  About the Author

  Barney Norris was born in Sussex in 1987, and grew up in Salisbury. Upon leaving university he founded the theatre company Up In Arms. He won the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright for his debut full-length play Visitors, and his play Nightfall will appear in the inaugural Bridge Theatre season in April 2018. He is the Martin Esslin Playwright in Residence at Keble College, Oxford and has been named by the Evening Standard as one of the 1,000 Most Influential Londoners.

  His first novel, the critically acclaimed Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain, was a Times bestseller and won a Betty Trask award. It was also shortlisted for the Ondaatje Prize and Debut of the Year at the British Book Awards. Turning for Home is his second novel.
