Celia's Knight

She had planned for weeks so she took out her checklist. The satellite radio was tuned to easy-listening music and the AC was set on 78. She’d laid Martin’s script on an end table and his robe, slippers and toiletry bag on the bed in the master bedroom.

Everything was ready, now all she had to do was wait. She took one more look over the suite. It was perfect and the view was amazing. There was an oversized lounge chair and a small dining table with two chairs on the terrace.

The kitchen was stocked with everything they might need. There was a meat, cheese and fruit tray along with assorted nuts, chocolates, naturally flavored sparkling water and fruit drinks. She had also called in their dinner menu, which was to be served at 6:30.

Randi was nervous. She wanted everything to be perfect. She had bought lingerie – a white satin gown with a matching robe that was embroidered on the back with the word, “Bride”, a ruffled lace romper, a lace topped chemise with matching underwear, teddies and satin babydoll pj’s. But, most importantly of all, she was on birth control. She and Martin wanted children, but not just yet.

As she slipped into her shoes, there was a knock at the door. Would Martin knock? She took one last look in the mirror and checked the peephole. She let out a deep sigh and opened the door to her new husband.

Martin stood before her a smile on his handsome face. His tie was off and hanging out of his pocket. As he walked in the door, he began unbuttoning his vest while kissing her. He discarded his jacket and vest on a nearby chair while Randi closed and locked the door.

“I hope you’re hungry.” The look he flashed her made her feel a bit nervous, so she spoke again, “I meant for food.”

“Yeah. That, too,” he said, as his gaze traveled down the form fitting dress then back to her eyes. “This is nice,” he held out his hand and continued speaking, “secluded. Why, Mrs. Taylor, I like your style, and I like that dress but I’ll like it even better when it’s in a puddle at your feet.”

He teased her with a growl and a kiss on her neck. She wanted to scold him, say that dinner was on the way, but she didn’t. Her arms went around his neck, and where she had thought she might feel shy, she too couldn’t wait to see that white shirt sliding off his tanned shoulders.

His hands made their way from her waist up her side to the strap of her dress. He leaned back toying with the idea of pushing it off her shoulder. He raised his gaze to her eyes when she spoke.

“Should I cancel dinner? It’s on the way up? This is your night. Do as you will.”

“I’ll have a little of both,” Martin said, pushing the strap off her shoulder and letting his lips roam upward to her neck. He knew this was a weak spot and when a sigh escaped Randi’s lips, it let him know he was on the right track. “How long till dinner?” he asked, but then covered her lips with a kiss.

“Fifteen minutes. Not long enough for much.”

“Speak for yourself,” he teased. She laughed and he loved to hear her laugh.

She pushed him back playfully. “If you think I spent all your money on this fancy room and this fancy dress for fifteen minutes, you better think again.”

He loved her teasing as she pushed him away. It was best she get out of his arms until after dinner. “Did you enjoy your wedding day, Mrs. Taylor? ” he asked, as sat on the couch where he could enjoy Randi enjoying the view.

“I did. It was a wonderful day. I think it was perfect.”

“It was. My best wedding yet.” He knew this would make her look at him, and even better, she came to stand in front of him.

“Yet? Young man, I’ll have you know this is your first and only wedding.” She put her hands on her hips and looked at him.

Martin had what he wanted. Randi close enough to touch. He smiled and reached up taking her wrist and pulled her to him. She started to sit on the edge of the couch but he reached out taking her off balance until she was in his lap. She laughed and put her hand in his and looked at their rings.

“Are you ready for tonight?” he asked. “I won’t rush you. I joke, but I can be patient. We can move at any pace.” Martin had no idea what she would say. She moved his hand to her waist, put her fingers into his hair and brought her lips to his.

“I don’t want to disappoint you,” she said, between kisses.

“Oh, you won’t,” he said, parting his lips for an electric kiss. Martin moved in the chair tilting her to bring her closer. When her hand went to his chest, he laughed. “I won’t let you fall.”

“I know. I just wasn’t expecting that. I trust you.”

“Do you really?” he teased, sliding his hand to her thigh. He thought she might push him away but she didn’t. Instead her right hand moved to the top button of his shirt.

“I trust you and I love you,” her words were a whisper against his lips. When he felt the top button of his shirt come open, and then the next, and her hand on his chest, he laughed.

“Is it possible you’re a bit hungry, too?” He liked the smile that came to her lips, but the only answer she gave was to open one more button on his shirt. When he reached his hand to touch her face, she unbuttoned the cuff on his sleeve.

