’re hiding out here? Did you really think I wouldn’t notice all the tracks you’ve left behind? Every broken branch and footprint in the dirt? You’re very bad at hiding them, I might add. It’s such a shame. It’s such a shame…I was hoping this hunt would be much more exciting,” Rick commented in a dry tone, indicating a bit of his boredom.

Something crunched a few steps away, but she couldn’t risk exposing herself by sneaking a look.

Please be a squirrel…or anything. Just not him.

“Luna. Come out and play, won’t you?” He sounded closer than a few seconds prior, much closer.

  Shit!

His taunting words caused her skin to break out in a nervous sweat. He was so close now. So very close it felt like he was on top of her. Worry crept through her mind as she nervously bit her lip. If he walked by the tree, surely he would find her. But if she moved even a fraction, there would be no avoiding his detection. The only option she had now was to wait it out.

Hope for the best, expect the worst.

Always expect the worst, people can’t be trusted.

Luna knew she had a rather skewed view on humanity, but she was who she was, and there was no changing it, especially not after everything she had been through in the last few months. The crime in the alley behind the restaurant she worked in wasn’t the only reason she preferred the company of animals over humans, but it certainly solidified her reasons. Animals were honest in their expectations and feelings, rarely deviating from their natural instincts and what drove them.

Humans, on the other hand, did whatever they damn well pleased. Killed who they wanted. Tortured when they felt like it. Lied when they could. Betrayed when it suited. Humans were untrustworthy and undeserving.

  Rick was no different.

“Gotcha!” he shouted, popping out from behind the tree.

“Stay the hell away from me!” Luna yelped, jumping away in surprise. Well, she knew he was bound to catch her, but she still held onto hope that he wouldn’t.

There were only a few feet between them now, but despite that, she did her best to maintain that distance. Rick ignored her boundaries and pressed closer by taking one giant step after another until he trapped Luna between him and a tree behind her.

“You know I’m not walking away from this. I can’t. I have a job to do and a reputation to uphold. Besides, I have a feeling you’re going to be lots of fun to play with.”

The word ‘play’ caused her to grimace in disgust. She didn’t want anything to do with the horrid man, much less ‘play’ with him. For all she cared, he could go straight to hell.

“You’ll never get away with this, you bastard,” she replied, trying to duck away from him. He met each and every one of her movements with his own, blocking her in.

His smug, lazy grin frightened her and deepened the insult, like her struggles were fodder to whatever sick fantasy was playing out in his mind. She could almost hear the reels turning, as if he was mulling over how much pleasure he would find in torturing her. Fear rippled along her spine. His brown eyes were dark with menace, and his crooked smile made her stomach want to lurch. The vi
le man standing over her was pure trash in all the ways one could emphasize the word.

“Hunny, you can call me Rick.” He leaned in even closer.

“I know who you are and I don’t want to call you anything except gone from my life,” she spat and moved as far away from him as she could.

“Don’t be like that, Luna. I told all my friends about you. The gang is so excited that they get to meet you,” he said, reaching out to caress her face. It was a mistake she was waiting for. Taking advantage of the opening he left for her, she bolted under his arm to escape.

“I’m not going easily you sick fuck,” she shouted over her shoulder as she ran through the shadowy woods.

With a quick scan of the sky, she noted how the sun was beginning its descent. Rick must’ve been chasing her for hours. Soon it would be dark, and while the obvious advantage was that she might have a better chance of hiding from her attacker, she also knew other predators would be out hunting unwary prey. If she didn’t find a safe place to hole up until morning, she could easily wind up dead. Though, the upside to getting eaten by a bear or a wolf, was that her death would be swifter rather than the pain filled, drawn out death Rick and his gang had no doubt planned.

  ***

The wind blew past her, whipping her hair as she dashed through the woods. No matter how fast she ran, Rick was right on her heels. She didn’t have to look behind her to know he was close, not when goosebumps tingled her arms.

“You might as well give up. You can’t outrun me forever bitch,” Rick shouted from behind. He didn’t even sound breathless. It was like he had just as much energy now as he did when he first broke into her safe house.

Suddenly, he reached out and snagged a handful of her hair. Luna jerked free, yelping as several strands were painfully ripped from her head.

“Please! Just leave me alone!” she cried over her shoulder, ignoring the burning pain in her scalp.

Rick sneered. “Not until we’re finished here. You thought you could rat on me? Now you have to pay!”

Just when she was about to open her mouth to respond, a loud unearthly howl filled the air, distracting her enough to lose focus on where she was going. Smashing her foot against a large rock wedged in the ground, Luna stumbled face-first onto the ground and cracked her knees against something hard. Pain shot through both her legs, but she didn’t care, not with Rick looming over her. Quickly scrambling back onto her feet, she gave up on running. She was losing stamina far quicker than she could regain it, and she knew it.

She spun around and raised her fists as Rick slowed to a halt, staring at her incredulously. In that moment of harsh, labored breathing, the world suddenly clicked into razor-sharp clarity. Every sound of the forest came alive, every color was extra vibrant. And then she noticed something strange. Whispers in the darkness. Feminine, ethereal voices floated in the distance. They were followed by strange and colorful orbs floating in the air under the trees. Similar to fireflies, but much prettier and more surreal, they blinked in and out of existence, always the same shape and size. They were magical and reminded her of something she’d read in a fairytale.

  What are they?

Reaching up, her fingers sifted through her disheveled brown hair, checking for a lump or bump. Had she hit her head? Was she hallucinating? Or going mad? Even if she was losing her mind, she couldn’t help but admire the sheer beauty of her surroundings. She paused, shaking her head. What was wrong with her all of a sudden? She couldn’t let herself become distracted now.

