“The Tailor, ight?” Alyssa asks.
The tatted-up rocker only nods his head as he hands them their hotel room keys.
“I was told not to let you through. But here are your hotel room keys for the night, limo will be outside.”
“The Tailor can’t be that unpopular,” Alyssa begins, in an attempt to get her way. “I know a few women if you’re interested. They’re a bit adventurous, you could even have a three—”
The Tailor cuts her off and turns them around apologetically. From the expression on Alyssa’s face she seems a little bit offended, but she’s quickly distracted as she notices a couple of men walking determinedly toward them in the distance. Before the girls can step away, they notice the grim reaper leather vests the men have on. The large men have the hooded coke dealer in custody. They quickly push him past the Tailor and toward the dressing room.
The poor guy already has bruises on his face. His lip is busted open and bleeding. The dealer notices Jewel and Alyssa and makes a desperately terrified face before he is gone from view. The two men shove him into the dressing room and he stumbles forward before falling.
Jewel hasn’t seen either of these two men before, but she knows what their vests mean. She grabs Alyssa by the arm and ushers her away from the scene. Whatever is about to happen, Jewel doesn’t want any part in it, and she knows it’s best if Alyssa doesn’t know either.
“Did you see that?” Alyssa asks.
“Yes. We basically got some poor dude bea—”
“No, not him. The Tailor! What an asshole!”
“Oh,” Jewel replies, suppressing the urge to roll her eyes. Of course she was more offended by being turned away.
“I can’t believe it.”
“Alyssa, he probably doesn’t have issues getting girls, or threesomes. You weren’t offering him anything he couldn’t already get.”
“But—”
“Come on. Let’s just go. You can sulk over the Tailor at the hotel. I just want to get out of here.”
“Yeah, you’re right,” Alyssa finally agrees, her face lighting up at the reminder that they get to take a limo. With that, the two of them make their way through the still crowded club to get to the limousine parked outside. The driver has already become familiar with them and greets them by their names as they get in. He asks them about the concert. They make small talk during while on the road in order to avoid thinking about what they just witnessed.
CHAPTER FIFTEEN
When they finally arrive at the hotel, Alyssa , “I could get used to riding everywhere in a limo.”
“Yeah, me too. It so spacious and luxurious.” Jewel responds.
“I can’t believe they’re still getting us a limo though, considering we’re not first time customers anymore,” Alyssa admits elbowing Jewel on the side.
“Yeah, yeah. Come on, let’s hit the bar,” Jewel offers
Walking to the bar, Jewel starts to admit to herself that she is becoming anxious.
This is no longer a “don’t worry about the consequences and just have the sex of your life” situation anymore. I’ve got to make sure Alyssa really understands what we’re getting into. We’ve already seen a lot more than the normal groupies and fangirls would have at this point. This is all starting to seem too dangerous.
Jewel just doesn’t think that Alyssa cares about anything. Alyssa’s always been the carefree one, and therefore the one to get into the most trouble. Jewel shakes her head, knowing she’ll have to look out for the both of them.
The bar is a brightly light room, with one bartender on each side of the wide bar. One is cleaning a shot glass and the other is serving up fresh drinks. The interior of this hotel looks even fancier than the one last night. Jewel takes a second to wonder how the room will be adorned.
The two of them sit in front of the less-busy looking bartender. He has black hair and is wearing a blue vest on a white undershirt. Jewel gets a beer and Alyssa orders a shot of vanilla vodka with cream soda. Jewel gives her friend a funny look over her choice of drink, but quickly shrugs it off.
The girl is allowed to order whatever she wants.
Neither woman starts the conversation off with anything of real potential. Instead, it’s idle talk about the suites and hotel rooms, food quality and other nonchalant topics. Before long, Jewel starts to get impatient. She wants to bring up the band, but more importantly, she wants to bring up the Grimms.
