Yet all he wanted to do was take her to bed, for days, and reacquaint himself with every pleasure point on her body.
“Welcome to the Island of Aman,” he said with a smile, extending his hand to her. The tension and worry dissolved from her face, opening her features. She clasped his hand, squeezing his fingers with enthusiasm.
“Lucy Edwards,” she told him, meeting his gaze, feeling the weight and enormity of this moment in which their true selves were identified, out in the open. When they no longer hid behind personas they had created to protect themselves.
“Jeevan Khatkar,” he said, never happier to cast Vikram Singh off into the wind.
Lucy stepped into his embrace, allowing his large arms to encircle her. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she whispered into his ear. “Finally.”
