Special Thanks to a Special Few...

This is book two so now it gets serious: which special people are still there for me as I cling to my pipe dream, and which new people made a difference?

1neFLO Entertainment: Bryce Bettencourt, Lincoln Legore, and Enzo Morra---your team made my girly dream of having a dress-up/dance-a-thon book launch party for “Year of the Chick” come true! Thanks for an amazing night.

Juveria Collins: I can’t believe we manage to have fifteen-minute catch-up/encouragement sessions at Chipotle. Only a true friend could inspire me in so little time.

Sarah Levine: because we work together as a team of two EVERY day (it’s so fun!---sarcasm), I had to tell myself you were only reading my book to be “nice.” And so....when I found out you bought another copy and mailed it to your sister...well let’s just say “aww” and leave it at that.

David Levine: I know you’re not related to Sarah up there (I thought that would be funny, haha), but you are one of the coolest, wisest, and smartest Internet pals I have. You’re also so kind to help me edit my work (seriously, I can’t believe I used the word “vomit” so many times!). Thank you.

Jasmine Diaz: as I finally started breaking out of my shell in these last two years, I would think of you at times, and how you broke all the Indian stereotypes to find your way. You are easily an inspiration, and I love your enthusiastic e-mails!

Jessica Donatis: Holy crap: getting to know you in the last two years has been amazing! Your constant encouragement on my book dreams and our inside jokes (CBT!) get me through all those tough writing nights. Thank you!

Laura Tashjian: you are perhaps the strangest person I know, which also makes you one of the best. Please never stop being as awkward and random (and heart-of-gold-like) as you are, it’s inspiring!

Emily Robertson: you’ve made me a better person, since you showed me how to be friends with hot girls without secretly hating them---haha! On a serious note: you make it so much easier to navigate the shady single world, thanks for always being there!

Laura Guida: One of my favourite things is meeting you almost every Friday for authentic Italian cappuccino and Nutella biscotti. Not just because I love how those Italian employees fawn all over us, but mostly because that weekly dose of life-talk and dream-talk and boy-talk and never-giving-up-talk...well it means more to me than I can express!

New York City posse: Ute-Christin Cowan, Justin Cowan, Neil Evans, and my golden girl Maren Janssen: knowing you guys has led to the best adventures of my life so far, including meeting the most unforgettable person ever. May the adventures continue, and thank you for always being there for me when things got ugly!

All those awesome readers of “Year of the Chick:” Here’s hoping my obscurity is soon replaced with massive popularity and jewel-encrusted goblets, but no matter where this goes, the small army of “Year of the Chick” champions, those who posted such amazing comments and encouraged me to finish book two...YOU will never be forgotten.

Last to mention but never in last place...Paul DH Baylay: first of all, I can’t believe book two is already out there! Secondly, I can’t believe that with very little notice and a very full life of your own, you stepped right into place as the best story editor ever. I’m so lucky to have you around to elevate my writing. Also: thanks for the funny YouTube clips involving cats.
