“That’s not all we need to get,” Greg said. “We need to get a place to stay. Folks are going to want to start taking weekends and weeks at the cabin. Vacation season is nearly upon us.”

“I’ll go wherever you want to go.” Yesterday, she’d promised herself she was going to say that to them first thing. She’d been distracted, first by the questions Greg had raised with the investigators about Drummond Pierce, and then by Cody’s request for help.

Last night, when they’d finally unwound enough to go to bed, they’d all simply clung to each other and then gone to sleep.

Now, she said, “I mean that. I can paint anywhere, as long as I have some light. Now that I’ve found you both, I don’t want to be anywhere that you’re not.”

Greg turned off the county road and stopped the truck while the gate swung open. Once they were through, he said, “As much as I want us to spend the rest of this afternoon and evening making love, I think we need to talk, first. So let’s make some coffee, and settle in at the kitchen table and do just that.”

“Good idea,” Cody said. “I think it’s time—past time, in fact—that we all laid it all out.”

  * * * *

“Sit down and relax, Blue Eyes. We have this.”

Rebecca sat on one of the padded kitchen chairs and watched the men as they worked together to put on a pot of coffee and set out the small pastries she and Greg had picked up at Lusty Appetites.

Greg wasn’t, apparently, the only one with a sweet tooth. While Cody bit into one of the pastries, Greg went into the great room, and came back a few minutes later with the folder his grandmother had given him.

“Me, first.” Cody met her gaze, and then Greg’s. “I owe you both an apology. Because I refused to admit that I needed help—because I let what happened to me when I was a kid cloud my judgment—I was unable to fulfill my responsibilities to us yesterday. Please forgive me. I know that today was only the first session for me. But I already know, this is going to work.”

“I told you that love means you never have to say you’re sorry.” Rebecca reached for Cody’s hand. “When you love someone, you love them, warts and all. That means you make allowance for human failings, and when the one you love is hurting, you hurt, too, and only want them to be better.”

“What she said,” Greg said. “The only thing that matters to us is that you get to where you’re at peace and happy in your own self. Besides, boyfriend, you’re not the only one who let us down.”

Greg reached for Cody’s hand, and then Rebecca’s. They were connected, the three of them, which was how she liked them to be, best. “I’ve gotten in the habit of holding back my emotions, sometimes.” Greg sighed. “Not that I lie—I don’t do that. But when I feel stressed, I tend to close myself off. I know when I developed that habit, too, and why. It was during the year I spent with Daniel.” He paused. Rebecca heard the catch in his voice. She understood how hard this was for him. She squeezed his hand and gave him what she hoped was a smile of encouragement.

Inhaling deeply, he continued. “Because this love that we share between the three of us is good, and positive, and uplifting, I can see now that what Daniel and I had wasn’t any of those things at all. I’ll never know if we might have brought it around to being a healthier kind of relationship.” He shrugged. “But I do know we both would have had to change, fundamentally, for that to be so.”

Rebecca recalled what Cody had said of what he’d learned about the way Daniel had treated Greg in front of others. She thought perhaps the one in that relationship who had needed help the most was Daniel. She wouldn’t think badly of the man. Greg had loved him, and he was dead.

“Because of the way I was, I’ve cheated you, Cody—and you, too, Becca. I’m going to try very hard not to do that ever again.” Greg exhaled heavily, and grinned. “Wow, that was a long time coming.”

“It was,” Cody said. “And I’m really grateful you can finally see that. Don’t beat yourself up over the mistakes you’ve made, lover. We’re all only human.”

“No, I won’t. But I really am going to do my best to face life with my eyes wide open from now on—and to stop withdrawing into myself. It shouldn’t be that hard. I know I’m safe with the both of you. I don’t want y’all to doubt that, not even for a moment.”

“We don’t,” Rebecca said. “Bad habits are easy to form and hard to break.”

