Hitta's Tea Maker 2

That brought a smile to my face because it warmed my heart. “Nehemiyah…” I repeated, trying it out on my tongue. “I like that.”
He smiled. “Yeah?”
I nodded. “Yeah…”
“And so it is,” he whispered, gazing down at his son lovingly. “On this day, Nehemiyah was born.”
At some point, I nodded off. I woke up to the sound of the nurse quietly showing Hitta how to change the baby’s diaper. When she left, he picked his son up in his arms and what I saw next caused tears to come to my eyes. He went down to his knees in front of the hospital window, holding Nehemiyah close to his heart, and then bowed his head and began to pray.
The Narrator
Shantell stood looking at herself in her bedroom mirror. She turned to the right admiring the way the blue smock lay on her fit body. She’d started to get the pink ones because they were cuter but didn’t not wanting to draw unnecessary attention to herself.
Angel had just given birth to the baby that should have been hers and before the night was over, he would be. Shantell will show Hitta just how much he needed her by being a better mother to his son than his stupid wife could ever be.
She’d left a note to her mother, explaining to her that she was going to have to leave for a while. She didn’t tell her why because she didn’t want them to be able to trace the missing baby back to her. So, she only told her that she was going to be gone, but if all goes according to plan, she will have a beautiful family when she saw her again.
Then she secured safe passage for her and the baby to get out of town without being detected. The only thing left to do was for her to get past hospital security and make it up to the maternity ward. But thanks to her little disguise, she didn’t think she would have a problem.
After taking one last look at herself in the mirror, she turned to head out of the door but froze when she saw Lannox standing there blocking it with his hands stretched over his head as he casually leaned against the door frame.
“Ye know, ah loue whin mah victims mak' mah jab easier, dinnae ye Lannox?”
She gasped when Maddox’s big body seemed to suddenly appear next to her before he gently caressed her cheek with his gloved hand. Lannox smiled and slowly nodded his head. Shantell opened her mouth to scream, but the only sound that made it through her throat was that of her vertebrae being snapped in half.
The Epilogue
Angel
1year later…
Hitta popped my hand as I tried to fix the handkerchief in his suit jacket. “Baye, gone, please…” He grumbled as his hand flew across the game controller while trying to see around me.
I frowned at the little cloth that didn’t want to sit right in his pocket before I went to work on it again.
“Angel, move!” he cried struggling to see around me. “These young thugs trying to run one on me!”
Jessie and Lyric both had a controller and was viciously doing battle with Hitta’s avatar on the screen, but I didn’t care about any of that. Westly was on his way and I wanted everything to be perfect. It had been a whole year since I’ve seen my brother and I was so nervous.
I’ve kept in touch with him over the last year and it sounds like he’s doing really well for himself. He has a steady job at an aluminum factory that he’s had for a little over nine months. It sounded as if he was also in a relationship because he’d asked if I’d mind if he brought a guest. I was so proud of him.
“Hitta! I don’t care about that stupid game,” I hissed before I snatched the handkerchief to fold it again.
“Awww, Angel!” he growled just before Jessie and Lyric started jumping around doing a victory dance.
“Loser, loser…” Lyric sang jumping around, sticking her tongue out at him.
“Ain’t it time for you to go home? When yo’ parents coming to get you? You got to wait on the porch,” Hitta growled, tossing the controller angrily to the side. I bit my lip to keep from smiling when I heard the music on the game that indicated someone had died.
“Unc, you suck at this game!” Jessie yelled pointing at him. The whole time he looked up at me with a disappointed look.
“You see what you did?” Ignoring his question, I stuffed the cloth back in his pocket. “Woman!” he snapped, tapping my hand away again. “You bugged me about wearing the suit, now leave me be!”
His astonished gaze went to Greatie. “Can you help a brotha out?”
She chuckled from where she sat in one of the chairs by the fire sewing a shirt she was making for Nehemiyah. “I ain’t in it…”
Speaking of Nehemiyah, he was leaning against his father’s leg drinking his sippy cup and some of his juice was dripping down on his little suit. I reached for him, but Hitta popped my hand again.
“Don’t start harassing my son.”
That was it! I put my hand on my hip, getting ready to lay into him, but right then the bell rang.
“Oh wow! They’re here!” I screeched before removing the apron from my waist that I had on to protect my dress as I put the finishing touches on dinner.
“Come on, girls,” I called as I hurried to the door throwing it open. “Westly!”
