Shyt List 4: Children of the Wronged (The Cartel Publications Presents)

Yvonna and Bricks looked like babies shitting in pampers they were so scared. But after his sixth drink, Bricks felt a little better. Yvonna on the other hand was on pins and needles thinking that if Yao didn’t jump out at any minute on her, the police were.
Just when she thought shit couldn’t get any worse, Phillip, who had held Carmen hostage for her, approached the bar. He looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks, despite the fact that everything happened over a day or so. “I gotta talk to you.” He said through clenched teeth. “And I gotta talk to you now!”
Bricks stepped up and said, “Fuck you want to talk to her about?”
“Nothing!” Yvonna jumped in.
Phillip mugged Bricks and then Yvonna. “Oh, I ain’t got to talk to you about nothing, Yvonna? Are you sure?”
Prior to now she took him for a punk and knew at some point she’d have to break him back down. “Like I said, you ain’t got to talk to me about shit!”
“Maybe I should tell everybody over here how you…”
Thinking he was about to let her pussy out of the bag she slammed down on his foot with her boots. “OOOUUUUUCCHHHHH!!” He screamed jumping up and down.
With that she jumped off of the stool, grabbed him by his ear and walked him to another area. “Look here, I don’t’ know who you think I am, but I can guarantee you that you haven’t met a bitch like me in your life. And if you keep fucking with me, just like Carmen and Urban, you gonna show up missing.”
“So you did have something to do with it?”
“Yes! And you did, too.” She paused smirking at him. “Remember? You were the one who brought Carmen to Urban’s room.”
“So he’s in there? Dead?”
“No, they’re BOTH in there! And you helped me with my plan. So if you don’t be quiet, you ‘bout to be an accessory to the fact.” She paused. “Now step the fuck off.” Yvonna left him to his thoughts and walked back to her friends, but it took a few more seconds before he finally walked away.
In an effort to buy time for a fight that would never take place, Yvonna, Bricks, Ming, Melvin, Kelsi, Terrell and Gabriella decided to get some more drinks in the casino before going. “Yvonna, can I talk to you in private? Alone?” Gabriella asked.
“No.”
“Please. I really just need five minutes.”
“And I said no.” Yvonna protested. “I got a lot on my mind right now.”
Over her limit Ming said, “Ming is so excited, about the fight tonight,” she continued bringing attention once again to what Yvonna didn’t want to discuss. “Ming bets Urban is going to kill that Santiago.”
“Ming, niggas is saying the dude ain’t showing,” Bricks said wishing she’d just shut the fuck up. “So slow your roll.”
“Right, plus haven’t you had enough to drink?” Yvonna said. “Matta fact, make that your last one.”
Ming frowned. “Bitch, please! Don’t get mad at Ming because Ming’s the only one who remembers she’s in Vegas.”
“Ming, I know I asked you this before but I forgot,” Gabriella said. “But why do you refer to yourself in third person?”
“Because it’s Ming’s business. Why do you do a lot of shit behind people’s back?”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Ming feeling her drink said, “I’m on to you, bitch.”
“Ming!” Yvonna said. “Stop wilding out!”
“Fuck her!” She gritted. Gabriella rolled her eyes. “Now can we please have some fun before the fight?” Ming replied. “Ya’ll look like you’re about to go to court.”
“Stop talking about the fight already!” Yvonna yelled in her face. “You make me so fucking sick when you drink! You don’t know how to handle your liquor!”
Not knowing what was going on Ming said, “You just mad because you don’t want your little boyfriend Urban to get his ass beat.” She laughed. “Are you afraid Santiago is going to kill him in the ring or something?”
Overcome with anger, Yvonna slapped Ming in the face so hard her hand stung. A red handprint appeared on her face and Ming threw her drink in her eyes, glass included. The two ladies got to rumbling and Yvonna with her monster strength managed to throw Ming on top of the bar. Then she wiped glasses off of the bar with her body. Ming being no slouch in the fight department grabbed Yvonna and pulled her on top of her. The two had fallen behind the counter knocking over various bottles on the wall. People screamed but could not take their eyes off of the train wreck happening. “Stop it!” The female bartender yelled. “You’re ruining the bar.”
