A Thief's Heart
Page 11
Gio was a thief. He’d broken into ARC before. He had to know a way to sneak them out of here unnoticed. She shifted to her other foot, and sank down three inches.
Gio looked down and shook his head. “Those ridiculous heels make good weapons. I’m going to buy you a closet full of them.”
She looped her arms around his neck and rose up onto her remaining heel. And he wanted to buy her shoes? He really was the perfect man. Well, perfect for her. “So, you were scared you were going to lose me, huh?”
“No teasing about that, cara,” he said sternly. He pulled her even more tightly to him.
She brushed her lips softly against his. “You can’t ever lose me.” Her eyes sparkled. “You’re a retrieval expert, remember? If I’m ever lost, you’ll find me.”
Gio chuckled then took her lips with his own tender kiss. “Si. You can count on it.” He ran his hands down her sides. “I will always find you.”
She rolled onto her toes and skimmed her lips across his jaw. She sucked his earlobe into her mouth. “And how about getting us lost?” she whispered. “Do you think you can make us disappear for a few hours?”
He clasped her face between his hands and rained soft kisses on her cheeks, her eyelids, everywhere but where she needed it most. “I take it there isn’t a fire escape from this room.” His lips fluttered over her jaw.
“Nope.” She turned her head, trying to catch his mouth with her own.
“No back door.” He pulled his head back, keeping his kiss out of reach. Slowly, he licked around her lips, the tease stealing her breath.
“No, not that either.” She pressed her hips into his, rubbing against the hard bulge behind his pants.
He groaned.
“So, do you think you can do it?” She made her voice a challenge. After all, he challenged her on so many levels. Turnabout only seemed fair.
He crashed his lips down on hers, curling his tongue into her mouth, tasting every bit of her.
Tingles started at the base of her neck, spread lower until she shook with need.
“No fire escape. No back door.” Gio slid his hand up her side and squeezed her breast. He grinned, wolf-like, and her panties went damp.
“And?” she asked, breathless.
He waggled his eyebrows. “No problem.”