“When I take this off later, I might be in a hurry.”

“Is that my answer?” he asked, huskily.

“It could be,” she teased, eyeing another button on his shirt, but sadly, there was a knock on the door. She gave him an ‘oh well’ look and untangled herself from his arms. She held out her hand, he rose and started to the door, but she bumped in front of him and smiled. “Better eat up, it might be a long night.”

  Chapter 74

  Broken Boundaries

Randi wasn’t sure where her bravado had come from but she was enjoying it. She teased Martin throughout their dinner, stealing food from his plate, running her fingers lightly across the back of his hand, in general, letting him know she was looking forward to spending time with him.

The last thing she did when they were about to have a slice of cake was to stand behind him and reach down taking his right hand in hers. “I missed this earlier,” she cooed, kissing him on the neck as she unbuttoned the other cuff on his shirt.

“Yes, you said you might be in a rush later,” he said, letting his hand slide down her back and beyond as she walked back to her seat.

“I caught that,” she said, “boundaries, young man, boundaries.”

When she sat down to eat her cake, he leaned forward and shook his head. “I broke those boundaries this afternoon when I put that ring on your finger,” he said, pointing his fork at her ring. “You’re mine, girl, in every sense of the word.”

“Promises, promises,” she replied, as if she doubted him and she loved the wicked smile he gave her.

“I’m a man of my word, so you better watch out.”

She didn’t say anything else, she ate part of her cake and started to the kitchen. He reached out and handed her his plate. “My appetite has changed. Put that back for later, please.”

“You owe me a dance so don’t take your clothes off yet.”

“Dance? All you women do is think of things to put off the inevitable.”

She laughed at his complaints but noticed he rose and went to the stereo. She put the cake in the fridge, washed her hands and followed Martin. The music was playing and he stood looking out the window. She wrapped her arms around his waist also looking out on the city. “Do you like your honeymoon so far?”

He turned taking her into his arms. “I love it.” Placing one hand on her back and taking her other hand in his, he started to dance. She smiled and enjoyed holding him in her arms, thinking about the night to come. “We don’t have to dance all night.”

“Good thing,” he said in a low tone, pulling her closer. The lights were dim but she could see him well enough to see desire in his eyes. She let out a sigh and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I bought a new gown but I have a feeling it would be a waste of time.” He laughed and leaned in to kiss her.<

“I can see it tomorrow, or the next night, or the next.” With each word his voice became more of a whisper and his kisses grew more intense.

Martin felt Randi push back from his arms but she didn’t break their connection. After kissing him twice, she stepped back. “I think it’s time we get you out of that shirt.” She turned and walked toward the bedroom motioning for him to follow. She noticed when he stopped to pick up his wallet and spoke to him.

“Unless you plan on leaving a tip, you won’t need your wallet, or anything you might have inside. You know something small and square. I hope you don’t mind but about three weeks ago I went to the doctor. He suggested I stay on the pill for a year and then let nature take its course. Does that suit you?”

Martin smiled and asked, “So I don’t need this?”

“No, only for room service.” With this she turned and walked into the bedroom. He smiled and followed her. He got another pleasant surprise when he found the bed turned down. “When did you do that?”

  “A couple of hours ago.”

  “Is that right?”

“I had a list of things to do, it’s by the bed.” He walked over, sat down and picked up the note. His eyes moved down the list, and his brows rose as he read the last three things.

Her eyes were not on him, so his expression was wasted. She held onto the door while taking off her shoes. If he’d missed the slit in her dress before it had his attention now. “I like the list, and those legs.”

She laughed. “Thanks, you could help if you want.”

“Oh, I want!” he said, dropping the list and walking over to her. His hand knew very well about the zipper in the back and he moved there first. It was hard to be near her and not touch her. He kissed her as he pushed the straps from her shoulders and steadied her as she stepped out of the dress.

“There’s your puddle,” she said, turning to face him. She was wearing a lace toped chemise with matching underwear. They were a bit too conservative for his taste, but he was moving at her pace, not his. As she pushed his shirt off his shoulders, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

He shook his shirt to the floor and wasted no time in leading her to the bed with a kiss and one arm around her waist. She moved to her side of the bed and began to remove the pins from her hair. He could sense she was becoming shy so he took off his pants leaving on his briefs and slid under the covers.

He rested his hands behind his head watching her. Slowly her long ringlets fell down her back and he couldn’t wait to feel them against his skin. It was as if she read his mind as she moved to him and leaned down kissing him. Her hair was as soft as it looked and his fever was rising again.

