Revenge (Out For Blood Book 1)

When Taz hands him a shot glass filled with glowing green liquid and a purple pill floating in it, Oreo wastes no time handing it over to me.
“What is this?” I question, eyeing the drink suspiciously.
“Your answers, my dear. It’s not everyday that we come across someone in need of an awakening. So tempting, just like your brother. Too bad you belong to someone else. A couple of someone else's I’d guess. I can smell their bond on you.”
“Have you lost the plot? You know I have no clue what you’re talking about, and what the fuck is floating in this shot?” I growl. I needed answers, not some weird ass drink from a hot crazy person.
“If you want to find your brother, you need to down the shot, or don’t. It’s your choice.”
With that parting thought, Oreo turns and walks away, leaving me dumbfounded once again. I stare suspiciously at the shot, particularly at the purple pill as it turns through the glowing green liquid, almost hypnotizing in the middle of the shot glass. On the pill is a picture of a flaming eye reminding me of the Eye of Sauron in the Lord of the Rings movies, and I swear it blinks at me as I gaze deeper.
Glancing back at Taz the bartender, I shrug, calling out “Bottoms up,” and down the shot in one gulp.
It’s almost anticlimactic when nothing happens. I mean, I don’t know what I expected, but big fat nothing wasn’t it.
“Can I do anything else for you?” Taz drawls suggestively, lifting his brow in a cheeky way as he cleans a glass behind the bar.
“No. You have been very helpful. Thank you,” I say, dropping another hundred dollar bill in his tip jar.
Vacating my stool, I stroll over to an unfamiliar gold plated elevator. I don’t remember seeing this here before. Maybe it’s new. With Oreo the crazy pants incubus gone, disappearing somewhere in this building, I figure I will have to search around on my own. What the fuck is a incubus? Isn’t that the male version of a succubus, and did he imply he fucked my brother? At least the crazy fuck killed one of O’Donnell’s people, and I don’t have to worry about any more of them coming here. As the elevator moves up to the top floor, a strange feeling overcomes me. My whole body feels tingly, and it vibrates with some kind of unleashed power. When the doors slide open again I know I’m high as fuck because words could not describe the madness in front of me.
You know that Maroon 5 video Cold, when Adam is walking around the club, and he sees all this crazy shite? That’s exactly what I’m seeing in front of me right now. People crowd all around me, bumping and grinding to the music, but something about them seems so unnatural. A chick with purple eyes and fairy wings flutters right past me to a guy with thick horns coming straight out the top of his head. He has a tail that he uses to wrap around her leg and slide up her short skirt. Another girl in a tight red dress with red devil horns and a long forked tongue gyrates in the middle of the dance floor while men with glowing red eyes watch on, captivated by her writhing body.
What the fuck did they give me? Is the top floor a costume theme or something?
Above me, scantily clad women with huge bat wings writhe up and down the poles hanging from the ceiling, stripping to the music for men seated around them in floating chairs and tables. A huge aquarium shaped like a sphere sat near the middle of the dance floor with what looks like a mermaid with long flowing pink hair and a teal tail swimming inside. There was no seashell bra for her, instead her full breasts were covered by many strands of pearls. All around me little pixie people flew around the room serving drinks and taking orders. In fact, the longer I stood here the more this all seemed right. It was like a blindfold was lifted from my eyes, and I was seeing the world for the first time.
Letting my instincts take control, my body drifts all around the dance floor, and I could not help but to writhe and move my body to the music as it transfixes me. My mission of finding my brother now long forgotten. Maybe not forgotten, just set aside for now. Song after song I dance, sometimes alone, sometime with a couple of people. I feel free, like the bird Maddie always wanted me to become. As if conjured by my thoughts alone a pair of hands tightly grip my hips, and the familiar scent of vanilla and fresh brewed tea assault my nostrils as he holds me close to his body. Turning slowly I feel like I’m falling when my eyes lock onto a familiar pair of golden orange irises that remind me so much of freshly turned leaves in the fall.
As he watches me, his eyes seem to glow in the dimly lit room. A sense of nostalgia settles over me as I take in his familiar features. His porcelain clear skin, his dark, luscious hair, he wears in a shaggy style with the tips dyed purple covered, and an old fashion top hat tilted to the side. Maddie is breathtakingly beautiful when you take the time to look past his many piercings and see the man hidden underneath.
His delicious plump lips smile down at me wickedly as he says, “Hello, little bird.”
“Maddie,” I whisper.
In response he pulls me closer to his body, taking my breath away as he grinds himself against my body. It’s been so long since I last saw him. Two years in fact. Since that fateful night that O’Donnell ruined. Like with everything he does, he destroyed us and cemented into my mind how much of a monster he really is. After that, he took Maddie from me, and I haven’t seen him again. Until now.
“Rumor has it, my little bird has flew the coop,” he whispers seductively in my ear.
“Are you here to kill me?” I ask.
Tilting his head to the side, he regards me with an intense gaze, considering my question like he’s trying to solve a puzzle.
“What a funny question. Quite odd, and slightly mad. Have you gone mad, my precious Shadow?”
