The Ravaged Fairy
Page 14
The door opened and Breena straightened her form. Across from Gran stood a fairy as tall as Thame with long, black hair tied behind his head and a scowl on his scarred face. His red and black wings fluttered, was that a nervous reaction? Breena had a feeling he knew damn well how to use that sword on his hip. He wore his loincloth low, and her eyes dipped there but quickly returned to the scar that seemed to overwhelm his handsome features.
“I was just leaving,” he spoke.
Was that his voice? It was raspy and thick from disuse.
“Keyn, wait please,” Gran murmured but he was already out the open balcony doors and into the sky.
“So that’s the infamous Keyn.” That is not what she expected.
Gran nodded and shifted on the bed to face her. “How are you feeling?”
Breena gave a small smile. The woman was amazing. “I’m okay, Gran.” She moved to the bed, sitting beside her with her eyes drifting to the window. “I didn’t know her the way you did. You’re me mother more than anyone in the world.”
She leaned forward and hugged her. “That’s the one thing Grace did right. She had you.”
Her eyes clouded with tears and she hugged Gran tight to hide them.
“I’m all right, Iníon.” She pulled away and patted her on the shoulder.
“How about we go for a tour of the kingdom and maybe see Thame’s house?” She stood and wiggled her toes in her shoes.
“You haven’t been wandering have you?”
Breena grinned. “Only me eyes, Gran.” To tell her the truth might get Thame killed, so she tried to hide the blush that crept into her cheeks.
“Just...be careful. Fairies are more moody than normal men.”
Thame’s snort came from the hallway and Breena giggled as Abigail gave him a threatening gaze. “What? You disagree?” She stood all her height, which didn’t compare to his muscled six foot frame and raised her chin.
“No, my dear Abigail, I agree completely.” he winked at her that seemed to disarm her stance.
She frowned and then a small smile grew on her lips. “So, are you going to show us this place or stand there and gawk at her?”
“Gran!” Breena closed her eyes and shook her head but heard Thame’s delighted laughter.
“I’m gawking at you.” Thame laughed even harder as Gran snorted and led the way toward a day of exploration.
They hadn’t gone very far, just out the palace doors, before Gran asked for a ride to see the kingdom from above. Breena couldn’t hold her laughter and Thame’s color paled. “Go ahead, I’ll wait right here.” He sent her a look that was a form of ‘I’ll get you for this’ and wrapped his arms around Gran. She was all smiles as he lifted them off the ground and into the sky.
Breena grinned wider, poor guy. If they stayed here she’d probably ask for a ride a day. Would she stay here? It’s not like they had a house or glamorous life to return to. Would he ask them to remain? Suddenly the future seemed unsure and she plopped herself down on a rock wall that kept a bed of dirt and bright blue flowers at bay. What were they going to do now? With all the crap going on, she hadn’t thought of it even once.
A flutter of wings brought her back to the present and she looked up with a fake smile expecting Thame. Instead, another fairy approached. She’d seen this one before and struggled to recall his name as he landed before her. It was hard to forget green hair on a man that would make any sane woman drool. “Wick?” she asked a little unsure.
“That would be me.” He smiled, a genuine no worries kind of smile. “How are you?”
“Um...ask me in a few days.”
“Well said.” He nodded. “I do believe these are yours.”
To her surprise and mortification, he proceeded to open his hands. Her bra and panties from last night were curled into his big palms and her mouth dropped open. Where was a troll when you need a distraction? Her mouth flopped open to speak but nothing came out. She looked like a whoring panty-free fish.
Wick winked and leaned closer. “If you ever want to play with two fairies, I’d be happy to accommodate.”
Now she couldn’t speak. Did he just propose to sleep with her and Thame? She stood up to fast and tried to shake her head. Balance had to be her worst attribute. She stumbled a bit, and squeaked when Wick reached out to stabilizer her.
“No need to get scared. We don’t all enjoy biting.” Another wink.
