Evolution: The Revelation

Marcus inquired, “Is it a comet or a big rock, or perhaps, something else?”

“It’s something else we believe,” Minister Daley explained. “It is slowing down as it gets closer.”

“We have sent the fleet to investigate it,” added President Chi. “Commander Christine Carroll and her crew have already left to join the fleet.”

“If it’s another Ancient Visitors’ ship, there are three still out there somewhere, your fleet and its crew don’t have a chance. You don’t have the weaponry to match theirs. If I were you, I’d pull them back to a defensive position around Earth.”

“We’ll take your suggestion under consideration Marcus,” The President said in appreciation. “But now excuse us, we need to prepare.”

“One more thing Mr. President,” Marcus said. “Could you please tell me how long this information has been out and who knows?”

“Other than you all,” he said. “Only the Council and high ranking military personnel know. This information has only come to light only within the hour.”

As the President and his Ministers left the virtual meeting room, D’Shawn turned to Marcus and the others, “They’re not prepared for one of those Ancient Visitor ships. There is no way. Most of their deep space crafts don’t have any weapons at all. To put it plainly, they’ll be sitting ducks.”

“Well then, this is it,” Steven surmised. “The day of reckoning is here and the Ancient Visitors have come for their army. Maybe we can get lucky and take another one out?”

“Not likely,” Marcus said. “We fooled them once, but I doubt, being as highly intelligent as they are, they will fall for it again. However, maybe we can get at them through another path.”

  Steven questioned, “What path?”

“We still follow the trail of Satan. He’s their leader. Maybe if we can take out the leader, the followers will fall to the wayside and lose their will to go on. With that said, I’ll stay here in the command center with the other Returned to organize a defense while you four continue to find Satan by investigating the transmission or power surge coming from the ancient ruins of Pergamon.”

Father Willie added, “Before we go there, maybe we can make a quick visit to Jerusalem to speak to Kaiden.”

That’s what I thought as well,” said Marcus in agreement. “He’s preaching about the end of the world without knowing about the Ancient Visitor craft on the way. I’m wondering if Scripture might be relevant here. It’s a longshot but find out first before you head to Pergamon. There might be something in Scripture that can help.”

D’Shawn and the others left immediately and quickly took their transport to Jerusalem.

During the thirty minute trip from New York to Jerusalem, Hailey initiated the James Connor program so the team could ask questions, “Start James Connor program.”

  “Hello Lieutenant Hailey Johnson.”

“Hello James. We’d like to ask you a few questions regarding the end of time. The leader of the Peace, Love, and Serenity movement, Kaiden, has recently started preaching that the end of the world is at hand.”

“Hailey, with my two Doctorates, one in anthropology and the other in religious studies combined with my merging with the Ancient Visitors’ computer, I’m sure I’ll answer all you questions.”

Father Willie stepped forward, “So that I can give the best advice I can about the connection between the religious point of view about the end of days and the Ancient Visitors, could you please tell us the Ancient Visitors’ view of the end of days?”

“I’d be happy to Father Willie. First off, The Ancient Visitors are not religious. They once were ruled by the Ruler of the Realm as they would put it. You might say, God. No record indicated that they worshiped the Ruler of the Realm, but they did say the Ancient Visitors were some sort of subordinates to the Ruler of The realm. When they were disobedient, the Ruler banished them to this universe. Urged by the Prince, or maybe Satan, they are working on their plan to destroy this universe and re-enter the Realm or Heaven. At some point, they will have their army battle the Ruler’s army for dominance of the realm. I can’t help you, though, if you were looking for a date. I would say this; they were going to use the power of the stars and the particle accelerators in their four ships to produce the needed power to break through into the Realm. But as you know, one of the ships had been destroyed. This, of course, pushed back any timetable they had. I will say this though; they look forward to the end of this existence.”

Steven then asked, “Why then are they so insistent on getting back to the Realm?”

