She automatically reached her hand toward his, thinking to press his palm closer to her, but he lifted his mouth from hers and gazed down at her.
“No touching. You promised.”
It took everything she had to place her hands back down on the couch at her sides. She let him have his way, reveling in each and every sensation. His fingers, his tongue, and his lips carried her to the heights of pleasure. Months ago, she would not have thought it possible for any man to evoke such feelings within her, but Dean had not only tried, he had succeeded.
Lying on the couch, doing her best to remain still under his tantalizing and teasing fingers, her blood thrumming, her eyes closed and her body tense with the pleasure surging through her, she understood for the first time in her life what true love felt like.
As the waves of her climax eased and Dean’s hand slowly caressed her, the other brushing the hair back from her face, she opened her eyes and looked up at him. He was smiling.
A surge of emotion welled up inside of her. “I love you, Dean.”
A dimple appeared as his smile widened. “I love you, too.”
At that moment, she knew that her love for him was enduring. She knew, without a doubt, no matter what challenges they faced in the future, that she and Dean would make it through.
Dean leaned forward, resting his head on her shoulder, one hand cupping her breast. Both were satisfied and content to merely remain motionless. She lifted her hand and brushed her fingers through his hair. She felt his breath on her neck, slow and steady.
She felt content. Content, loved, and safe.
She couldn’t ask for more.