“They are,” Cody said. “You need to know, Greg, now that you’ve said that, we’ll hold you to account if you begin to slip into that denial mode again.”

“Yes, please. I expect you to.” He leaned over and gave Rebecca a kiss. Then he kissed Cody, too.

“Now, as to this.” Greg nodded at the folder. “This is a hell of an opportunity to do something that makes a real difference in the world.”

“You’ve been making a difference for a long time, darling,” Rebecca said.

“Thank you, sweetheart. But this could help us make an even bigger one—and we can manage this, the three of us, as a team. I think we could split our time between being here, in Texas, and being wherever we have to be to help carry out the foundation’s work.” He met her gaze and then looked at Cody. “I’d like to stay here in Lusty for a while, right now. I think you’d benefit, lover, from not going anyplace for a few months. The tranquility here, on top of your sessions with Robert would help you as you work on your issues. That’s what I think. What do you think?”

“I think for the first time in my life I have a place that actually feels like ‘home.’ So yes, I’d like to stay for a while. But you said we’d have to leave this cabin soon.”

“There’re a lot of houses available in town. We could pick one,” Greg said.

  “Just like that?” Cody asked.

“Pretty much,” Rebecca said. “Or, we could pick one temporarily, and have our own house built on one of the parcels of land just outside of the town proper.”

“I like that idea,” Greg said. “We could have a studio built for each of you, and an office I could work in, for the foundation. Plus, we could have some space, be in a more rural setting.” He raised his eyebrows comically. “So that we could indulge in naked outdoor hot monkey sex when the urge struck.”

Rebecca laughed. “I like that idea a lot.” In fact, just thinking about hot monkey sex was making her twitchy. She looked at Cody and smiled when he adjusted the way he was sitting in his chair.

“How long would that take?” Cody asked. “To build a house like that?”

“I’ll speak to the Town Trust, and put the ball in motion. But I think that by this time next year, we could be settled in that house. Plus, it would give us a permanent place to come back to—and a place to raise kids. And that brings me to the biggest thing of all.”

Greg met her gaze and then Cody’s. “I love you both, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to marry you both. Please, say yes.”

“I’ve been in love with you for a long time,” Cody said to Greg. “And you,” he turned to Rebecca. “You, I fell in love with practically on first sight. And then with each day, I discovered new things about you that just made me love you more. We all three mesh, when I didn’t know that that sort of thing could happen for me. I want the three of us to be a forever family.” Cody raised her hand to his lips and kissed it. “But how do you feel, really, Rebecca? Taking on two men who are in love with each other—that’s a lot for any woman to consider.”

“It is,” Greg agreed. He brought her other hand to his lips and copied Cody’s action, kissing it. “We want you to be sure it’s what you want, sweetheart.”

Rebecca looked from Greg to Cody. She wondered what she could say to convince them that she really did want to spend her life with them, in their own particular brand of ménage family. And then she smiled, because she just thought of the perfect way to show them that she knew her own mind about this, and had for some time.

She looked at Cody and said, “Do you remember that first night you arrived
here—or should I say that first morning? Do you recall that I knew who you were?”

“I do. It surprised me, when I was no longer so dead tired and could think about it. Greg said that a mutual friend of yours had told you about me.”

“That is the truth, and that’s what I told him. But it kind of goes further than that. After I heard about your being in Greg’s life, I looked you up online.” She grinned. “I also looked up a lot of the wire service archives to have a look at the kind of pictures you’d taken—and I bought your book, of course. Being an artist, I know you can learn a lot about a person through their art.” It was kind of silly to be blushing, especially after all the three of them had done together—but there it was. She looked at Greg. “Why don’t you go to that room I was staying in when y’all arrived, and bring me what’s in the closet, please? You’ll know what it is I want as soon as you open the closet door.”

Greg raised one eyebrow and she knew she’d aroused his curiosity. She said nothing when he met Cody’s gaze. Both men shrugged, and then Greg got up and went to do as she’d asked.

