Matthew brought them back around to the matter at hand.

“We can’t stay here. Not without bringing the wrath of two, maybe even three, Packs down on your heads. Zack trusts the FW to keep us safe. And I trust Zack.”

Seb looked from Ro to Zack to Matt himself and then nodded slowly.

“If you’re sure. But remember, Glenoak will always be a place of safety for the three of you.”

Adam and Ben came to see them off, the twins in tow. At first, Ben had seemed unfriendly and Zack noticed Matt was a little wary of him. But his manner was very different with Adam and the twins. Of the three of them, Zack wasn't sure who adored the Alpha more. He'd warmed to them after their first few meetings and Zack was glad he'd come along with Adam to say goodbye.

Alicia arrived over as well, taking Matt aside for a talk. Zack could guess at what they spoke about and wasn’t surprised when she gave him her number.

“Call me. Day or night,” she said. “I have some house calls to make so I’ll say goodbye now.”

She took Rosie for a moment, rocking the baby back and forth. “She needs a stable home. Give her one, won’t you?”

“We’ll do our best,” Matt promised.

A car pulled up twenty minutes later, two familiar faces in the front seats; Andrew and Graham. Zack stepped forward to greet them. Matt, holding Rosie, hung back a little, but moved closer at Zack’s encouragement.

“It’s good to see you and the little one looking so well,” Andrew said, reaching a hand to stroke one finger across Rosie's cheek.

They kept the rest of their goodbyes short.

Seb and Ro wished them well, Seb and Zack shaking hands, dispelling any lingering tension between them. Matthew pulled Ro into a hug, happy when the wolf hugged him tightly in return. He’d seen the look of longing on the other Omega’s face when he watched the others with their children. Clearly, he and Seb wanted the same thing. He hoped they’d get their wish soon.

“Keep in touch, let us know how she’s getting on,” Adam said, adding “And how you two are getting on, of course.” He smiled knowingly at them. Ben rolled his eyes at Adam’s words as he and Zack packed the bags into the trunk.

“Never fear, Adam’s great at teasing out everything he wants to know. Whether you want him to know, well that’s another thing.” The Alpha’s grin took the sting from his words.

“Thank you, for everything,” Zack said. “We won’t forget.”

He helped Matt into the car and handed Rosie to him before jogging around to climb in the other side.

As the car took off down the driveway, they looked out the window, waving at the strangers who’d taken them in like they were family.

“We’ll be back,” Zack said. “I promised Seb we’d visit. And Alicia wants you and Rosie to come for checks. She is the authority on Omegas and Omega-born children these days.”

“So where are we going?” Matthew asked, looking to Graham and Andrew for an answer.

  “Home,” Andrew said.

Matthew settled against Zack, a sleeping Rosie in his arms.

  “Home,” he echoed. “Where’s that?”

“For me,” Zack said, “it’s wherever you and Rosie are.”

Matthew grinned. “Then we’re already there.”