Shite, the man was insane. “No...thanks.” She wanted no man but Thame. As hunky as Wick was, he had no appeal like that of her golden fairy. He shrugged his shoulders and seemed to be unfazed by her refusal, which was a good thing in her eyes.
“Ah, well, I had to try. See you around Breena.” He bowed, an actual courteous bend and walked into the palace with a skip in his step. She grabbed the lingerie set where he dropped them on the bed of flowers and glanced at the sky. Did she have enough time to run inside and shove these under her mattress or in the closet or anywhere they wouldn’t be seen. By the close flutter of wings, she highly doubted. Breena stuffed the material between the budding flowers and made a mental note to retrieve them later. Then she turned to greet the two people she cared for more than anything in the world.
She had been flown to heaven. Breena stared around at this amazing place and still couldn’t believe she was on earth. Sure, the waterfall had impressed and the sunflower over the top divine then came the rest of this wonderful kingdom. The homes here were more like pieces of a castle, huge and colorful with wind chimes hanging beside each door. This path was rudimentary, compacted dirt but she hadn’t tripped once. The best part was being between Gran and Thame. Gran looked as awed as she felt and Thame kept smiling.
She couldn’t imagine him not smiling. It brightened his features and made her want to smile along with him. Those giant sunflowers were even amazing from the ground. The stems were prickly just like a normal sized flower. Breena ran her hand along it before glancing up at the huge petals, her memory shifted to their wicked night atop one.
She watched in delight as fireflies came with sunset and the hovered over Thame like he was covered in honey. She would have to put that on her list of things to do. Her golden fairy covered in honey sounded too good to pass up. He took a breath, looked deeply annoyed by the bugs but didn’t swat them away. After a few more feet they must have lost interest because they wiped by her and left Thame in peace. “Those things are attracted to fairies?”
He nodded. “Abigail, Breena, I’d love to give you a tour of my house.”
As beautiful as the kingdom was, this is what Breena had been waiting for. She nodded swiftly and hid the foolish grin that was surely planted on her face. They walked a little further before he pointed to the nearest castle-like dwelling. Large, gray stones were packed tightly. It reached three stories high with large windows and a golden dome top. The red door was right next to the path, a wind chime that portrayed a fairy in the middle of swinging his sword and long wooden chimes clunked together in the slightest breeze. “That’s beautiful. It’s not something you’d see in a gift shop.”
“Wick makes them.”
“Mr. Horny made these?” The word shot out like rapid fire, and she silently groaned before glancing at the pair of eyes that were now staring at her.
“Iníon.” There was disapproval in her voice already.
“What did he do now?” Thame sounded annoyed.
“Just...” She tried to think faster. “He’s just overly friendly, but I set him straight.” Overly friendly because of her lost panties, but she kept her mouth shut about that revelation.
“Wick will flirt with anything and everything,” Thame mumbled and shook his head.
Breena immediately looked away from Gran even though she felt those eyes and watched Thame lean in to open the door. She was giddy and could hardly contain her excitement as she stepped through the doorway.
It opened to a large room. The fireplace caught her attention first. It was huge, unlit but still spectacular. There was scrollw
ork along its brick edge and a painted portrait of several fairies standing beside a big willow tree. There was a brown rug in this room. It look fluffy enough to sleep on and a giant couch big enough to hold a rugby team. Hand woven tapestries were on the walls and Breena walked up to each one. They showed battles, lovers waving in the top of towers, female fairies carrying their babes through a field of clovers and Breena stopped short at the last one. It looked well taken care of, no dust, bright colors that barely faded. It depicted a king and queen on a throne with bowing, smiling fairies dancing around them. It was so beautiful, she was taken by surprise.
“My mother used to create tapestries.” He was right beside her, his voice low and slightly cracked.
