“Relax, you will sit in the car and drive. We will go inside. Mike, go to the grandmother now.”

Odonal’s black Dodge stopped one block before the granny’s house to avoid suspiciousness. It was already dark outside. Mike took his tools and walked out with Kidman. James had to take them 30 seconds after they sent him a text message.

There was a wooden fence next to the house, behind which was the garage. The youngsters looked and, after making sure that no one was around, they walked through the door of the fence, which was locked only with a lever on the inside. They approached the garage, and the teenager pulled out the lockpick. He unlocked the door and they quickly entered.

“Fuck! There is nothing here,” Kidman snorted.

“The other option is the basement in the house.”

“Ooh, that already sounds ominous. What about the grandmother?”

“You know old people and how loudly they watch TV. We will go in and out quietly.”

“OMG, what did I get myself into...”

Both came to the back door, and Mike opened it super slowly. In pink panther style, almost completely silently, they began to walk down the long corridor. The dining room was lit by the TV, and the grandmother was asleep in her comfortable armchair. Youth delighted, opened the door to the basement and shut it behind them. They lit the lamp and gingerly descended down the stairs. On the left, there was nothing, on the right, however, had erected a wall of plasterboard with a small door. They opened it and finally smiled, satisfied.

“I see at least 200 pots.”

“Not to mention the product that is ready for distribution.”

“How are we going to export everything?” asked Harry.

“We will not take the plants, just the dried ganja. I see at least a few kilos, which is more than enough to put him in jail. You sure you don’t want to sell some of the product?” the Spy questioningly raised an eyebrow.

Kidman looked at him again with his strange glance.

“Pff, I couldn’t even make jokes anymore. Send an sms to James, we are going out,” said Mike.

“Take a pot too, we will put it on his window. So the cops will have a cause to enter his apartment.”

  “Clever!”

They filled one bag with marijuana, took the plant and left the basement. However, as they quietly walked past the sleeping grandmother, Kidman’s phone rang. The familiar melody of "Kid Rock - All Summer" was heard, with which only Joe was ringing. They froze, and Harry vigorously pulled out his gsm from the pocket of his jeans and turned it off. A few seconds of silence passed, and just as they thought that everything was good, the grandmother opened her eyes. Her head was directed to the hallway, and the first thing she saw were the violators. The old missis stood up and while she was looking for something in the cupboard, shouted, “You enter into my house, eh? You scallywags, scum, fucking thieves.”

“Let’s get out before the old lady has a stroke.”

Mike had not even finished his words when the grandmother finally found what she was looking for. They knew from the sound of recharging that it was a big shotgun. Both rushed towards the door just before the first shot was heard. James was already in front when he heard the shooting sound.

  “This can’t be good...”

In the next moment, he saw his friends running towards the car with bags in hand and the wild grandmother reloading the gun at the entrance. The driver reached over and opened the passenger and back door of the Dodge. Mike sat in front and Kidman threw himself with his eyes hitting directly on the rear leather seats, shouting, “Drive, drive...”

The car drove directly with squeaking tires, and Harry closed the door on the go. Another shot broke the right rear stop.

“WTF, who is that? Some relative to Commando?”

“I don’t know, but I hope she does not eat green berets for breakfast like Arnold!”

“When are we going to act on The Hammer issue?” James asked.

“Tomorrow after school. When he is out, we will place the weed and call the cops.”

“Where we going to keep the grass?”

“Relax, brother. We can put it my garage,” Mike smiled.

Kidman thought for a moment, “Try not to smoke or sell it all.”

“Cross my heart,” Odonal quickly crossed himself three times, as Tuco from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly".

They all laughed violently. Mike drove Kidman to his house. In front of Joe, Shelley was sitting on the porch, apparently waiting for him to return. The young man spoke while he was approaching her, “Tell your grandfather that his timing is awful. He almost got us killed,” he smiled.

The girl just shook her head in surprise, waiting for Harry to explain. The teenager told her, but only after a passionate kiss.

  Chapter XI

  L'opération "The Hammer"

On the next day, the guys were eager to begin operation "The Hammer", or as Mike called it "L'opération The Hammer".

During the fourth school hour, Kidman was half asleep with his eyes opened as always. Shelley sent him a love sms from time to time when the teacher wasn’t looking. During this time, Odonal was monitoring the cameras in Johnny’s apartment on his phone. Suddenly, the Spy turned to Harry and whispered, “Elvis has left the building...”

“What?” asked half asleep and deaf youth, and Mike repeated, this time, a little louder.

  “Elvis has left the building!”

“Mr. Odonal, if you do not stop talking in class, Elvis will not be the only one to leave the building!”

The room became noisy. Harry just now understood what was happening. He sent a quick text message to his friend, “After this hour, we will go to your house for the goods and then activate operation "The Hammer".”