To segue into the topic, Jewel and Alyssa talk about what it’s been like with Vincent and Ash. There isn’t much to talk about other than the sex, because in all reality, they barely even know these guys. Slowly, Jewel brings up the Grimm side of it, how Alyssa feels about it, what they’ve seen so far and what it has meant. She finally gets the chance to bring up the question that has been bugging her this entire time.
“Are you actually willing to deal with the Grimm side of Vincent? You can’t just be hopeful thinking that you’ll just get sex until he goes on tour elsewhere. Alyssa, we’ve seen a lot of things. Vincent doesn’t just look at you like some piece of meat. Same with Ash. Maybe it’s not all just sex like you think it is… and that means there are far more implications at play here than you want to think.”
Alyssa doesn’t respond at first. She just sits there, swirling around the last drops of her mixed drink in her glass. After the bartender serves them fresh drinks, Alyssa turns to Jewel.
“I’m a bit scared about all this, yeah. It’s just… well, admittedly, this is more than a weekend fling. I won’t lie to you. I feel like I’ve bit off more than I can chew… I don’t quite know what to do about it. It’s easier to just go on like it’s a weekend fling. Who knows, maybe that’s all it will turn out to be— despite how it feels.”
Before Jewel can respond the rumbling of motorcycles steals her attention. Both Jewel and Alyssa finish off their drinks. As they stand up to leave they hear a familiar voice behind them. It startles them because they didn’t hear him walk up behind them.
“Well, if it isn’t my boys’ new favorite pets.” Wolfe gives a curt laugh at their startled reaction before becoming serious again. “Thanks for spottin’ that low-life. It was rather nice of you two to let us know.”
He shifts his gaze. “We don’t appreciate people bringin’ those kinds of things to our shows.”
Jewel is flushed with nervousness. She tries to keep her voice calm as she dares to ask a question. “And… what did you do with him?”
“Oh, you girls don’t need to worry about that,” he advises sharply. He turns his tone to a pleasantry, and with a slight smile, says, “Just enjoy yourselves while you can.”
Wolfe’s spider tattoo becomes more visible as her turns around and walks away.
Jewel gives Alyssa a glance. “I told you so.”
Alyssa just shrugs.
“Don’t play stupid. This isn’t just water under the bridge.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll be careful, but we’ve got some company now.”
Alyssa smirks.
“But I’m not going to be careful with him in bed.”
Alyssa shakes her hips in a provocative movement, but pauses for a moment
“Do I look okay?”
“Yeah, you look fine. He’ll be all over you, like usual,” Jewel responds flatly.
In the distance, the girls watch as Ash and Vincent mosey up toward the bar. They stop where Wolfe had just been. As usual, Vincent grabs Alyssa, and she wraps her arms around him. Their mouths make instant contact before words are even exchanged. In just moments, they’re getting into it. Alyssa waves bye to Jewel as she and Vincent make their way out of the bar. Jewel just smiles.
At least she can have her fun… I just hope she’s careful.
Jewel doesn’t take spend much time thinking though, because Ash doesn’t waste time in grabbing her up either. He pulls her into him in the same way as before, grabbing her by the waist and pulling her figure up against his. The warmth of his body is inviting and her hands caress his muscles befor
e they share a kiss. As they separate enough to walk, Ash smacks her ass, and then leads them up to his room.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Ash and Jewel don’t even make it into the room before Ash pushes Jewel against the door and starts to kiss her neck. He’s biting nibbling up to her ear and she’s starting to squirm under him. She lets out a deep breath and runs her hand down his back and to his pants, she runs her fingers along the waist to the front. She remembers the room key and pulls it out of her pocket to get it into the door slot behind her. Ash grabs her hand and takes it from her as she melts.
Suddenly, he stops. He grabs her hands and pins them above her head. He slowly kisses from her ear, to her neck, to her collarbone.
Then he ceases. Very slowly, almost agonizingly, he takes his time opening the door. They step inside and Ash is quickly all over her again.
