Blue Roses (Reunited Series)

“I think you’re right, but speaking of shocked, I saw the article in the paper about David. I don’t think 125 years in prison is enough for him. The thought of him taking millions of dollars from people breaks my heart.”
“Girl, don’t even get me started. It’s hard enough as it is to encourage people to invest their hard earned cash and he goes and pulls some nonsense like that. Thank goodness William had contacted the SEC when he got suspicious that David was involved in something illegal.”
“That surprised me, but it explained why the SEC started investigating the firm all of a sudden.”
Dallas shook her head. “I’m glad this is all behind me. I get angry all over again when I think about the crap David put me through. For weeks I had nightmares about him and Jerome.”
Simone frowned. “I didn’t know that.”
“I thought I told you. That was one of the reasons I started seeing a therapist. After about three months the dreams stopped, but I haven’t stopped seeing the counselor yet. I still have a lot of baggage from my childhood to deal with.”
Simone hugged her. “I’m so proud of you. You’re finally taking care of yourself.”

“I’m glad you’re feeling better.” Tyler kissed his wife’s soft lips. They had closed the door to their last guest, and were now sitting in the family room.
“Yeah, me too. For a while there, I thought I would have to be holed up in our bedroom all day. But after the Popsicle I started feeling much better.”
“Good. I would’ve hated for you to miss your own celebration.”
“You mean our celebration.” She touched her hand against his cheek, loving the smooth feel of his shaven skin.
“You’re right, our celebration. We have a lot to celebrate, Mrs. Hollister. This past year has been wild. Sometimes I still can’t believe you’re back in my life and that we’re married. I couldn’t have planned this past year even if I tried.”
“I know,” Dallas sighed wistfully. “I love you so much.”
Tyler gathered her in his arms and moved his mouth over hers. His lips sent shivers of desire flowing through her. “I love you too, and I plan to spend the rest of my life showing you.” He stood and reached for her hand. “I’m thinking that since we’re still newlyweds, we should probably go upstairs and do some newlywed stuff.”
“Oh, really?” Dallas smiled at her handsome husband. “And what exactly do you have in mind?”
“Well, if you come with me, Mrs. Hollister, I’ll show you.” His eyebrows wiggled up and down suggestively.
Dallas laughed. “Lead the way, my love. Lead the way.”