“They’re stunning.” Beyond that, but she couldn’t explain the beauty before her eyes. What was it with mothers and heartbreak? Gran cleared her throat and they turned to see her glaring. “I know, I know...wondering.”
Abigail snorted before walking into another room, Breena and Thame followed.
This room was a big kitchen that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1800’s. Gran looked like she stepped right into an angel’s muscular arms. She fawned over this and that like a schoolgirl. The window showed the path they just walked and it was huge. A table was before that, wooden, and one chair. Breena frowned, why did he only have a single chair? She turned to the back door and glanced casually through the glass plane at the middle.
It was the beginning of a gorgeous garden. She opened the door and stepped into a paradise of colors and fragrances. There were patches of clovers and lavender, plump strawberries rose from the ground with healthy green leaves protecting them from the chill in the air. The path was made of planks of wood, she followed the winding turns and stopped at a small alcove. There was a bench here with a trellis overhead and two piles of dirt to the side. What else was he building? She was curious and excited. This was a dream garden, a perfect house and her heart lurched. She wanted to stay here, there was no longer a desire to return home. This was home. It had Thame and a garden she could proudly walk through. This was a dream come true but that didn’t include the fact she wasn’t asked to stay here. What if he never asked? What if he expected her to return home without him?
“Do you like it?” Thame stepped from the house alone. His arms folding across his wide chest as he leaned against the gray stones.
“It’s amazing.” She’d never seen anything so perfect, well, with the exception of Thame himself. “What else are you building?”
“A new bed of flowers. My father taught me and I’ve been planting all my life.”
She smiled at his tone. He must have loved his parents very much. “What flowers?” she wanted to imagine it in case she wasn’t here when it was finished.
He shifted quickly, using his wings to land behind her and wrap his arms around her frame. “Well, I was thinking you could pick them out. Once the final chill of winter is gone, they’ll bloom into true beauties.”
Her chest constricted and it had nothing to do with his hold. “Yeah?”
He nodded and placed his lips against her ear. “I’m hoping you’ll stay around long enough to see it complete and maybe...a bit longer.”
Was that an invitation? Breena shiver and turned in his arms. “You want me to stay?”
Thame casually shook his head. “No, I want you and Abigail to stay.”
Could her heart explode from emotions because it sure as hell felt like it. She nodded and bit her bottom lip. This could be their home, her dream was so close to fruition she was afraid to blink and wake up from this blissful dream. “Really?”
He nodded with that sinful smile on his lips. “I’d love for you to stay here with me.”
Breena tried not to bounce with giddiness as the back door opened and they separated. Gran frowned at them but she was too excited to berate. “Gran, he invited us to stay here with him.” Her frown deepened. “Gran?” She didn’t know if she could live without Gran and her heart pattered at the thought.
“We’ll see, Iníon,” she mumbled and returned to the kitchen.
Now it was Breena’s turned to press her lips together and knit her brows. Why didn’t she like Thame? Was there some deep dark secret she missed? She returned to the house with Thame behind her. Okay, so she may have wiggled her ass a bit more than usually with him right behind her. The excess sex appeal resulted in her slipping on a patch of dead clovers and falling head first into his beautiful, baby strawberries. She squeaked, her face rushing to the hard ground but it never reached the pain inducing ground. Instead, there was a flap of wings and Thame pulled her into his arms. “Now those really come in handy,” she muttered, glanced at his wings then at the few feet of air beneath them.
He smiled and placed his lips just beside her parted ones. It was chaste kiss before he devoured her mouth with his. His tongue was a weapon. It wreaked havoc upon her composure and sent waves of ecstasy between her legs. His hand slid up her shirt then passed her bra until his fingers tweaked her hard peak. Breena moaned into his kiss and wrapped her legs around his hips. She wanted nothing more than to make love in this garden. Thame however, pulled away and returned them to the ground. She growled in frustration.
“As much as I crave you right now, your Gran is still in the kitchen.”