James told him, “It is a totally different plain of existence. Let me explain it this way; it is a place of perfect harmony. You feel love a thousand fold. You feel endless peace. The feeling of serenity never goes away. No one ever dreams when you are there because your existence there is better than your best dream. By all accounts, it was a dwelling they never wanted to leave in the first place.”

D’Shawn said, “Why would they be dumb enough to get tossed out of a place like that? To me, it doesn’t make sense. The Ancient Visitors are, from what I can tell, extremely intelligent.”

James was about to answer when Father Willie answered for him, “It doesn’t matter the level of intelligence. What matters is being content and having gratitude for that. I can’t speak about the Ancient Visitors but mankind’s intelligence has evolved in the thousand years since you were last here. However, mankind’s desire for more has not diminished, whether it is more things, more feeling of pleasure, or more feelings of power. It would seem as if that hunger cannot be satisfied. And, I am sorry to say, it is the reason Satan has come here.”

James then added, “The Ancient Visitors, like mankind, wanted more. Maybe the Prince spoke into their ears tempting them with more power, and they acted on that temptation. As punishment, the data says the Ruler professed love for them, yet he stripped them of their citizenship in the Realm and banished them into a new universe, this one. They have been trying to get back ever since.”

Steven then asked, “Who would want them? They are cold and miserable beings with contempt for all life. I don’t blame Him for throwing them out.”

“They weren’t always like that,” instructed James. “Early writings, thirteen billion years old, state that they were much different in the structure of their bodies. What I mean is they weren’t the tall grey or green beings we’ve seen. No, they were beautiful and majestic beings more constituted in our expectations as mere light. Over the past thirteen billion years, they’ve evolved into what we picture as Ancient Visitors.”

As Father Willie asked question after question to James to better understand what they were up against, D’Shawn answered a communication from Marcus, “D’Shawn, the visual sent to me from Earth’s armada moving toward the object heading to Earth was indeed an Ancient Visitors’ craft. It had a similar style and build as the one we destroyed.”

“Oh shit, I was afraid of that.”

“It gets worse. The entire fleet was destroyed, every last ship. Captain Christine Carroll’s ship was one of the first to go down. So thorough were the Ancient Visitors, there’s not one life beacon registering out of the ten thousand souls aboard the fleet.”

“That’s just great,” muttered D’Shawn. “I was hoping we had some time before they showed up to annihilate us. So now do you want us to come back to the Command Center or continue with the mission?”

“Continue with the mission. There’s nothing you can do here. As a matter of fact, I don’t think there is anything we can do. We’ll try to mount a defense, but we are losing possible fighters to the Peace, Love, and Serenity movement. Countless numbers of them are heading to Jerusalem. I don’t understand. They should be organizing a defense, instead they’re having a love rally. Don’t these people know what they are up against?”

“Maybe they’ve come to the realization that it’s fruitless.”

“Maybe so, but I’m not going down without a fight. Here I will organize t
he Returned and whoever I can scratch up to meet the first wave of the Ancient Visitors. You all please continue on your mission. If there is a connection with Scripture and there is some way we can figure out how to combat Satan and the Ancient Visitors, I’m all ears. Report back if you hear anything.”

As a demoralized D’Shawn pondered what Marcus just had told him, he noticed Steven staring at Hailey as she and Father Willie questioned James. He then elbowed Steven, “The Kansas farm boy has the hots for the lieutenant.”

  “Shhh,” Steven quickly told D’Shawn.

“Don’t worry; I think she likes you as well. She has the same goofy look on her face when she looks at you that you have looking at her.”

“I’m thinking I’m going to ask her out after this is all over.”

“Boy, you have to be the world’s greatest procrastinator. You mean to tell me, you’re waiting until after an alien invasion, that most likely will result in the apocalypse that wipes out humanity, to finally ask a girl out?”

“Yeah, you’re right,” thought a foolish Steven. “I should ask her out sooner.”

D’Shawn was grateful for his brief reprieve from the impending doom as he got a chance to laugh at his friend.

