Destiny's Path

She couldn’t help what she did next, nor would she change it or stop it. It was her gift to Roan.

“Oh Roan.” She leaned in and kissed him.

It started out as a gentle press of lips but turned into a dueling match of tongues as she tried to give him a small taste of the passion Flynn and she have shared. And Roan was no novice at passion. His cool facade was a mask for a very passionate man. And an expert kisser as well. Roan’s True Mate was going to be one lucky and very satisfied Lupa.

He broke the kiss, his breathing ragged. “Thank you,” he rasped, leaning his forehead against hers.

  She chuckled huskily. “No problem.”

After they got their hearts back to normal, Roan drew back, still holding both her hands. “My brother is luckier than I thought.” He grinned mischievously as she blushed, and Flynn walked through the door.

Flynn looked at them both, a knowing light in his eyes. But there was no jealousy or anger there, only love. “I always thought so. But then, I’ve always been the better-looking twin,” he joked, winking at her.

“You’re identical, you mutt. You both look good. Now move. I would like to see my sister.” Angel came up behind Flynn, trying to bully her way past him. Roan, Flynn, and Sasha looked at each other, an unspoken agreement between them. What just transpired between Roan and her would never leave this room, nor would it ever happen again. They all nodded, and Roan kissed her hand and got up to stand beside Flynn. They talked briefly, then hugged each other tightly. They pulled back, clapping each other on the shoulder and grinning radiantly. It was brotherly love at its best, and Sasha was glad she was there to witness it.

“How you feeling?” Angel asked, jolting her back as she sat beside Sasha on the bed.

“Uh, pretty good, actually. Starved too.” Her stomach growled, and she grinned.

“Not a problem. Mom’s got lunch ready, so if you feel up to it, you can come down to eat with us.”

“Sounds good. Just let me wash up and get some clothes on first; then Flynn and I will meet you.”

  “Great. See you downstairs.”

Sasha was about to get out of bed when she noticed Roan had gone as well. Which was a good thing. She had already flashed him enough these past couple days. And with the way he felt about her, well, she didn’t want to add insult to injury.

“He’s gone to let our guests know that you have awakened,” Flynn said, seeing her look around the room.

“Guests? You mean the ones he had talked about before?” She made her way to the closet to get some clothes. Now, what do you wear to a luncheon with several high-ranking Pack families?

“The very same. Jeans and a nice shirt will be fine. It’s just lunch, nothing fancy.”

“Thanks. I wasn’t sure.” She laid out some nice jeans and a silk blouse. “Have they been told about Jenna and Rhonda? About what Jenna had planned?”

“Yes and their bodies were sent to their relatives. There was a quiet burial yesterday, Roan and several of the heads of the families being witness to it,” He told her. “Because of the circumstances of their deaths, the family won’t be held accountable nor will they be required to pay reparation. Not that any of us would ask them. Despite the fact that Jenna had been Alpha, her and her mother had been estranged from their family for years.”

Getting underwear and socks, Sasha nodded. “Well, I hope they can find peace now. Jenna and Neena especially. Who knows? Maybe in their next life they could get it right.”

“Maybe they can.” Flynn chuckled, then grabbed her about the waist and spun her around in his arms, kissing her neck. “I wanted to thank you.” He kissed a wet trail to her ear.

“Mmm?” She wrapped her arms around his neck to bring him closer, all thoughts of burials and next lives forgotten.

  “For Roan.”

She pulled back, looking into his light eyes. It was the same as before. No jealousy or anger. Just love. “He deserves to be happy too, Flynn, and I wanted him to know that.”

“I know, and I’m glad you could share that with him.” Then he breathed in deeply, letting it out slow. “With everything we have shared, this is the one part of my life I can’t share with him, and it makes me sad.”

  “He knows that and understands.”

He gave her a bright smile. “How in the world did I get so lucky as to have you for my True Mate?”

“We’re supposed to be together.” She cocked her eyebrow in question. “Or don’t you believe in fate?”

“If I didn’t before, I do now.” He laid her gently on the bed and covered her body with his. “I love you, Sasha LeGuer.”

“And I love you, Flynn LeGuer.”

Their lips met in a fiery kiss, their passion rising.

They were a bit late for lunch.
