Images of Rose from today replay in my mind. The connection I felt when she touched me was . . . What am I thinking? She works for me. Besides, she’s all business, all the time.

Shit, I’m living the life most guys only dream about. I have money, fame, millions of fans across the globe, houses on both coasts, people to do my bidding at the snap of my fingers and a very steady diet of gorgeous women. There can be nothing wrong with my lifestyle if it’s the American dream. Right?

Looking up to the ceiling, lyrics start to form. Grabbing my trusty notebook, I scribble down the words that are tripping over themselves to come out.

  Dear Fabulous Reader,

Thank you so much for reading Hold On and finding out about Cole’s younger, wilder times! Even though he doesn’t get his HEA in here, I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into his life ~ and early interactions with Rose.

I loved writing this novella for so many reasons. First, I’m more than a bit in love with Cole, and just couldn’t let him go after finishing To Have and to Hold (Book #3 in The Hold Series). And several points of this novella were poignant for me, especially his interactions with his mother.

Second, during the editing process, we moved. So, some of the real estate scenes hit very close to home (pun intended). Unlike Cole, however, we saw over a hundred houses before we found “the one.” Also unlike Cole, we couldn’t leave the renovations and decorations to someone else while we toured the country! (a girl can dream ~ or write about it!)

Third, I’m a die-hard concert fanatic. I love going to concerts and absorbing the great energy, both in huge arenas and intimate halls, such as the Phoenix concert at the beginning of this novella. There’s nothing like the rush of hearing Adam Levine play live!

Thanks for indulging in more intimate times with Cole!

Hold On couldn’t have happened without the support and encouragement of so many people! Doreen Dalli-Majana, your smile, positivity and optimism always touch my heart. I hope you like how your namesake turned out!

To my #1 fan, my husband ~ who always holds my hand and smacks my butt when needed!

Thanks to my Mom for her never-flagging words of support.

My critique partners, Noella Phillips and Michelle Bond, are two of the most amazing women ever. They don’t let me get away with anything, which is why I love them!

My professional team is the best! I am so lucky to have these super-talented women on my side. Editor Angela Polidoro, proofreader Virginia Tesi Carey, and cover designer/formatter Cassy Roop of Pink Ink Designs turned the text in my laptop into the story you just enjoyed.

A big thank you to my betas ~ Freddie Bonaire, Rekha Dave and Gwyn Novak ~ who gave me invaluable comments and thought-provoking insights that I never considered.

To Arell’s Angels, you ladies rock!!! I love your excitement and positivity!! I’m looking forward to even more fun times in our wild group!

What can I say about the Bad Ass Bitches?! Maria Luis, Sonnie Wolf, Danielle Norman, Jessica Peterson, Sophia Henry and Lisa Fay, you ladies truly are superwomen. I love you all so hard!!

Hugs to the many wonderful people who have continued to support me though my writing journey, especially Tracy Moyer Wilt, Vicky Bomer, Kerri Curtis, Lilly Wilde, Wendy Hamlin, WT, Candice Benson, Greg Merkle, the sexy ladies of the Playroom, my former walking group-mates Maddy, Anita, Judi and Shari, and the amazing authors in the NJ chapter of Romance Writers of America.

To everyone who picks up this novella, I hope you enjoy finding out more about a younger Cole. And if you do, please share with your friends, and write a review.

  Rock on,

  Arell

For as long as Arell Rivers can remember, she has been lost in a book. During her senior year in college, she picked up a Danielle Steel novel … and instantly was hooked on romance.

Arell started writing her first novel because the characters were screaming at her to do so. The story started coming out in her dreams and attacking her in the shower, so she took to the computer to shut them up. But they kept talking.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Arell has what some may call a “checkered past.” Prior to discovering her passion for writing romance, she practiced law, was a wedding and event planner and even dabbled in marketing. Arell lives with a very supportive husband and two mischievous cats. When not in her writing cave, Arell is found making dinner in the crock pot, working out with Shaun T or hitting the beach.

Arell is a member of the New Jersey chapter of Romance Writers of America.