The answer to which was, “Relax, the merchandise is in the trunk. We are going directly…”

Kidman gasped and replied, “LOL, you fucking cold-blooded bastard!”

The class was over, and they left the room almost instantly. Before leaving, Dirty just winked at Shelly and she immediately understood what was going on. The dark-haired girl rushed after them. They met with James in the corridors, who also decided to skip the next few classes, just to take part in the operation, which would be remembered in the school history as "The Harry Affair".

Mike furiously drove his Dodge to Johnny’s apartment. From his player sounded "50 cent& Lloyd Banks - Hands Up" and they all shook their heads in silence, agitated, eagerly waiting for the turn of events.

The black Charger stopped directly in the front door of the building. Three youths jumped out, cautiously looked around, lifted some bags from the trunk, and then slipped into the entrance. Mike quickly unlocked the apartment lock. Once inside, they situated the grass on the table and the flower on the window. They took their equipment, wiped all the prints they left in the recent days and went out again. The car drove back and parked at a decent distance but with a view to the apartment. They decided that it would be the best if Shelley called 911 from the nearest pay phone. The complaint was filed and now only waiting remained. James had prepared the camera and Mike the drone, since he planned to film everything in close.

A patrol car arrived on the scene after fifteen minutes. Тwo uniformed officers got out of the car. They looked at the place and saw the pot of weed on the window. They called the station and two more cars arrived soon. They broke the door and entered Johnny’s apartment, who naturally was not inside.

Two hours later, The Hammer’s car stopped in front. The stunned dealer timidly got out of the car and was immediately arrested. Mike’s drone managed to capture the full arrest. The young people cheered in the car. The evening was celebrated at Joe’s.

Harry’s problems began to get resolved one by one.

  Chapter XII

  Happy Ending?

It was already March when in an early morning, Kidman’s mother went out to check the mail. Everybody in the house was waiting for the results of the colleges Harry had applied
for. What his parents didn’t know, however, was that he had filed documents in only one place.

“Harry,” his mother appeared on the door while he and his father were eating their breakfast, “why is there an envelope from Harvard?” she asked, surprised.

Kidman jumped from his chair hearing the news, ran to the door, stumbling on the road first in the table, then the couch, until he finally got hold of the thick envelope, with pain in his foot. He directly tore it up and read.

“TAAAA, I’m accepted,” he shouted frantically and started running around the room with joy.

His dad choked for the moment, “Harvard?”

  “Yes, in the fucking Harvard!”

  “When did you apply there?”

“My father, I applied only there, because that’s where I wanted to study. They have the best programs…”

His mother looked at him with her evil glance, “Harry Kidman, are you crazy to risk your future like that? And why didn’t you tell us? At least tell me you’ll be a lawyer like your father?”

“No, actually, I will study archeology.”

This time, his father looked at him amazed, “How did they accept you?”

“Principal Smith and I are members of a historic club. He helped me for the essay and gave a personal recommendation to Harvard for me.”

Old Kidman shook his head approvingly, “Good, good, we will have our own Indiana Jones,” he smiled.

“At least you will be close to home,” his mother smiled too.

“I’m going to tell Shelley,” the young man waved with his hand and left.

He rang the doorbell and waited impatiently for the girl to open.

“I’ve been accepted into Harvard too, hahaha.”

The girl happily jumped on his neck while Kidman’s parents watched from their front door.

In school, everybody greeted Harry joyfully. Mike also had good news.

“James and I were accepted into the police academy, and my father arranged internships at a detective agency owned by some friend.”

“So you two will be detectives, me an archeologist and genius, and Shell an unemployed writer.”

The girl slapped him behind the neck.

“Lecturer at the University, slash writer.”

“I feel like you will create a new Hall of Fame at Harvard, I just hope that you won’t be expelled,” started dreaming Odonal.

“Fuck the glory, when we find a treasure, we will divide it into four,” Harry grinned.

“They may accept us in some secret society,” Mike rubbed his hands. “There are the great mysteries.”

“Shh, get back to reality. We’re still in high school,” James interrupted their dreams. “Come on, we will be late for class.”

“You are such a buzz kill...”

May, when the prom was held, Harry and Shelley were elected king and queen. Propaganda was too large to be someone else. Kidman, very drunk again, sang the famous rap song of "N.W.A- Straight Outta Compton", but this time, in front of the whole school, and on the video wall went the old clip of his birthday. Even the principal sang with Harry. The party just exploded and entered the school records as an all-time number one.

One would have thought that Kidman’s life would go on smoothly from there on, but his reputation, for good or for bad, overtakes him, and rumors passed from mouth to mouth. For him, the first year in Harvard would be more complicated than ever. The troubles in which was involved in before paled at the things that awaited him.

  But first...

Harry emerged from the prom to smoke a cigarette on fresh air and take a breath of the euphoria when his phone rang. Kidman picked up and recognized the voice of The Hammer, “You motherfucker, I know you set me up. You are dead…”