He stood looking very handsome in a suit, looking just like the debonair gentleman I remembered from childhood. Standing next to him was a beautiful woman with short locs and a warm smile. When he opened his arms for me, I threw myself in them and nearly cried when I felt muscle.
Thank you so much, Heavenly Father!
“Come on in, guys.” I stepped to the side so that they could come in.
“Angel, this is Sybil. Sybil, my baby sister, Angel.”
“It is really nice meeting you. I’ve heard so much about you,” she said reaching to shake my hand.
I reached for a hug instead. “We hug around these parts, sis.”
“Most definitely,” she said before squeezing me in a warm embrace. I liked her already.
“Sybil is one of the organizers at the home. I wouldn’t have been able to make it this past year without her.” Sybil blushed deeply at Westly words.
I hugged her again. “In that case, let me hug you again, sis, I am deeply in your debt.”
“No worries. It was my pleasure.” She blushed again when Westly winked at her.
“Come on in, let me introduce you to everyone.” I turned to see, Jessie, Lyric, and Hitta, holding Nehemiyah in his arms standing behind me.
"This is Jessie," I said pulling my niece closer. I could tell she didn't want to go because she was very stiff.
Although she acted like it was no big deal that her dad was coming today, I knew it was, because she insisted we invite Lyric over to spend the night, and I know she clung to her best friend whenever she was emotionally stressed about something.
Sensing Jessie’s hesitation, Sybil held her hand out for her to shake. "It's nice to finally meet you, Jess. Your dad talks about you all the time.”
“Nice to meet you too,” Jessie muttered as she shook her hand.
Westly squatted down in front of her. “Hey, baby.”
“Hey, dad.” She was still muttering, which wasn’t a good sign. My worried gaze went to Hitta’s. He reached out his free hand, taking mine. That simple act was enough to help me to remain calm and not freak out.
After Westly called last week and told us he was going to be coming to town, Jessie went quiet on us for a few days. Finally, not able to take it anymore, we took her out to her favorite pizza restaurant to loosen her up for a little chat.
It took a little prying, but Hitta was finally able to get out of her what was wrong.
“Are you guys going to give me away now?”
My mouth opened as if I’d been slapped. I reached for her hand. “Never! What are you talking about?”
“My dad’s coming. Does that mean y’all want me to go and live with him now?”
“Hell no! If he even think about taking you away from us, he gon’ have a big problem on his hand.” Hitta grumbled.
Jessie’s exci
ted gaze shot to his. “Really? You’ll fight for me?”
“Lil mama, I’ll go to war for you. You one of mine! We stay together!” She jumped up from her chair and threw her arms around his neck. He and I shared a What The Hell look as he tightened his arms around her.
“Never doubt that, shawty. You belong with us!”
“And this is Jessie’s best friend, Lyric,” I said to continue the introductions. “My husband, Hitta and our son, Nehemiyah.”
Hitta shook hands with Sybil, she told him that one of the newer residents at the home was a huge fan of his and asked her if she would get his autograph for him. He assured her that he would and moved to stand in front of Westly. There was a brief moment where neither of them spoke, they just stood there sizing each other up. These two haven't had the best history. Then Westly grinned big and threw his arm around Hitta’s shoulder.
“What’s going on, bro!”
I exhaled a breath I hadn’t been aware of holding before turning to introduce Greatie, but not surprisingly, she wasn’t there.
Mercifully, dinner went over without any more of those awkward moments. Jessie loosened up a bit and started being nicer to her dad after Hitta whispered something in her ear.
Later, after everyone was gone and we got the kids settled into bed, Hitta and I sat in front of the fire playing a game of chess.
“What did you say to Jessie to get her to loosen up?” I asked as I moved my queen, two more moves and I was positive I would have him in Checkmate.
“I told her I didn’t care for her dad all that much either, but that we needed to make her Tee-Tee happy so we should at least fake like we do. Then I told her to follow my lead.”
My mouth opened. “Hitta!”
He chuckled. “Hey, every man is held accountable for his actions.” He put his hand on his chest. “I ran from my responsibility for a long time, the result of which was those headaches. I had to face myself and then defeat myself. Only then was I set free. And HalleluYah, I haven’t had a headache in over a year.” He held up his finger.
“But in that year’s time, I had to repair a lot of things and relationships I damaged in my stupidity. Yo’ brother faced himself and defeated himself, now it’s on him to repair the relationships he’s damaged in his stupidity. Checkmate…”
My gaze flew down to the board. “No way!” I gasped, studying the board.