She leaned over him, pushed a button somewhere and the overhead lights went out and two lamps came on giving the room a romantic glow. He let out a deep breath, held her hand in his and kissed it just above her wedding band. “Where’s that diamond, woman? Hock it already?”

“I didn’t want to scratch you or lose it in the melee.”

“Melee? What kind of lover do you think I am?”

“Bad choice of words?” she asked, laughing coyly.

“I’ll show you what’s funny,” he said, as he began to tickle her. She laughed and he kept moving, finding spots that would make her giggle. Slowly though, when he bent down to kiss her, the tickles became soft, and when she dug her fingers into his hair, the touches became filled with passion. He gave her a chance to slow the pace, but when she called his name and pulled him closer, he knew she was ready to have him cross the final boundaries that kept them from becoming one.

When Martin woke the next morning, he looked to find Randi gone. The moment he sat up, he could smell coffee. He rose, tossed on a robe he found on the bed, and on his way out of the bathroom, remembered he was on his honeymoon. He brushed his teeth, washed his face and headed out to find his wife.

Randi was on the terrace wearing a satin robe embroidered on the back with the word, “Bride”. She was standing by the railing with a cup of coffee in her hand. He poured a cup of coffee and went out to join her. “Good morning, Mrs. Taylor. Did you sleep well?”

“Yes, just lovely. I see you found the coffee.”

“I did, wife,” he said, giving her a kiss. “It looks to be a beautiful day. Anything special on your mind?” he asked, as he sat down sipping on his coffee.

Randi moved closer, set her coffee down and leaned in close. “Didn’t you see the list?”

His brow rose. “Why, Mrs. Taylor, are you suggesting what I think?”

“Why not? In a few weeks you’ll be reading scripts and I’ll be working in our garden. It’s time to enjoy our marital bliss.” He nodded, and leaned in kissing her, tugging on her belt.

  “Not here.”

“I’m teasing, kind of,” he said, wiggling his brows.

“You’re terrible, but cute. I do have another surprise, and something else for us to do when you tire of this . . .”

“Oh, it will be a while before that happens. What’s your surprise?”

She pulled her hand out of her pocket and waved keys in the air. “It’s a wedding present.”

  “What is it?”

“It’s my gift to you. Since I’m married to a kind of wealthy guy, I wanted to buy you something and I had just enough money saved.”

“What is it? Randi reached into her other pocket and took out her phone. She moved her fingers across the screen then held the phone out. His eyes grew wide and he laughed. “Is that a Harley?”

“Yes, a baby-blue sportster. It’s licensed, insured and ready to roll. Maybe later we can take a spin?”

  “Later? Where is it parked?”

“Hey,” she said, picking up the keys from the table. “You have commitments.”

“I had no idea you were so demanding but I love it, and I love you.” Martin leaned in for a kiss and Randi shook her head ‘no’.

“You’re just after the keys. I know that look and it’s not marital lust it’s Harley lust.”

“That wounds me,” he said, trying to keep a straight face. “How about you bring the bike up here and we . . .”

“No, but maybe later.” She pushed the keys into her pocket and leaned down to kiss him. “Being married to you is going to be so much fun. I love you, and I’m so glad you came to pick me up that day in that old, beat up pick-up truck.”

“You were going to kiss me that day, weren’t you?” He pulled her into his lap and she wrapped her arms around his neck. “You leaned over and gave me this look.”

“I know. It’s crazy but I kinda think I fell in love with you the moment you stepped out of that truck.”

Martin smiled and knew she had love on her mind when she started toying with his hair. He had been reading her little signals for weeks. But now, instead of having to stop, he could do as he pleased.

“We still have a few boxes to mark off that list of yours. How about we get the one next to the last?’

“I don’t care what order we go in.”

Randi moved from his lap and closed the terrace door behind them. He stopped by the kitchen counter, picked up a pen, and walking into the bedroom laid it on the nightstand. She noticed the pen and smiled at him as she began to untie her robe.

“What’s with the pen?” she asked, handing him the keys to his new Harley. He laid the keys by the pen and turned with a smile.

“I’ve got a few things to add. You’re not the only one who can make a list.”

She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. He finished untying the belt, and when she whispered his name, his mind wasn’t on a list, a Harley or anything but the beautiful woman before him . . . who was now his wife.

His Randi . . . the only woman in the world who was really made for Martin!