Bricks and Terrell went behind the bar and brought the women back around to the front and Melvin threw five hundred dollars on the bar for the bartender’s trouble.
“You’re so fucking drunk and stupid!” Yvonna yelled pointing her finger in her face. “And I hate when you get like this. Dumb ass, drunk bitch!”
Yvonna stormed away from everything and everybody and Bricks was right behind her. Sensing his presence, she stopped in place, turned around and said, “Just leave me alone! I need time to think.”
“Fine.” He paused, putting his hands in the air before walking in the opposite direction.
Yvonna walked to the casino where there was not as much activity and no Ming. Having moved far enough away, she flopped in the seat in front of a slot machine and tried to concentrate. Her leg shook violently as she slammed her card inside of the machine and pulled heavily on the lever.
“Stupid, bitch!” She said to herself. “Always so dumb and stupid.” Although she was mad, she really hated herself for having fought Ming. Like it or not, Ming was her best friend and in Yvonna’s small circle that made her family.
She was on her fourth pull of the lever when she felt warm arms wrap around her neck. She could smell Beyonce' Heat perfume and knew immediately whom it was. “You really should buy your own shit you know?” Yvonna said. Ming walked around and sat in the seat next to her. The mark on her face from where she had slapped her had gone down…a little. “I’m sorry about that.” Yvonna pointed. “The face thing.”
“Ming knows.” She smiled. “Plus you hit like a bitch.” They both laughed. “You killed him didn’t you? Urban. And that’s what Uncle Yao wants to talk to you about.”
Feeling like she needed to get it off her chest she told the truth. “He tried to kill me. I went over there to talk to him and he tried to kill me.”
Sorrow for her friend covered her face. “So…where is he now?”
“In his room.”
“He couldn’t be. They would have found him by now.”
“He rented another room in the hotel to escape everybody. I guess he must have it for a few more days because they didn’t find him yet. I put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door on my way out so the maid wouldn’t go in.”
“That shit gotta be stinking by now.”
“Yeah…it’s two of them in the room. Him and Carmen.”
Ming’s jaw dropped at the revelation. “Carmen? How did that happen?”
“I tried to make it look like a murder suicide.”
“Yvonna, why wouldn’t you tell Ming? It’s not like we haven’t killed together before. Many, many, many, many times. Actually so many…”
“I get the picture!” She interrupted looking around to make sure no one overheard them. “And I don’t know why I didn’t tell you. I guess it happened so quickly and I didn’t want to get you involved. Besides, Yao is your uncle and if you had to choose I knew you would choose…”
“You.” Ming said touching her hand. “If Ming had to choose between her uncle or you she’d choose you. Uncle Yao has hurt Ming before but you never have.”
“What are you talking about, I just beat your ass on the bar.” Yvonna smirked.
“You mean you just got your ass beat on the bar.” Ming recanted. Then a serious expression covered her face. “But after all we been through, all the secrets, you still don’t consider Ming a true friend.”
“You gotta be kidding me.”
<
br /> “Ming’s not kidding. Ming’s dead serious.”
“You have tricked me into letting you suck my titties, lick my pussy, hump me, kiss me, rub me and all the other sick shit you’ve wanted to do, yet at the end of the day, I still need you around me. And you don’t think you’re my friend?” Yvonna paused. “You the only real friend I’ve ever had.”
“Whatever.”
“It’s true. Gabriella asked me what was it about you I liked so much, and I told her that I know where you’re coming from. Sure you’re a little hornier than most, but I know where you’re coming from. With you, what you see is what you get and I need that in my life.”
Ming smiled. “Ming feels the same way about you.” She paused and said, “Have you talked to Yao yet?”
