When the computer arrived at the cruise port on Saturday, Ingrid personally signed for it, and even supervised the delivery and “installation.”
The other suspects/hijackers arrived, disguised as passengers and once everything was in place, they simultaneously overpowered the engine room crew and bridge staff.
Ingrid didn’t want Captain Armati or the others to know she was part of the operation so she anonymously placed an order for a birthday cake for the captain with specific instructions on when it was to be delivered.
The hijackers used the delivery of the cake - and an unsuspecting Amit - to gain access to the bridge.
The first thing they did was scramble communications with the outside world while their co-conspirators aboard the yacht sent a ransom demand to the cruise line. They used the yacht, stationed not far from the cruise ship, as their point of contact to ensure passengers and crew were not able to reach authorities.
“Authorities intercepted a communication a couple days before the ship set sail. It was unclear which cruise ship the hijackers were targeting so they placed sea marshals on all ships leaving the port.”
“Which would explain why the crew from the other cruise ship told some of the crew on our ship about the heightened security,” Lucy said.
“Exactly,” Millie nodded. “According to Ingrid, Boris had already planned the first casualty of their mission. It was to be Dave Patterson, Head of Security.”
“What about the small lifeboat that was headed back to San Juan in search of help?” Gloria asked.
“They made it safely to shore and were in the process of getting help when we regained control of the ship. Siren of the Seas plans to make a quick detour on its way back to Miami to pick up both the crew and the lifeboat.”
Millie finished her last bite of cake and glanced at her watch. “I better get back. I have to help Andy greet guests as they make their way back onto the ship.”
The girls helped her pack everything up, all unanimously deciding they had had enough sun for the day and headed back to the ship.
When they got to the end of the beach, they all glanced behind them at the beautiful private oasis they had just left.
“Today was so much fun,” Andrea said.
“It was fun,” Millie declared. “Maybe you should make this an annual girls’ event and cruise again with us again next year!”

Creamy Bacon Potato Salad
Ingredients:
5 lbs. red potatoes, cooked, cooled and cut into wedges (can sub yellow potatoes)
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups sour cream (regular or light)
4 eggs, cooked, cooled and chopped
10 slices of bacon, fried and crumbled (reserve a couple tbsp. of the grease!)
1 cup sharp or extra sharp cheddar cheese
4 pieces scallion, finely chopped
1 stalk celery finely chopped (optional)
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Directions:
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped eggs, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, chopped scallion, celery, and salt and pepper in large bowl. Add 1 – 2 tablespoons of bacon grease. Blend.
Add cooked potatoes and mix well.
Refrigerate after mixing.
