Isabel and Cloud
Page 5
“Hey,” said Scarlett, lobbing a damp sponge at her. “You’re miles away. I bet you’re plotting dorm domination at the quiz tonight!”
“I wasn’t, actually.” Isabel threw the sponge back, chuckling as it splattered against Scarlett’s shoulder. “I was thinking how rubbish my mates are and how we’ll probably lose because someone from Sapphire dorm will shout out red bum or unicorn poo!”
“Oi! We heard that.”
Suddenly wet sponges were flying at Isabel from all directions.
“Joke!” she squealed, hurling them back. “Cloud, help! You’re a water unicorn. Save me!”
With a clatter of hooves, Cloud came to the rescue, using his magic to turn the water in the drinking trough into a fountain and spraying everyone, including Isabel. They squealed and shrieked until he stopped.
“Saved you!” he said to Isabel, his eyes shining.
Isabel shook off the water and flung her arms round Cloud’s neck. “Yes,” she said, her heart feeling as if it would burst with happiness. “You really did.”
