That’s news to me. Gemma works her ass off to support herself and her siblings. She works three jobs, one of which is at a seedy fucking strip joint I plan on getting her to quit as soon as she’s mine. As far as I knew, Gemma was doing okay. Or, at least, that’s what the search I ran on her said. If I’d known she was struggling, I would have stepped in a fuck of a lot sooner. Shit!

“How long’s she got?” I grate out.

“A month, maybe two. She’s four months behind, and

the bank is getting antsy.” Raking his hand through his greasy hair, John looks nervous – as he should be – when he

says, “I didn’t bring her up to upset you. I just…I mean, I just thought that seeing as your name is on her loan as a co-signer it would be a way for me to make my approach. I’ve wanted to talk to you for a long time; as long as I knew you had moved to town, actually.”

“I’ve lived here five years, why now? And as for me being on Gem’s loan, I’d prefer you kept that shit to yourself,” I say in warning.

See, Gemma has no fucking clue I added myself onto her mortgage, nor did I plan on telling her about it. My girl is fiercely independent. Not to mention, I didn’t exactly do what I do through entirely legal channels. And before you ask me why I’d do it, I’ll tell you. I wanted Gemma dependent on me. I know, dick move and all, but I wanted my girl to be tied to me. Adding myself as a co-signer was just the first of many ways I intended to do that.

“How much does she owe?” I question, placing my hands on the table in front of us.

“Eight thousand, nine hundred, thirty-two dollars, not including whatever interest has been added since I last checked,” he replies quickly, eyeing my scarred knuckles before his gaze darts back up to my face.

“And what do you get out of giving me this heads up?”

His body jerks in shock at my question, but he does well

to hide his reaction, covering it up with a small grin, saying,

“All I want is a chance to get to know you, Ryker. Whether you want it to be so or not, you’re my son, and that means something to me. Your mother never told me she was pregnant or I would have been in your life this whole time.”

Regardless of how hard she fights it, how much she pushed me away, Gemma and I have more in common than she realizes. And if she thinks for one second I’ll stop fighting for a future with her, she’s dead fucking wrong. She’s mine. My soulmate. My destiny. My fucking everything. So ready or not, I’m going to get my girl.

  A note from the author…

I’m sure you are all cursing me right about now as it pertains to the lack of closure to Emmy and Gemma’s relationship. And if I didn’t have something very special in store for you, I would completely understand.

After I release the next novella in the Forever After series, Owned, and the first book in the Dark Knights series, I will be releasing a trilogy of books that feature Ryker aka, Shade, and Gemma.

I thought long and hard about how I would develop their story, and whether it would become a part of the Vengeance series. A few months ago I had an idea for a collection of three books, that I wanted to release a week apart. Yes, the first two books would end on a cliffhanger (something unheard of for me), which is why I would be releasing them so close together. Not to mention, I love my readers and don’t want you to have to wait to find out what happens.

As Sarge’s story developed, Shade spoke to me. It took less than one paragraph for me to recognize he was the man I had envisaged when I thought of this trilogy. That said, it meant that I wasn’t able to bring Emmy and Gemma’s story to a close in Sarge’s book. Their relationship will take work, time, and forgiveness that just couldn’t

Be wrapped up, even if I had given them a chapter of their own.

On the plus side, my decision to carry Gemma and Emmy’s story over into, The Truth About Ryker, All Of His Lies, and Trusting His Heart (Ryker’s trilogy) means that you haven’t seen the last of Vengeance MC. Where some of you may have thought Sarge was the natural conclusion to the series, but that’s where you’re wrong.

Vengeance still has so many stories to tell, and men who have yet to meet their match. Sly who featured heavily in the first three books, Hoss who made his appearance in, Sarge, along with Ghost, Ratchet, and Mase have books just begging to be written. I can’t promise they will be soon, but rest assured, they will happen.

So on that note, I will leave you with what I hope is enough to show you that one day soon Emmy and Gemma will find their way back to one another…

“No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.”

  ~ Author Bio ~

Wife of a workaholic, perfectionist, amusing and altogether too sexy husband. Mother of three, and let me tell you this is not easy seeing as they are sixteen, fourteen, and ten. Not to mention, the owner of a large, occasionally ill-mannered Rottweiler called Caine, lastly, I am an indie author.

Born in, New Zealand, I moved to Australia the year I turned eight. Growing up with a younger brother and two loving parents, it wasn't long before I realized my love of reading, creative writing, all things rock 'n' roll, concerts, ripped jeans and vintage heavy metal t-shirts.

With the support of my family, I was able to make my dream of publishing my own book come true in early 2015 with the release of the first book in the Devil's Spawn MC series. Now, with seven books in my first series, it's on to my next projects, the Vengeance MC and Patricks' Brothers series with hopefully many more to follow...