“You want to fight me now?” Rick asked with a sneer. “Let me make this simple, you’re coming with me one way or another and we’re going to make all the trouble you’ve caused disappear. How much it hurts is up to you.”

Ignoring the strange visual and audio sensory malfunctions, she focused on her assailant. The leer on his face told her that he always got what he wanted. But not this time. She wasn’t going to give in so easily. Not after what she saw him do in that alley. The way he beat that cop was a memory still fresh in her mind as the day it happened. Luna knew one thing: in no way was she going down like that. She refused to allow Rick to ‘make the problem disappear.’

“You think I’m stupid? I’m not going anywhere with you. You’re just going to kill me like you killed that cop. I don’t owe you anything except for maybe a kick in the balls! The only person causing trouble is you! You think you own the city? Own the lives of others? You’re wrong!”

“No, you’re wrong. No one cares what a small city girl like you has to say. Even if you do testify against me, you’ll never win. We have people everywhere and the police are still scrambling to figure out who we have in our pockets. You’re fighting a losing battle, but a pretty girl like you can make it out just fine…if you join us. I’ll give you a chance to prove you can be a nice addition to the gang, even put you up in a convenient little apartment. You don’t have to die just yet.”

Her face wrinkled in disgust. Join him? Why would she ever do that? Why would she ever stoop so low? No. Joining them was not an option, even if it meant a horrible fate awaited her instead. “You mean lock me up so everyone can fuck me whenever they want right? Sorry jackass. Not going to happen.”

His face grew darker, or was it the shadows the sky was casting on him? The remaining light from the sun dipped beyond the edges of the horizon. It was nearly night now, and there was a growing sense of unease in her heart. Many eerie sounds came from the woods, especially after dark. She heard many of them from inside her house at night. It was why she’d never strayed very far from the back porch after sundown and why she worried about Leara whenever she ran off into the woods. Despite the beauty and wonder the country land provided her, something just wasn’t right about the forest. It was a gut feeling, an instinct that told her to guard against the dark woods.

As day faded further into night, the whispers in the darkness grew louder, closer, the speakers still hidden in the shadows behind the trees. The darkness only accentuated the bright orbs, making them more obvious than before. What was once a few littered here and there, were now hundreds scattered all around them.

What are they? Where the hell are we?

Rick glanced around, finally noticing them too, and while he appeared visibly disturbed by the lights and the whispers, it didn’t stop him from lunging forward to wrap his hand around her upper arm to pull her close and trap her against his torso.

“Get off me!” she demanded and dug an elbow into his chest.

Rick snaked his arm around her and squeezed, impeding her struggles. Luna resisted still, straining against him for as long as she could, but when that effort failed, she changed tactics and went limp in his arms, causing him to stumble at the sudden weight. If he wanted her that badly, he was going to have to drag her all the way to his car, if he could even find his way out.

“Stand up! Stop being so damn difficult!” he complained with a loud grunt as he fought to hold onto her and make her do what he wanted.

The hissing whispers in the shadows turned angry, growing louder.

“What the hell is that?” Rick asked nervously, turning towards the menacing sounds.

The hint of fear in his voice made Luna smile unsympathetically. Whoever was out there watching, listening, Luna hoped it might just be the distraction she needed to make her escape.

“Don’t know, don’t care, but it sounds like they don’t fucking like you. Let me go dammit! I’m never joining you or your gang. You’ll have to kill me to keep me quiet!” she growled, wriggling and kicking against him even more.

She didn’t care to discover the answers of the strange forest, it didn’t matter right now. All she wanted was to get the hell out of there and as far away from Rick as possible. It was dark enough now that if she managed to get free and run, it would be more difficult for him to find her. If she had to, she might be able to hunker down somewhere and avoid him until morning.

The hissing grew deafening, and she felt a tremble of uncertainty run through
Rick’s body. He turned left and right, trying to watch the lights now growing closer from every side.

“Who’s out there? Show yourself!” he ordered, dragging her backwards with him.

Luna felt his body tense as he struggled to determine who was watching them. Curious herself, Luna raised her eyes. Her gaze trailed over the strange lights between the trees until she spotted something. Tingles ran down her spine when she realized that many of the lights were actually bright yellow eyes watching from the tree line just a few yards away. She gulped, there were hundreds of them. Dozens of pairs of glowing eyes accompanied the hisses she had been hearing for what suddenly felt like hours.

  What…are they?

A single pair of fearsome, golden eyes landed on her. The creature watched for several long moments, noticing how she still struggled to break away from Rick, before it stepped out from behind the trees, finally emerging into the poor light of the clearing and slithered towards her. Then another one. And another one. Luna froze, shocked.

Soon there were many of the ethereal creatures staring down at them with their bright eyes. They were tall, beautiful, and not at all human. And every single one of them was female.

In the dark, the beings could almost pass as human. As long as you didn’t look at the lower body. Luna’s mouth opened in slack-jawed wonder as she watched the first one, who seemed to be a leader of some sort, approaching her and Rick. The creature was big and stood much taller than Rick, its muscular body worked effortlessly to close the distance between them.

Obviously female, the leader’s body was covered in glistening, opalescent, peach colored scales that started at the crown of her smooth head and trailed down her entire body. Just below her bare, bountiful chest, they slowly darkened into a blend of deep purple and black scales. The being had no legs, instead slithering along the ground on a long, thick tail like a snake, but with her upper body held erect.