Y’all, I was still a sore loser. When I saw that he had in fact Checkmated me, I flew out of my chair at him, ready to beat him into the ground. But he was waiting for me, grabbing me out of the air and bringing me to straddle his lap.
“You are such a savage, Teacup…” he whispered as his gazed lowered to my lips.
I licked them before I grinned. “Yeah, but I’m your savage.”
“Damn right! Now and forever…”

The Prologue
We were given: 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 arms, 2 legs, but only 1 heart. Why? Because we were supposed to find the other.

My feelings for Carmen used to be innocent enough. Although they’ve never quite been parental, they were definitely that of a mentor looking out for his young pupil…
A pupil who at many times made me want to pull her across my lap and give her the spanking that her mother or uncle should have given her years ago.
Only…
Of late, the thought of spanking her is stimulating a different part of my body than when she was a little girl.
No!
I had to fight those thoughts. She’d just turned nineteen and the last thing she needed was a man ten years her senior perving after her. Dear God, if she really knew how I felt about her, she’d run far away and never want to see my face again.
I didn’t always have to call on a higher power for restraint when dealing with Carmen.
Restraint from what, you ask?
Well, restraint from a couple of things…
One being restraint from strangling her. She has a way of testing the very patience I’ve always prided myself in like nobody else… including my father, and that was saying a lot because I could not tolerate him at all.
And…
Well…
When I didn’t want to strangle her… Of late, I find myself having to pray for restraint from having inappropriate thoughts of her…
Thoughts of tasting her…
Thoughts of ripping off one of those little skimpy gym outfits she’s always prancing around in front of me in from her young, supple body and filling her until she begs for me stop because she can’t take coming apart for me not one more time.
Yeah, I know… I’m a sick bastard to have these feelings for my employer’s young niece. Trust me, nobody has beaten me up about this more than myself.
But like I said, it wasn’t always this way. At first, it was so very innocent indeed.
When I got that call from the Department of Children and Family Services the night Williamina, Carmen’s mom got locked up for shooting her neighbor in the head, telling me that Hitta had been named Carmen’s guardian, I was dumbfounded.
Who in their right mind would leave their female child with Hitta?
I’d gotten the call pretty late; my employer had gone to Venezuela with a little honey dip for the weekend and unsurprisingly, wasn’t answering his phone, so the duty to retrieve the brat fell on me. I was a little aggravated because I too was entertaining a honey dip of my own and she’d just told me she had a twin sister who was dying to join us.
Needless to say, when I got down to the police station to see the little fourteen-year-old blue-haired hellion threatening to tear up the station if they didn’t release her mom, I was not amused, not even a little bit.
That night, I learned something about Hitta’s family; they were all violent as hell. I listened horrified as the officer explained to me what happened.
“The young lady in there threatening to hit Officer Donoghue in the eye says that her mom was simply defending her from the creepy guy next door when she decided to put a bullet in his head.”
At the time, I’d been drinking a bottle of water trying to hydrate myself in hopes that it would sober me up a bit, but after hearing his words, I ended up spewing the water back out.
“Excuse me, did you say her mother shot someone in the h
ead?”
With a knowing smirk on his face, he nodded as both of our gazes turned back to the young hellcat who was now yelling at the top of her lungs that she was going to sue for the way she was being treated.
Up until that point, I’d heard Hitta talk about his family, but I’d not really been involved in that part of his life. What he did after hours was not my business, unless of course, my phone rang involving me, like it did that night.
However, I did know that he was very fond of this particular niece and spoiled her something fierce… I knew this because although that was my first time laying eyes on her, I’d orchestrated many purchases for her. Whenever she wanted something new, she called her uncle and he made sure she got it every time.
From what it looked like, he’d created a monster.
After filling out all the paperwork…well, at least all of it that I could, the rest would need Hitta’s signature, the officers couldn’t wait to dump their little headache on me.
“Who the f*** is this a**hole?” she asked as soon as they brought her out of the interrogation room to where I stood waiting for her.
“Young lady, you really should watch your mouth!” one of the female officers snapped at her.
Carmen rolled her beautiful eyes. “Thank you for your opinion, ma’am…now here’s mine, the next time they come through with the box of donuts you pigs love munchin’ on, you really should decline.” She threw up her hands. “But hey, that’s just my opinion.”
My mouth dropped. I could not believe she’d just said that.
The officer who told me what had happened turned to look at me with a smirk that clearly said, good luck.
