Liz and Kelly are recognized for their roles in treating and mixing up the cure to stop the sickness from evolving and spreading even further. With Marc behind bars, Kelly takes control of his pharmaceutical company and mass produces the cure for free. She also gives the recipe to other pharma companies around the world so they can start production of the cure in order to help their citizens.
;A few days later, Jack and I are making our rounds on the most popular TV and radio shows chatting about our experiences throughout this zombie nightmare. Despite being in the media ourselves, albeit on a much smaller scale, we’re private people, not prone to airing our laundry to others, but so many people were and still are affected by this zombie outbreak, we decide to share our story.
“How did changing into a zombie feel? How does it feel now knowing you’re not one anymore?”
“It’s a strange feeling mentally and physically. Besides the obvious visual transformations, my thinking got cloudy and my mind drifted to more primal thoughts, like what or who I was going to eat. It was a compulsion. Now that I’m back to being myself again, I can remember some of how I felt and can appreciate even more the fact that humans have the ability to reason and make thoughtful decisions. It’s frustrating, even maddening, when you can’t control yourself.”
“Was there a time when you thought you wouldn’t make it? Did you ever want to give up?”
“I’d be lying if I said I was positive the entire time. Going through an experience like this put immense stress on my system. And then top that off with breaking the rules in order to expose the truth, there were times I wasn’t sure of what to do next, but we figured it out. Deep down, I think I felt like everything was going to be OK as long as we all stuck together. Giving up never entered my mind.”
“You two went through so much, how did you persevere?”
“That’s easy,” Jack says as he takes my hand in his. “Together.” Jack kisses me in front of reporters and the audience.

After the story made its way through the news cycle and the publicity died down, Jack and I were able to reconnect and spend time together. One glorious Sunday morning we were in bed, snuggling together, watching the sunrise.
“I can’t believe we made it through all that zombie crap in one piece,” I say.
“I never had a doubt in my mind. You’re the strongest woman I know. And I had a feeling things would turn out OK for us.” Jack wraps me in his arms.
“It was touch and go a couple of times, but yeah. I know what you mean. We’re pretty lucky.”
“I know someone who’s gonna get lucky.”
“Oh yeah? Who?”
“You. Kiss me, Beautiful.”
