“I love you, too, Jake.” I blinked up at him.

“Is that a yes?” He smirked.

“Yes,” I giggled. “I’ll stay here, Jake. With you.” Then his mouth was on mine. A silent, beautiful promise that this time would be different.

  And I believed him.

  Because this time was different.

  I could already feel it.

  Acknowledgments

The last few years have been incredible beyond belief. They have also been challenging, tough, and scary as Hell. I only ever dreamt of publishing my own words. I never, in a million years, would have expected that dream to become a reality. And while it’s been extremely tough at times, with self-doubt and reality playing a major factor at all times, it’s also been the most rewarding few years of my whole entire life. I’ve met so many people while riding this journey. Selfless individuals that support me endlessly. Every single day. Without asking for anything in return. I wish I could give you the world like you’ve given me my dream.

The last few years have shown me that the world can be an incredible and unsuspecting little ball of greatness, that in turn, lead me to this momentous journey I have found myself on.

I love this crazy little world.

First and foremost, I want to thank my readers. Those beautiful individuals that took a chance on little ol’ me and encouraged me to continue on this path. I love each and every one of you. Thank you.

Jake and Mel’s story wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the following humans…

My Wonderland family… Bam Bam, Vic, Wee and Fanny… For always having my back. I love you guys epic amounts. Five years ago I stumbled into your little family, scared, excited, doubtful if I could ever measure up to your greatness. But none of that mattered. You took me under your wings, showed me how beautiful the world could be, and never let me go. You guys are my family, and I couldn’t wish for a greater group of people to share these special moments with.

Lou J. Stock. As always, there aren’t enough words to express how much you mean to me. Your time and love mean the absolute world and I can’t begin to thank you enough for all that you do for me. You are selfless, extraordinary and beautiful. I hope one day you realise how truly special you are. And until that day, I will continue to remind you exactly that. A special thank you for all the designs and input you have in creating my beautiful babies and bringing them to life. Thank you just isn’t enough. I hope I get to squish you for reals sometime soon. I love you, lady!

Victoria L. James. My piss-up partner. Where do I even begin? Thank you for believing me in, encouraging me and supporting me day after day. Your pep talks have made me stronger than I ever thought possible and I can’t begin to thank you enough for all that you have done, and still do, for me. Over the last year our friendship has grown, blossoming into something beautiful. I cannot wait for many more years of drunken shenanigans and crazy nights out with you (and Carlos, obvs). I love you. P.S. Thank you for letting me steal Marcus and Danni. Those two will always hold a special place in my heart.

To Sue Hollingmode, Carol Coulthard, Kristina Hanicar and Mary Green. Gah… I fuckin’ love you ladies. Thank you for being by my side, supporting me and encouraging me to do well. I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am for your friendships. I guess we can thank that little blue bird for bringing us all together, hey? Here’s to many more beautiful years together.

To my beta readers... Tammara Rhodes, Kathleen Matthys, Ann Langley, Qubra Mageman, Erin McFarland, Joanne Bulmer, and Nadia-my little pocket rocket. Thank you for your time, patience and kind words throughout this process. I’ve come to know each of you individually and I can hand on heart say that the book world is a better place with you ladies in it. I kinda freakin’ love ya.

To Claire and Wendy of Bare Naked Words. Without you ladies I would be sitting on the bottom step, rocking like a loon while my anxiety goes into overdrive. You make release days so much easier, fun, and rewarding. Not only are you incredible individuals, you are also a credit to this book world. Thank you for your patience, support and laughs along the way.

To my family. There are far too many of you to name but I couldn’t not mention how incredibly proud I am to be a part of your family. Whether it’s being a daughter, sister, aunt or mum… your support, love and kindness means the absolute world to me, and I hope I can make you as proud of me as I am of you. I love you all.

Last, but by no means least… To Sam… Thank you for loving me, supporting me, and protecting me these past 9 years. You haven’t had it easy with me but hey, you can’t say it hasn’t been fun, right? I also need to thank you for producing beautiful babies (although I think they get their looks from me) for me to smile at, love, and adore each and every single day. I’m truly blessed to have you in my life. Even though you are a prick. LOLS. Anyway, I adore you with all my heart n stuff. In fact, I’d kinda like to spend the rest of my days with you, if you’d have me…

You’re the Stefan to my Elena

  The Edward to my Bella

  The marmite to my crumpet

  The jelly to my tot

  But more than that…

You are the key to my heart

So, what do you reckon, ay?

  Fancy getting married?