I contemplate his question. Have I gone mad, or is it the drugs?
“Then why are you here?” I ask, trying to clear my foggy head.
“Now that, little bird, is the right question,” Maddie says, twirling me in circles around the dance floor and then pulling me back to him.
I know better than to try and pry an answer out of him, so I let him lead me around the dance floor as I take in his sinful body.
The loose muscle shirt he’s wearing dips low, showing off his sculpted, tattooed chest, and my eyes roam over his lean muscled pecs. I remembered this chest covered in sweat as he held my hands above my head and drilled into my body like he was digging for gold. Flashes of a torn memory make my body burn with need. He’s always been covered in tats, but I notice a new one covering the whole right side of his neck, a bird flying free, and a burst of love and appreciation swells within me. My eyes roam down to his tight leather pants and the many buckles on his combat boots.
Chuckling, Maddie interrupts my inspection of his body, and I gaze back at him with love in my eyes.
“Do you like what you see, little bird?” he teases, lightly kissing the corner of my mouth.
“Yes,” I answer honestly. With Maddie he never made me feel ashamed because of my thoughts or feelings. I guess that’s a perk of knowing someone so intimately.
I watch his eyes dilate as he peruses my body with a heated stare. His body presses close to mine, and I can feel just how much he’s missed me. I smile, glad to know I’m not the only one affected by this reunion.
Sighing, he tells me, “I’m here to warn you. O’Donnell didn’t just send The Circus after you and your brother. He also sent someone much worse.”
“Who could be worse than The Circus?” I question, giggling and still high as a kite.
“I don’t know him personally, but I do know that he has the ability to find you. He will lure you out, and then my little bird will be caged again. You need to leave here. It isn’t safe,” Maddie says sadly.
“Is it ever? Our lives are never safe. Come with me, Maddie,” I plead, suddenly panicking as I consider the full repercussions of his warning. “If O’Donnell learns that you warned me he’ll--he’ll--.”
I can’t bring myself to finish the thought. Even as high as I am, I still know the consequences of incurring O’Donnells wrath, and I fear f
or Maddie right now.
“I’ll be fine, little bird. Your eyes are open now. Soon you’ll know. Fly away, my love.” Maddie insists, pushing me away and breaking my heart all over again.
A tear rolls down my cheek, and as soon as I lift a hand to wipe it away, Maddie is gone, and I’m left standing in the middle of the dance floor alone.
I’m snapped out my grief when a hand grabs my arm.
“There you are,” Hunter says, pulling me away from the crowd. “It’s been way past an hour. We’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
“Where the fuck have you been?” Hunter demands once we’re in a slightly secluded hallway.
“I found Oreo,” I answer, still reeling over Maddie and too distracted to be irritated by Hunter manhandling me.
He taps his foot impatiently. “Ok, did you find out anything about your brother?”
“Yes and no,” I tell him, reveling in his touch. It may be an inappropriate time, but his touch feels wonderful. I want to rub up against him like a cat.
“Well, which one is it? Yes or no,” he growls, looking slightly annoyed. I run my hands up his arms in a move that makes it obvious I’m trying to feel him up. He gives me an odd look and snaps his fingers in my face. “Are you high?” he asks astounded. Apparently I used up Hunter’s quota for patience.
“I don’t know. Maybe. Oreo gave me this glowing green shot, and it had a purple pill in it, and then I came up here because he said he was an incubus. Wait, maybe he said that before I swallowed the shot. Anyways, yeah, I came up here, and I wanted to dance with the the fairies at this weird costume party that may not be a costume party because they had stripper poles. Do strippers go to costume parties?” I inquire. “ Anyways I saw Maddie, and he said -.”
“Wait! Hold up,” Hunter says, interrupting my rant and holding his hand up. “Just stop.”
I watch confused as he pulls his phone from his back pocket.
“Yeah, I found her. Dude, I don’t know where she’s been, but she’s high as fuck right now. She said one of those Circus freaks was here. Yeah, I know. I’ll meet you out there.”
Hanging up the phone, Hunter grabs my arm and starts to drag me towards the elevator.
“Maddie is not a freak,” I say out of nowhere.
“What?” Hunter asks, raising his brow.
“You told Cody that Maddie was a circus freak. He’s not. He’s just mad. We all are,” I whisper.
“Ok, on that crazy note, I really need you to stop talking now.”
We find Cody parked at the club, waiting for us, when we exit the club. As soon as Hunter opens the passenger door and tries to push me in, a feeling of urgency takes over my body. Adrenaline pumps in my veins and my heart feels like it’s beating a hundred beats per second.
“I’m not getting in there,” I tell them in a panicked voice.
“What the fuck, Remy?” Hunter shouts. “We don’t have time for this shit. Get in the fucking car.”
“No,” I shriek. I blame being high, because I can not explain what comes over me. I knee Hunter in the nuts and take off like the hounds of hell are after me.
Fourteen
It had to be you
Following the strange pull, I take off towards the West. I have no clue what is going on, but I don’t slow down, not even when I hear Hunter’s footsteps as he chases after me, shouting my name. Running down an alley, I leap onto the fire escape ladder, skillfully climbing it despite my tight dress. I pull the ladder up when I reach the top so that Hunter can’t follow. Running across the roof, I jump to the next rooftop. The feat should have been impossible, but I guess in my highly paranoid state, I can do the impossible.