“I’m ready for my dessert now. It’s all I can think about.”
His hands travel up and down her body, pausing momentarily at her breasts to give them some extra attention. Jewel bites her lip and pushes Ash into a position that lets her attack his neck. He pushes her onto the bed. She notices that he is wearing a grim reaper vest.
“Ash.” She is suddenly serious. “What’s that about? Are you in a band, or are you in a gang?”
Her face shows pure concern. He stops and takes a breath. Ash steps up to her, taking the vest off. He puts his hand into her hair and bites her neck gently up to her ear before whispering, “Do you want to know, or do you just want to fuck?”
She mulls the question over for a moment, unable to ignore the wet sensation that’s already nagging at her to undress him. His hand descends from her breast to her pants, and his fingers travel along the inside seam of her jeans. She shakes her head and pulls his face to hers to kiss him.
“Just fuck me,” she says as their lips meet. She starts undoing his jeans.
Ash rips his shirt off as he pushes her onto the bed. They’re both in nothing but underwear. Ash is at her knees, and he kisses the insides of her thighs, then moves her panties, pulling them away to slowly lick her slit from bottom to top. She gasps and moans, starting to squirm as he continues to tease her. She’s disappointed when he stops. She’s impatient to have him inside of her.
Ash pushes himself against her, allowing his erection to come out of his boxers and press into her panties. She embraces it, wishing that he’d just start already. Instead she pulls him into her and kisses him. Their tongues fight back and forth for space in each other’s mouths before she’s distracted by him rubbing against her clit.
Before too long, she’s begging for him to end the teasing already. He kindly obliges. By this time Jewel is so sensitive she moans as he slips into her. On her back, Ash grabs her ankles, puts her legs together, and pushes her knees toward her chest. She’s all his. He enters slowly and retracts fast. They continue, moving to the edge of the bed, off the side of the bed, onto the floor. He gets her in each position he wants, on the chair, over the chair, against the dresser and on the dresser. This time, he teaches her some new positions that she hadn’t seen before. They hit all the right spots. Jewel can’t stop herself from nearly screaming the entire time.
Finally, when Jewel is finished , and thoroughly exhausted, Ash lets himself finish. Afterwards they lay in bed, and Jewel snuggles up to Ash. Lying there with him, their sweat mingled, she knows it is far too late for her. She’s drowned herself in a sea of complications. She can’t bear the thought of him being with anyone else. As they slow their breathing and Ash offers her a bottle of water, she reminds herself that tomorrow is back to work. Ash won’t be around anymore. Thinking about it kind of stings, so Jewel pushes the thought aside.
For a while they don’t talk about anything. Jewel traces her finger down his chest and to his pelvis. As she begins to play with him she asks if he’s up for a round two, but she can feel that he is.
Teasingly, he asks, “Can you handle a round two?”
“Guess we’ll find out,” she says with a wink, and she gets on top of him. She feels like this time she’s going to do her best to remain in control. Really, she’s just curious to see how long it’ll take for his commanding side to take over.
Jewel’s question is answered in the next moment as he flips them over and pins to her to the bed.
“Nice try, but you know I’m the lead singer,” he retorts as he begins to kiss her body.
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Sitting in the office on this early Monday morning is a breath of fresh air for Jewel. The place smells like the familiar scent new cars, familiar faces bring comfort. In this moment she is grateful for the predictable aspects of her life, the parts that allow balance so that she can truly enjoy the excitement of the unknown when it shows up, like last weekend.
It’s days like these that really make my weekends enjoyable, she reminds herself as she checks her calendar for the day.
Monday day isn’t all that bad this time. The schedule is light, her to-do list is slim, and it seems like a great time to just relax and enjoy the flow of life.