On the outskirts of Jerusalem, D’Shawn stepped out of the transport and couldn’t believe his eyes as he turned to Steven, “Millions of people converging on Jerusalem. Not one of them is carrying a weapon. An alien invasion is about to happen and they have nothing on them but their white robes. We destroyed an Ancient Visitors’ craft and traveled a thousand years to get back here, but these people hear about a ship then roll over and play dead. I don’t get this.”

Father Willie explained, “You don’t physically have to fight to win a battle. As Christians, we are told that if someone should strike us, we don’t reply in kind. No, we are told to offer the other cheek.”

“Father, these guys have every intention to hit both cheeks, and then feed us to their conquering army. I don’t think they’ll get the message.”

“Excuse me,” Hailey said interrupting. “Through the Council of Nations’ influence, we’ve been told we can speak to Kaiden. One of his followers will meet us here to take us to him.”

No sooner did she mentioned it, one of Kaiden’s people appeared and introduced himself, “Welcome to Jerusalem my friends. I’m Raphael.”

Hailey replied, “Thank you for bringing us to the Peace, Love, and Serenity’s Kaiden.”

“It’s my pleasure,” he told them. “He is looking forward to meeting you all. He’s been expecting you.”

D’Shawn said, “How is it that he’s been expecting us?”

“D’Shawn, Steven, Hailey, and Father Willie, he’s spoken about your arrival for some time now.”

Steven wondered, “It’s only been an hour since we decided to come here. How did Kaiden know we were coming? It’s not like we told anyone we’re coming.”

“He just knows,” Raphael answered. ‘It’s that simple.”

“Simple or not, we want to know how he knew the end was near even before the Ancient Visitors’ ship was detected,” D’Shawn pointed out. “What is it that he knows?”

“He knows all. There is nothing he doesn’t know. I will bring you to him, and you will realize it yourself.”

A skeptical D’Shawn went along with the others. He and Steven were amazed, though, as Hailey told them who some of the people were in the sea of people camped out surrounding Jerusalem. There were government officials and celebrities mixed in with common folk. The crowd itself opened as the group made its way through the streets of Jerusalem through the Old City and on to the Temple mount where Kaiden sat on a bench meditating.

As they approached, Kaiden rose from his sitting position and greeted them, “D’Shawn, Steven, Hailey, and Father Willie, may you find everlasting peace.”

Father Willie responded, “May you find it as well.”

“Thank you, and welcome to the coming of the Kingdom of God. In a short time, the heavens will open up and the power of the Father will show itself for all to see.”

A now more skeptical D’Shawn said, “Listen, we heard you say that the end of time was approaching. You said that before knowledge of the Ancient Visitors’ craft was even detected. How did you know that?”

“How does a mother emperor penguin know its own baby from the hundreds of other babies? She just does. How does the wind know to grab the sails of a ship to push it along? It just does. How does the Son of Man know mankind’s plight? He just does.”

“I’m not sure what that means,” a confused D’Shawn told Kaiden. “Maybe we came to the wrong place. Steven, Hailey and Father Willie, let’s go. We need to get to Pergamon.”

As D’Shawn turned away, Kaiden put his right hand up to D’Shawn’s cheek and told him, “I need you to do something.”

D’Shawn at first was shocked as his eyes looked into the distance. He stood there frozen in his tracks. Then, suddenly, a feeling of happiness overwhelmed him as his legs gave way and he kneeled to the ground.

Kaiden asked, “D’Shawn, will you do this for me?”

  “Of course I will.”

Steven moved toward D’Shawn to grab him as he went to the ground, but Kaiden held his arm out and told him, “He’ll be fine Steven. I’ve asked him to do something for me. As for you, you’ll need to go on to Pergamon without him.”

Puzzled, Steven questioned Kaiden as D’Shawn got up and walked away, “How do you know who we are? And for that matter, how do you know where we’re going? I don’t understand.”

