Pretending to be blind to get a woman was equally the stupidest and bravest thing I've ever done. Stupid, in that I thought I'd fool anyone into believing I was, but brave, just for the fact of trying and the sheer audacity of my ploy. Plus, on top of that I met Emma, my beautiful fiancée, so in the grand scheme of things, I’m actually pretty clever, if you think about it.

Since I came clean and took the dark glasses off, things have been good, not GREAT. I wouldn't want to be the one to liken it to a superhero being unmasked – I'll leave that to others – but it's been refreshing and the new life I have now is something much better than I've had before. Ever.

Like with most relationships, we’ve come a long way and have committed to spending the rest of our lives together. This is the story of the lead up to the big day.