While she is updating the dealership’s website with a promotional offer for a couple of last year’s trucks, her mind starts to wander back to Ash. She wonders what he’s doing right now and how his shows have been going. She starts to wonder if he’s sleeping with other women, and if he’s enjoying it. Secretly she hopes that she set the bar high and the rest of the women are a disappointment now. Then, she starts to think back to last night. She just sits there tapping her pen on the desk, staring off at her computer screen.
“Back to reality,” she tells herself as she shakes the thoughts from her head.
As she regains her focus to start setting up the second promotional advertisement, she slowly nods her head.
“It was definitely fun, but I’m glad it’s over. I shouldn’t be hanging out with guys like that,” she whispers to herself.
Before Jewel’s lunch break Carol comes up to her. She sits on the edge of her desk in the usual fashion.
“So how was your weekend?” Carol asks, giving Jewel a wink.
Jewel huffs and takes a slow breath in. She needs the extra time to think of what to say. She’s doesn’t want to admit she partied with band members all weekend.
“Well, Cathy really wants me to go on a second date with him,” Jewel says, which in reality is true.
This morning before work, her sister sent her a message about how Max wanted to try again. He was hoping to make up for the first date, because he admitted it didn’t go that well. Of course, Jewel hasn’t yet agreed, but it keeps her from having to admit fully that she abandoned her date and went out with a musician all weekend.
“From the sound of it, it didn’t go great?” Carol inquires.
Jewel lets out a curt laugh. “You could say that. He was pretty interested in the wine though. Less so interested in me.” Carol’s eyes widen.
“Really?”
Jewel nods.
“Are you going to go out with him again?”
There is a slight hesitation on Jewel’s part before she shrugs. “I don’t know yet. I’m thinking about it.”
Jewel figures it might be worth a shot, considering it could help get her mind off Ash and get her focus back on normal guys.
Well, either that or he’ll make me want Ash that much more…
Carol taps the desk as she gets back to her feet. “Well, good luck with that. Let me know how it goes?”
“Will do.”
For a moment, Jewel wishes she weren’t here. Instead, she wants to be with Ash. Watching another one of his shows, getting all flustered and being there for him after he is done. She imagines herself laying in his hotel bed provocatively, patiently awaiting his entrance only for him to come in and ravish her. She lets out a sigh as she grabs her food from the fridge and punches out for lunch.
“Normal guys,” she scoffs, thinking about how the optometrist would have been in bed… disappointing, Jewel assumes.
During lunch Jewel gets the urge to look up some of Ash’s music. She wants to hear his voice again and imagine him up on the stage giving another great performance. She types in his name on her phone and pulls up one of his songs, “Smoke on the Way.” As she listens to it, she recognizes that it’s one of the songs she heard during both concerts.
Jewel sits back as she munches on her chips and listens to the words. Knowing Ash personally the song makes much more sense, and hits home a bit more, too. It sounds like it’s about when he was getting off his addiction to drugs, and how getting back to being clean was a difficult journey.
She can’t help but to admire Ash for how he went from a drug addict to a clean musician. Usually it’s the other way around.
Unfortunately for Jewel her lunch break seems to vanish in an instant. The rest of the afternoon follows the same pattern. For the remainder of the day she lets herself delve into mundane tasks in an attempt to keep herself occupied. But each time she tries she gets caught up daydreaming about the excitement of her weekend. The rest of her day is filled with updating the dealership website, helping customers find salesmen, and answering the phone.
Before she knows it, it’s Friday. Her sister hasn’t quit bugging her about giving the optometrist a second chance, saying that she knows it didn’t go well the first time but sometimes guys just need a second chance. By now Jewel is ready to give in. As she gets ready for work, she finally sends her sister a text agreeing to a second date.
I can’t believe I’m going on another date with Max.
As Jewel thinks about it she remembers him droning on about the wine, the fish, and even how he was just drawing invisible shapes in the air while she walked out on him. She groans as a disgusted shiver travels her spine. Just the thought makes her half-regret agreeing to go through it all over again.