“No. I called him but he didn’t answer.”
“That’s who Ming’s really worried about.”
“Me too.”
“There they go right here.” Kelsi pointed. Bricks and Melvin were right behind him.
Bricks walked up to the girls and said, “We getting ready to go to the MGM Grand for the fight.”
Bricks gave Yvonna a look that said, “We know the nigga not showing up, but at least we can do is fake it.”
Yvonna looked at him intently and said, “Let the games begin.”

Quita
Each step Quita took leading down the hallway felt heavy as she approached her room without Delilah. Instead of telling Yvonna that she had lost her only child, in her mind there was only one thing to do, manipulate Boy’s young mind so that he would tell the story, as she needed it to be told. It was her only chance at survival.
Entering into the room she was surprised to see it torn completely apart. Capri Suns had been stepped on and the red juice inside of them was splashed against the walls, couch and carpet. Slices of cheddar cheese that she used to make their sandwiches were smashed on the TV, and even on one of Quita’s black Ugg boots. What really messed her up was that she saw Little Davie hiding under the table like a bitch, while Chomps, Miranda and Boy threatened him with forks within every inch of his life.
“What's going on?!” Quita yelled temporarily forgetting that she had bigger fish to fry. “And why is Little Davie under the table?”
“Because he didn’t get with the program, Miss Quita.” Boy said.
Quita walked up to the scene and looked at the children. “And what was the program?”
“That I was in charge.” Boy pointed the fork at himself. “And since he couldn’t get with the program, he tried to take me down so he could be in charge. So we took him down instead.”
“YEAH!!!!” The children cheered.
“Little Davie, get from up under the table.”
Wiping the tears from his eyes and the snot from his nose he shook his head. “But they gonna poke me with forks. I don’t wanna be poked.”
“Little Davie, stop acting like a bitch before I tell your father.” Little Davie crawled from up under the table and stood on his own two feet. But he wouldn’t take another step until the children had cleared a path for him.
“I want everybody in this room to sit down!” She yelled. When they didn’t move she said, “NOW!” When the children retreated to different parts of the room Little Davie sat on the sofa. “Now I don’t know what you do at your house, but I will not continue to allow this type of foolery in the future. Do I make myself clear?!”
“Not really, Miss Quita. I don’t understand what you mean by foolery.” Boy said.
“Never mind all that, Boy, come with me.” She went toward her room within the suite and Boy followed. “The rest of you betta not make a sound because the way I feel I might start fucking some kids up around here.” The kids were stunned at her threat of violence.
When they were in her room Boy said, “What I do, Miss Quita?”
“Your sister was not where you told me she would be.”
“Me?” Boy’s expression was confused and his eyebrows were pulled together. “I don’t know where she is.”
“Yes you do. You said that she went to get some ice. And since that’s your sister, it means you were in charge of her.”
“Ahhh….Ahnnn, you the babysitter.”
“Let me see what your mother will say when I tell her that you lost your sister.” Quita moved for the phone hoping Boy would be scared enough to stop her. But with the handset in her hand he hadn’t said a mumbling word, until she pressed the first button.
“Okay…okay. Please don’t tell.” Boy remembered his mother’s words when she said that they should always stick together, and instead he lost his sister.
Quita smiled before turning around and then sat the phone back on the base. Then she sat on her bed. “Come over here, Boy. Hop up on the bed and sit next to me.”
Boy walked slowly toward her, and sat on the floor instead. “Yes, Miss Quita.”
“I know you didn’t mean to let your sister leave the room. So when your Aunt Yvonna asks, I’ma say that you were sorry. And I’ma take up for you, too. Okay?”
“Yes, Miss Quita.”
“You didn’t mean to let her leave by herself,” she continued, “but I was using the bathroom and you thought she was smart enough to come back to the room after she got ice. But she didn’t. That’s what we gotta say, okay?”
“Okay.”