He was back moments later and she held on to the urge to grin as he came into the kitchen holding a canvas. It measured three square feet, and she could see not only that he was looking at it, but that the painting confused him. She’d used softer colors, smudging them in places to represent the blur of motion, as well as to make the work appear more interpretive than was usual for her.

After all, she’d been painting not what was already, but what she hoped, one day, would be.

  “What is it?” Cody asked.

“Lend me your photographer’s eye and help me figure this out, please,” Greg said. He moved a chair close to the wall, and then carefully set the painting on it. He stepped back and stared at it. Cody got up and stood beside him, and for a long moment, neither man spoke.

“My God!” Cody said at last. “It’s us. It’s the three of us, making love.” He turned to face her, and she nodded.

  “I named it ‘Forever Love’.”

Obviously, now that Cody had pointed it out, Greg could recognize their faces. Rebecca thought she’d done a pretty good job there, now that she could compare the actual man with what she’d rendered.

Greg also turned to look at her. “How?”

Rebecca met his quizzical gaze and answered his question. “I was trying to convey my hopes and dreams. It’s really only ever been you for me. And, I knew in order for you to be happy there’d have to be another man. Because I loved you, I felt fairly confident I would also love any man you fell in love with. You’ve heard of speaking something into existence? I was painting something into existence.”

“So, no doubts at all, then?” Cody asked.

“Not a one. And the answer to your questions, Greg, Cody, is yes. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, too. Yes, I’ll marry you both.”

  “Come here, baby.”

Greg’s voice shook when he said that, and Rebecca’s heart melted. As she approached, they each opened their arms. She took those few steps toward them, and then one more into them, and felt them enclose her within their heat and within their love.

“Let’s go upstairs to that big-ass bed and get naked.” Cody ran his hand over her back, and she could tell by the way he moved he was treating Greg to the same affectionate gesture. She let her gaze drift down and could make out the unmistakable shape of his cock pushing against his jeans. “Let’s see what we can do about making Rebecca’s art come to life.”

Rebecca sighed. “That sounds like a lovely idea. Since we’re beginning our happily ever after, can we get completely naked? I had myself tested before I left Seattle. I’m clean. I’m also on the pill. For now.”

Greg bent down and kissed her, a gentle, questing kind of kiss. “Yes, baby. We can be completely naked. We’re safe, too. And we’ll discuss your being on the pill,” he said. “But later.”

The heat in his eyes, the reflection, love, and the lust combined, nearly stole her breath. She glanced at Cody, wanting to share that incredible sensation with him, only to find an identical passion in his expression, too.

  “Yes,” Rebecca said. “Later.”

  Chapter 23

Naked, they resumed their embrace, the three of them each with their arms around the others. Rebecca closed her eyes and inhaled the scent of her men, the musk and the sweat and the essence that marked each of her lovers as unique. Combined, their aroma created a one-two punch to her libido the like of which she’d never known. Her nipples contracted into hard buds and her cunt heated and became moist.

She looked up and met Greg’s gaze and then looked at Cody. “The first time I saw you two kiss, I had an orgasm.”

  “We remember.”

She grinned because the men had both said that at the same time, and both of them wore identical sappy grins.

Cody said, “I damn near came in my pants when I felt you coming.”

“You weren’t the only one, boyfriend,” Greg said.

“I wonder what would happen if I watched the two of you do more than kiss?” Just the idea of watching them together thrilled her. The emotion between these two men was so pure, and so beautiful. She craved the opportunity to watch them, to have them trust her enough that they would love each other freely in her presence.

Greg and Cody exchanged a long look, and then Greg bent down and brushed his lips against hers. “Why don’t we find out?”

Rebecca smiled and copied Cody’s gesture of earlier. She stroked each of their backs, and when they moved in closer to each other, she felt the ripple of their muscles, and the quiver of their excitement and their need.

Contact created friction, and as they kissed, as their tongues intertwined and as their cocks brushed, one against the other, their body heat rose, pulsing their mouthwatering fragrance into the air.

