  Elizabeth blushed lightly and watched as Mr. Darcy shifted to the seat next to her and took his hands in hers.

  “Are you nervous?” he asked warmly, his voice low. Elizabeth sighed.

  “I am, I cannot lie to you,” she said, flashing him a small smile. “I love Pemberley, and I wish to do it justice. I was hoping we could speak, at some point, about your father’s use of magic for the land. Fitzwilliam, I would dearly love to give my aid as I can, if you would be amenable to it. I was thinking it could be highly effective if we—”

  Mr. Darcy let out a bark of laughter and stooped down to catch Elizabeth’s lips with his, surprising her into silence. Elizabeth flushed and leaned into his embrace, bringing her hands up to cup his face as she eagerly returned his kiss.

  When they broke to catch their breath, Elizabeth bit her lip and let out a small laugh.

  “But truly, Fitzwilliam, I really do think it is worth discussing. I read a spell in one of Mary’s books —”

  “Elizabeth. Darling, dearest Elizabeth,” Mr. Darcy said, pulling one finger up to her lips. “For now, let us speak only of our marriage, our happiness, and this wonderful day before us. We have our entire lives for magic.”