Leaping through the air, I jump rooftop to rooftop like Batman, following that strange feeling of urgency like a beacon. I pause only when the feeling starts to change, evolving into a tingling sensation. I look around and examine my surroundings. Nothing stands out, and I have no clue why I ran here in the first place. Suddenly a figure steps out the shadows, and as quick as lightning, he grabs me by the neck, throwing me forcefully against the building’s hard exterior wall.
“Time’s up, little wolf,” he growls in my ear.
For a second time tonight I’m struck silent by a beautiful man. Unfortunately for me, it seems this one wants to kill me, considering the current death grip he has on my neck cutting off my air supply. Wide eyed, I stare into a pair of mismatched colored eyes, one a greyish blue and the other hazel green. I don’t fight. I don’t even try to pry his grip from my neck. All my training and badassery forgotten as I willingly submit. I realize I don’t want to be free, even if he kills me.
Just as suddenly as he threw me against the wall, he lets go of my neck and pulls me to him. He wraps strong muscled arms around me and hugs me tight to his chest. That urgent feeling that drove me here vanishes and a strong pull takes its place, driving away all my common sense. Instead of trying to get away like a normal person, I wrap my arms around him and squeeze him tight, breathing his scent in deeply.
He smells like lavender and rain, an odd combination, but so uniquely right.
“It had to be you,” he whispers into my hair.
“Are you an incubus too?” I ask, pressing my body closer.
“No, my love,” he replied breathing me in. His heterochromia eyes twinkle like the stars littering the night sky, and I’m overcome by the love I see shining through them.
“Who are you?” I whisper softly.
“Yours.” He kisses me roughly with all the passion in the world.
Pushing me back against the wall, he lifts me up, palms tightly gripping and kneading my ass, as I wrap my legs around his waist. Sliding his hands down, he rips away my lace knickers like they offend him, never moving his lips from mine. He kisses me like a man possessed, all tongue and teeth, and I have no willpower to stop him, or his fingers that relocate themselves under my dress, rubbing my core and frantically circling my clit.
“God, you’re so fucking wet,” he growls into my mouth.
Moving his hand deeper, he pushes two of his fingers inside me, and I almost come undone. He fucks me with his hand until I’m shamelessly bouncing in his arms, working myself on his fingers and trying to get them deeper. With my juices coating his findinger, he rubs my clit faster, and I come hard, screaming into his mouth as he kisses the sound away.
Keeping me pinned against the wall, he unbuckles his jeans, and soon I feel the hard tip of his cock toeing at my entrance.
“If you want to stop you need to tell me now,” he says, voice rough and on edge.
One corner of my mind shouts that this is completely insane. He’s a stranger. Hell, he tried to kill me just minutes ago, but another irrational part of me just doesn’t care. This feels right. Mine, I growl in my head.
“Don’t stop,” I pant, kissing down the column of his neck, sucking hard and leaving marks.
No sooner are the words out of my mouth he impales me all the way to the hilt, making me cry out for all the world to hear. He shows no restraint as he pounds into my pussy. Drilling in and out of me, hands gripping so tight onto my ass, I’m sure his fingerprints will leave marks behind.
“So fucking tight,” he groans.
Pulling out, he slams back into me, driving into me again, and starts to fuck me harder, moaning and biting my neck. All I can do at the moment is hold on tight for the ride, moaning and screaming into the clear night. This time when I come, I rear my head back and strike, biting hard where the column of his neck and shoulder meet, drawing blood. After a couple more forceful thrusts, he spills his seed inside me, and my hungry pussy gobbles it all up. When he’s done, we’re both breathing hard as he lowers me gently to my feet. Taking my lips again, he kisses a trail down my neck where he bites me in the same exact place that I bit him.
After that, it seems like everything falls into place. I feel like I’ve known him a thousand years instead of mere minutes. That string that tugged me toward him wraps around our bodies, linkin
g us together. A warm, burning sensation tingles on my neck, bringing with it an intense feeling of completeness.
“Silas. Your name is Silas,” I say softly. He presses a tender kiss to the spot where he bit me in response. When I look into his mismatched eyes, I see nothing but love and adoration.
“Why do I feel this way about you?” I ask, confusion starting to settle in.
“So many questions, my love. I wish I had time to answer them, but you need to leave. Hangman and Kelpie are not far from here.”
“I don’t understand. How do you even know that?” I question, growing even more confused with each passing minute of this bizarre night.
“I don’t have time to explain,” Silas says, kissing me again quickly and pushing me towards the fire escape. “You need to trust me. Leave London immediately. It won’t be long until they find you. I can lead them away from your trail, but by tomorrow you need to be gone. Your brother is somewhere along the coast.”
“I’ll find you again, my love. Stay safe,” Silas yells before he disappears off the rooftop.
Bewildered, I shuffle toward the alley’s exit, and it doesn’t take long for Hunter and Cody to find me walking down the empty street.