Rebecca stepped back, just a half step, so that her men could embrace more fully. She wondered if her presence would inhibit them, but she discovered almost immediately, it didn’t.

They leaned in, and their hands roamed freely as their kisses seduced. Fingers brushed shoulders and necks, and caressed against nipples. Rebecca could have sworn she felt the coarse hair under her own hands as they explored each other’s chests. When they pressed closer, when palms cupped taut ass cheeks, Rebecca’s arousal grew.

“I love you so much.” Greg’s words, wrapped in kisses against Cody’s face and neck, swelled with emotion. Greg’s hands traveled up his lover’s back and then around until he cupped Cody’s face. “I was so terrified, so afraid I was going to lose you, when I’d never told you how much you meant to me.”

“You’ll never lose me, Greg. Not ever. I love you. I will always love you.”

She’d never seen a ballet as graceful as the one they performed as they moved to the bed and then moved over and on each other. They kissed and cupped, lapped and grasped and stroked. Words would have been superfluous, for the emotion shimmering between them as they loved surpassed mere words. Tiny sounds of pleasure, of masculine arousal strummed Rebecca’s senses and kissed her flesh with a feather-light brush of pleasure. Unable to stop herself, she reached down to stroke her slit, her fingers dipping into her cunt, finding it wet and hungry.

Tiny little shivers of Eros raced through her as the scent of sex, hers and theirs, surrounded them all. They turned on the bed, a slow, gentle rotation until they were in the perfect position to stroke and kiss each other’s cocks. She sighed when, as one, they began to lick, and then took each other’s cocks into their mouths. Their eyes closed, and their cheeks hollowed as they pleasured each other. Her lovers were lost in their love of and for one another, and Rebecca bit back a moan of her own. She’d never seen anything so beautiful, and so erotic, in her life.

She knelt on the corner of the mattress, lost in the passion of their loving. Watching them made her hotter, and she continued to pinch her nipples and tease her cunt with her own hands. Her fingers delved into her pussy, a slow fucking motion t
hat she unconsciously synced with the rhythm she could see in their cheeks.

Movements slowed, became sinuous and lithe and graceful, as hands stroked and mouths loved. She heard their desperation, their growing need in the deep, resonating moans and sighs and growls they made. Their breathing hitched, and Rebecca knew she wasn’t alone in approaching orgasm.

Grace and patience fell away, replaced by a fine desperation that coated their flesh with sweat. Fast and furious now, they gave, they took, and Rebecca stared, transfixed, as the excitement, and the arousal, and the drive toward completion took over. Her breath caught as their race to pleasure heightened, as they both stiffened, and reached their climaxes together. Rebecca pinched her nipple hard with the fingers of one hand and her clitoris with the fingers of the other. Everything coalesced, drew together, and became sharp and shivery as she joined them. Her rapture gushed from her in tiny waves of celebration, spilling out onto her hand.

Rebecca slid to her haunches as she tried to catch her breath. On the bed before her, Greg and Cody still held each other, arms around hips, faces turned to the side against bellies, their breathing ragged.

Greg turned his head slightly and met her gaze. “Well?”

“Hot. Holy. Hell.” Rebecca sighed. A tiny shiver of aftershock washed through her.

Cody snickered. “It was pretty hot knowing you were watching us, Blue Eyes.”

“And playing with yourself while you did,” Greg said.

Rebecca smiled. Her orgasm hadn’t been as good as it would have been if it had been their hands pleasuring her, but it had been pretty darn good nonetheless.

  “Come here, sweetheart.”

Rebecca really had no time respond to their request on her own as both men moved, and reached for her at the same time. Before she could blink, she found herself lying between them, facing Greg with Cody spooning her. Despite the orgasms both men had enjoyed, their cocks were already stiffening against her flesh. It wouldn’t take much, she knew, to get them as hard as steel.