She saw tears swelling up in his eyes but this was a do or die type of situation and she needed to disconnect herself as far away from responsibility as possible. She knew at first Yvonna would blame her, after all she was the sitter, but she figured once she told her she had to use the bathroom, that no one in their right mind would expect her to take all the kids to the toilet. Her only hope was that the kids wouldn’t recant how they saw her walking out of the bathroom with a towel, which meant that instead of using the bathroom, she had taken a bath. She sure hoped her version of the events would do. If it didn’t she would use Kelsi’s gun to protect herself.
Sin City
Yvonna
The arena was jammed pack while everyone waited to see if the fight would go down or not. Yvonna, Bricks and now Ming, were highly nervous wondering what the end result would bring.
“What’s wrong with ya’ll?” Kelsi asked looking at the three of them.
“Yeah, it’s not even that hot in here but ya’ll sweating like shit.” Terrell said.
Yvonna, Ming and Bricks remained quiet as they tried to tune out the background adlib. It was bad enough knowing that unless Jesus chose to raise Urban from the dead, he would not be fighting anything or anybody tonight. They definitely didn’t want to hold conversations about him. “Nothing is wrong, Terrell,” Yvonna said.
While the world waited, the hotel managed to convince a few R&B celebrities who were in attendance to sing while they made further attempts to locate Urban. And although their voices soothed some, when the last verse was sung, the same question was on everyone’s mind. ‘Where the FUCK is Urban Greggs?’
“Man, I think this nigga flaked,” Kelsi said looking at the empty ring. “He ain’t showing tonight. I’m telling you.”
“It just don’t make no sense,” Terrell said. “All the critics said he had the fight in the bag. All he had to do was show up.”
“Yeah…Santiago’s reach couldn’t fuck with Greggs. But Santiago has speed. If the nigga show up it’s gonna be a good fight.” Kelsi said. “Wait, where Melvin?” he asked changing the subject while looking around the ring.
“Not sure.” Bricks said wiping the sweat off of his head. “He probably gonna be here in a minute though.”
“I’ll be back, I’m about to go find Gabriella,” Terrell said. Yvonna rolled her eyes still mad about their union.
When he left Kelsi said, “If I knew this nigga wasn’t gonna show, I’da got into something else before coming.”
“Like what? My cousin?” Bricks asked trying to pick a fight to keep his mind off of the situation.
Kelsi frowned and said, “You said
Greek came and got her. So she ain’t fucking with me after that. Then she texted me and said she heard about what happened between me and somebody else.” He looked at Yvonna. “So it’s definitely a wrap.”
“Nigga, please! You fucked me and got off.” She yelled. “Even took some ass in the process. Be grateful and shut the fuck up!”
Everyone decided to piggyback off of that beef to stay occupied. “Yeah, nigga! Stop tripping and shit.” Ming added, having no real gripe.
“Girl, I told you to stop saying nigga!” Yvonna said ice mugging her. “You gonna get fucked up.”
While they spoke among themselves, Bricks looked at Yvonna and said, “You let this nigga fuck you in the ass?”
“Yes, he took some ass! But it wasn’t even like that.”
“Bitch, I ain’t take shit! You gave it to me!”
“It don’t even matter, baby because his dick paled in comparison to yours.” Kelsi looked insulted and unconsciously groped himself. People around them eavesdropped. “But the fact that he acting like he ain’t like it is ridiculous! If anything he need to be paying homage. ‘Cause I already know not another bitch before or after me could fuck with my sex game.”
The look on Kelsi’s face told her she was right. “Whatever, as far as I’m concerned the shit never happened. You with my man and I still don’t fuck wit’ your ass.”
When she was done Bricks said, “If you ever talk recklessly like that around me again, by talking about how you fucked another nigga, I’ma break your jaw. I’m not fucking with you.”
The way he demanded his respect turned her on. “I got it, baby.”
“And Kelsi, you my partner and all, but I ain’t trying to hear nothing else about you fucking my shawty.”