“Understand this Steven,” Kaiden told him while Hailey stood behind Steven. “I need you to grow my sheep. Feed my sheep. Nurture my sheep. At the end of the day, lead my sheep.”

As Father Willie conferred with one of the people sitting on temple mount with Kaiden, an even more confused Steven told him, “I’m not understanding. But I want to warn you that the Ancient Visitors will be here soon and you all need to arm yourselves. The number of people here could put up a decent defense. The Ancient Visitors will have powerful weapons, so you’ll need to gather anything you can muster.”

Before Steven could finish, Kaiden told him, “We have no need for anything like that, for what we have is more powerful than the power of all the stars in the sky. You need not worry if they strike us down. They will then understand the power of the One from above.”

Steven could only stare into Kaiden’s gaze until Father Willie grabbed Steven by the arm to leave. Steven then asked the priest, “We can’t leave. These people will need to get organized. Don’t they know what’s coming? What weapon is he talking about?”

“They fully know the extent of the looming battle ahead,” the priest told Steven. “Behind Kaiden were the Pope and every religious leader from across the globe; some of whom were Muslim Imam’s, Christian Preachers, and Jewish Rabbi’s, as well as, by now, every Minister from the Council of Nations. The Pope herself, instructed me to continue to assist you to the Pergamon ruins in search of Satan’s throne.”

“You didn’t answer me. What weapons do they have to defend themselves?”

The priest solemnly told him as they walked away from the Temple Mount with D’Shawn nowhere in sight, “They have love and forgiveness.”

Now angry, Steven rebuffed, “After the Ancient Visitors fire their deadly energy balls and disintegration weapons, what are these people to do, blow kisses at them?”

By now Steven couldn’t be talked to. He, lost in his disappointment for mankind, walked back to the waiting glass transport in despair. As Hailey ordered the transport on to Pergamon, and Father Willie knelt praying for strength, Steven staring out into the crowds surrounding Jerusalem paying no particular interest to anyone, saw something he couldn’t believe he saw. For standing in the crowd was Gabriel. He first met him when Steven was abducted and placed in a large room with all the abducted from around the world. He became friendly with him during his time on the Ancient Visitors’ ship, but unfortunately, Gabr
iel didn’t make it back to Earth with the others. He did see Gabriel the last time on the Ancient Visitors’ ship when they went to destroy it. Gabriel helped Steven’s team through the perilous trip to the Ancient Visitors’ control room and the liquid computer running the ship. Again, Gabriel didn’t make it back to Earth with them.

Now, as the transport left Jerusalem heading to Pergamon, he looked out the transport thinking that he was imagining seeing Gabriel just as he did back on the Ancient Visitors’ ship.

  Chapter 9

  21st Century.

Johnny finished his research using his Visor to try to determine where the UM ingredients operation had been moved. He had narrowed it down to three remote locations in Asia, Africa, and the Far East. When he told Cameron where the possible locations were Cameron, without hesitation told him, “Now turn your Visor off and throw it from the transport along with mine. From this point out we don’t want to be easily tracked. With a little work, someone could easily hack the information and before long our whereabouts would be known.”

“I don’t know how I feel about that,” Johnny pondered. “It will almost be as if I’m walking around naked.”

“We’ve definitely become attached to our technology,” explained Cameron. “My dad, who shied away from technology, used to tell me when I was young that before the Visor, there were Smart Phones, and PDA’s. Prior to that, there were plain analog phones and would you believe before that, beepers.”

  “What the hell’s a beeper?”

“A device used to indicate you had a telephone call. It did nothing more. However, walking around with no technology Johnny, you’ll wish you had one.”

“Well I hope going forward we’re within shouting distance so we won’t need one,” Johnny said.

“I wanted to talk to you about that, Johnny. I’ve been doing some thinking, and I believe it would be best for us to split up. You go investigate the UM ingredient locations with half of Leonardo’s people. And this is important, just locate the operation and don’t infiltrate it. We don’t want these people, or whatever they are, knowing we’re on their trail. Do nothing but be in the shadows.”
