Santa Claws: A Holiday Shifter Romance

Her breasts bounced as she rode me, big and pert. Her perfect face was drawn tight with pleasure and she was biting her lip to stifle the screams. God, she was so gorgeous. So amazing. I’d never know what I did to deserve such a strong, fierce, and sexy mate.

I let her feel my love, feel how much she turned me on, and how much I admired her strength. Holly’s eyes flashed towards me, mirroring the affection plastered in mine. I pulled her towards me for a kiss. Our tongues touched in an electrifying dance, and I shifted, flipping so she was now pinned beneath me.

I cradled her face, kissing her over and over as I thrust into my beloved. I craved this intimacy, needed this connection. I was still staring into those pine-green eyes when she came again, her walls crashing around me, squeezing my cock so tightly that I came immediately. I groaned, low and deep, as the pleasure dragged me under, dragged us both under, to that special place of warmth and infinite bliss.

I couldn’t kiss her enough. The feather-light brushes of my lips against her forehead, cheeks, nose, and mouth, couldn’t contain, couldn’t possibly do justice, to the enormous love I felt for my mate.

  “I love you,” I whispered.

“I love you,” she smiled back.

I rolled to my side, spooning her in my arms, and held her as we both fell asleep.

  Holly

After another delicious round of mating when we woke, Jace propped himself on an elbow and pinned me with a serious stare.

“Why were you so freaked out last night?”

I knew what he was talking about, the feelings he’d felt through the bond when Addie and Zander made their announcement. I wondered how to put it, contemplating brushing it off, but I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to be anything but transparent and honest with my mate.

“I got freaked out because they just became mates. Things happened so quickly for them. I’m not even used to being part of a pack, let alone being a mom.”

  His dark brows knit together.

  “You don’t want pups?”

“Honestly, I hadn’t seriously considered it. My life has been running from place to place, half in the wild, half in the human world. I’ve been so focused on these hunters, I never considered what life could be like outside of them.”

“We can take it slowly. Maybe use a condom?”

We both frowned as he said the words. The idea of him spilling his seed into anything but me was abhorrent to both of us. I laughed.

“I guess the whole point of finding a mate and going into heat is to reproduce. No wonder we find condoms so repugnant.”

“I don’t see what other options we have,” he mused. “If you want to take it slow, that’s the best thing to do.”

“I know, but…maybe I just want to take things as they happen.” I shrugged, feeling the truth of my words. “Because even if all of this is new and strange, I do like it. I never realized how much I needed it.”

Jace’s eyes widened. He’d never known the kind of solitude I had. He’d had the benefit of a loving family and pack his entire life. And he’d had a good life, a happy life. One that was far better than the life I’d been leading up to now.

“I still want to see those hunters brought to justice,” I said, rolling onto my back and looking at the ceiling. “But maybe…maybe I could enjoy the domestic life.”

His wide, grinning face edged into view.

“Life with a family of our own? You, me, and a pup or two, maybe even a cub?”

“Maybe they’ll all be cubs,” I giggled, “us polar bear shifters are rare, you know.”

“Then it’s my solemn duty to help repopulate the planet with your offspring,” he said, his voice growing serious.

“Get us that house first,” I swatted away his advances as I hopped out of bed. “Then we’ll talk offspring.”

I dashed into the bathroom, closing the door behind me. That warm, happy feeling flooded my chest again, and I realized that this was how it felt to belong somewhere, to be a part of something. I smiled and grabbed my toothbrush as I got ready for the day.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, Jace leapt towards me out of no where. I jumped back into the wall, and grinned when I saw what he was holding above us. Dangling from his finger tips, the dark green leaves and white berries couldn’t be mistaken for anything else.

“Mistletoe,” he said, stepping closer. “Now you have to kiss me.”

“Nothing like a kiss under the mistletoe,” I murmured against his mouth, standing on tip toes.

He kissed me until I was breathless and tingling with pleasure.

  “Merry Christmas, Holly.”

  “Merry Christmas, Jace.”

Yes, I thought, looking into his sparking sapphire eyes, feeling warm and safe. Like I was home. Yes, I could get used to the domestic life.

  Damien

Those shifters thought they’d ditched us. It was clever of them, for the lumbering female to change back to two legs and run off riding that wolf. The beast was too fast. Even though we were trained to run long and far, there was no way Cerena and I could keep up with it.

Didn’t mean we couldn’t track them.

It took Cerena and me less than two hours to come across that mall. I made her go back to get the truck while I kept watch. I’d learned the hard way not to leave Cerena unsupervised with shifters.

She liked playing her her food a little too much.

So she’d done the bitch work while I staked them out. It wasn’t until they came out of that mall that I realized what had happened—why they were unusually strong tonight, even for the Full Moon.

We’d come upon a mated pair in the rush of their heat. The lovebirds were too enamored, too distracted with one another to noticed how I’d tailed them to that gas station. I remained hidden in the shadows, as I’d been trained to do my entire life.

I committed to memory the license plate of the car that picked them up, then texted my location to Cerena.

It was child’s play to trace that car back to an address in Portland, Oregon. We’d taken a day off to celebrate Christmas with our clan, and now we were back on the road, headed south.

  To the Barkley residence.

We were under orders not to attack. This was surveillance only. Cerena slept on the passenger side while I drove, her bandaged arm cradled in front of her. I didn’t wake her when I got to the cute, normal neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. Right by the woods.

Small, secluded, the kind of area no one would bat an eye at—the perfect location for a pack of wolves to hide amongst the sheep.

I drove slowly, and when I passed by the Barkley’s little yellow house, a young woman stood out front. Long-limbed, she was bent over, making a snowball. A cascade of straw-blonde hair shielded her face, and when she at last stood, her dark eyes lingered on me.

Something hitched in my chest when I saw her.

I couldn’t explain it, but I just wanted to know her, talk to her. She was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. I couldn’t stop watching her in the rearview mirror. Those eyes were still on me, like she was just as powerless to stop watching.

Almost as if she felt the same inexplicable pull that I did.

It was a shame she was my sworn enemy. I’d probably have to hunt her down some day soon.

  WILLOW

There was just something about that man in the car. I couldn’t look away from him. Even through the driver’s side window, I could see penetrating, icy blue eyes, cold enough to make me shiver.

In a good way. A very good way.

The little black car turned a corner and he was gone. My heart sank.

I hoped I’d see him again someday.