Shite, he was absolutely right. She nodded and together they returned to explore the rest of the house.

Thame waited patiently outside the King and Queen’s chamber. There were some loud words being exchanged and an occasional flutter of wings. He eavesdropped unintentionally and things went quiet about ten minutes ago. The big, white door opened and his King stood proudly before him. Did that mean the decision was made? His pulse spiked as the king nodded.
“If she wants to meet...him it has to be outside of the kingdom.” Carrick ground his teeth before lowering his tone and adding, “I don’t want him anywhere near Brook.”
“Thank you...” There was a nod and Thame walked away as the door closed. Well the decision was officially out of his hands into Breena’s. He didn’t even know how he was going to start the process of telling her the situation. She could now meet her long lost father if she wanted to. Thame would be quite happy to keep those two apart. He didn’t have a friendly relationship with the wingless fairy that kidnapped and tried to seduce his Queen.
He came upon her room and knocked quietly, but no one answered. Where was she? Thame was just about to check Abigail’s room when a shadow skittered down the hall. He found his own and watched quietly as Breena snuck down the hall to her room. What was that in her hands? The laughter nearly bubbled out of him, the pretty panties she was trying to hide were from their tryst on the sunflower. He had completely forgotten about them. She stepped inside her room and he quickly pressed in behind her. Breena gasped and swung backward. He easily caught her balled fist and pressed his thick erection into her back. She didn’t say anything but grabbed his arm and tugged him into the room. “And what are you doing out so late?” He grinned as he said the words and glanced down at the material in her hand. Her cheeks turned a pretty pink.
“Wick gave them to me.” She threw the scraps of lingerie and covered her face with both hands. “Shite, now that was embarrassing and then he offered to sleep with me.”
“He’s just sick of using his hand to quench his lust.” Thame snorted then he locked eyes with her. “Did you want...him?”
It seemed to take forever for her mouth to open and words to form. Was she attracted to the other fairies?
“No way!” she shook her head vehemently.
He began to breathe again, his cock stirred in his jeans as she sat on the bed. “You’re sure? I don’t like to share my women but if you ever wanted to...” He would do anything for her.
“Without a doubt, no.”
“Does that mean you’re going to be only mine?” He stepped slowly toward her, lowered his head as he advanced.
“Thame’s woman...it does have
a nice ring to it.” She giggled as he lunged and slid over the sheets. He heard a squeak before she fell beside the bed.
The woman was forever falling. Her head popped up with a big grin on her flushed face. “Does that mean you’ll stay here?” He tried to keep the serious tone low, but she lifted a brow. “It’s not safe for you to return home.” He stepped toward her. “The fire destroyed most of it.” Another large step. “I’d like you to stay with me.” One more step and he stood in front of her. “Well, I’d like for you to stay in my home with me.”
She seemed stunned for a moment, her eyes going wide and her lips parting without sound.
There was the smallest of nods that shoved his heart into overdrive. Was that a yes? “You don’t have to stay, I could help rebuild your home and visit you. It’d be dangerous with the trolls...”
“I want to stay.” The words rushed out, and she smiled. “I really, really want to stay.”
A let out a breath and leaned closer. “Good because I love waking up with you in my arms.” Her gaze softened and when he pressed his lips against hers, there was no resistance. The kiss was soft and sensual, a glide of tongues and wet lips as Thame tucked her body against his. He still had to tell her about her father, but at the moment, he couldn’t possibly ruin this special moment. “Breena...” he whispered her name and lifted her off the carpet. His lips recaptured hers and he tried his damndest not to bump into any walls or ceilings on the way out. He didn’t know where to go, he just needed to be alone with her. Thame needed to touch and taste her sweet body.
Breena broke the kiss, her lips boldly pressing against his jaw. They were little pecks that made his skin tingle as they rose higher in the sky. He flew them to the waterfall, keeping her close as he landed. She was still placing little kisses on his face and neck that made his heart swell.
