He hovered over her, enveloping her within his arms. His biceps flexed as he drew himself up and into her, till his face was almost level with her beautiful breasts. They were perfect, as if the world’s greatest artist had sculpted them, then airbrushed their exquisite roundness and symmetry with the most spectacular complexion.

Her brown nipples were semi-pebbled, their points gathered like chocolate kisses. Brodie stretched out the tip of his tongue to taste her. He drew her between his teeth and gently bit, capturing her. He tugged and flicked the sensitive tip with his tongue, taking great pleasure in teasing her while she writhed carefully beneath him. An undeniable current traversed between the two of them, and Brodie began to hum. He took hold of her hips and pressed forward, driving far inside her.

Cara released a wildcat cry, something between a declaration and a plea. Brodie swiveled, tantalizing her with his in-and-out pulsing, a wanton move that did as much to their minds as it did to their bodies.

“Does that feel good?” he asked, knowing full well that it did, because he knew how to push the limits sexually and loved every minute of it himself.

Unable to speak, she could only nod.

He rolled onto his back and, while bracing her, lifted her with the momentum, never once disconnecting from her body.

Suddenly, Cara’s eyes flew open in surprise.

“You okay?” he asked in a honeyed voice.

Again, she could find no words, so she responded with action, taking charge by pressing his face between her palms. She situated her legs around his hips and let her weight sink down on him, stirring a wonderful sensation in both of them. She sharply drew in a breath through her nose, pausing to adjust to the feel of him.

Brodie had to mentally collect himself, to literally talk himself down from coming too soon. She was so light and petite that he could manipulate her this way and that, but her weight was just enough to create the perfect sensation. She held him with sweet snugness and rocked on him, lazily at first but then with the force of a ravaging beast, just as crazed with desire as he was.

He spied on her as she worked him, watching her breasts bobble as she pumped. Brodie toyed with the wetness between her legs as she splayed her hands on his formidable chest. He had played baseball in college, and he’d managed to maintain his lean form through rigorous, disciplined workouts, something she obviously appreciated.

His flesh didn’t give at all as she worked his lower half furiously. She was a little devil, to be sure, but she was also in great shape. Her lithe, petite form was taut; he could span her waist with his hands. Her hips spread to a nice fullness, and her breasts fit perfectly in the palms of his hands.

Brodie had to cup those mounds, and their softness practically melted like butter in the heat of his hands while he teased her nipples with his thumbs. He thrust into her in counter-rhythm to her bucking, then instantly slowed the pace, hoping Cara would follow his lead so they could make the moment last. He gripped her and swirled inside her, mixing up their motion.

She moaned, deep and guttural, pleased by him, showing her approval since she could no longer use her words. He felt her body flow on him, like a scorching fountain.

He tipped her, causing her to land softly on the mattress. Once they were side by side, he could look into her eyes, drunk with passion. He drew his hand down the curves of her buttocks and pushed her against him. He stroked her slender thigh and guided it open so he could see all of her. He pressed between her center with his thumb as he pumped into her, and Cara could only shake her head back and forth, trying to withstand the intensity.

The sight of her hair flying back and cascading in a silky fountain around her angelic face was about all Brodie could handle; it pushed him over the edge. He touched the sleek strands, allowing the sensation of it to push him forward, up that sugared hill. He wanted to hold off, to make the moment last forever, but he also had the ancient urge to burst within her. Unable to stop himself from going over the edge and driven by an animal surge, his pace was steady and sure.

He hammered into her, kneading her clit with a pressured touch. He felt her body transform as well, for she tensed, and her muscles were less fluid, her channel ever tightening. If it was possible, her core grew even hotter, scalding his travels to erotic nirvana.

Brodie heard his own voice calling to the gods, releasing his bliss and agony. The pressure built, the sensations unforgettably good, but it was literally coming to a head. He seized, then released, and passion poured from him in molten spurts as Cara tumbled into her own powerful orgasm.

Sweet ripples rolled through her body, gripping him, milking him. Just when the moment seemed more amazing than was possible, it became even more so. Brodie saw fireworks, a burst of psychedelic colors as his climax pushed through him like an erotic visitation. He had never experienced anything like it.

It took quite some time for their ecstasy to play out. He pressed his eyes shut as it washed through the top of his head and out through his fingers and toes. It was so cleansing, so renewing, so unbelievable.

Finally he peeked at her through cracks of his passion-heavy lids and found Cara, stunned and motionless.

“Oh my goodness,” she declared, breathless.

“Indeed,” he said, then got up and dashed to the kitchen for two bottles of chilled water. When he returned, he handed one to the petite goddess who got his blood pumping again, sprawled naked on the bed as she was. “No way,” he said, in disbelief of his own reignited lust.

  She smiled. “No way what?”

“I want you…again.” He crawled on the bed, and the icy plastic brushed his hip.

She unscrewed the bottle and sipped it erotically.

“You’re not helping things,” he said, an absolute goner.

She took another sip and licked her lips.

“On second thought, maybe you are helping…a lot.”

  Chapter Nine

The second round was just a sweet extension of the first, Bliss 2.0, but their feverish lovemaking left them both quite fatigued, and both had to push their bodies to milk the last of the electric pleasure neither wanted to end.

Brodie fell into a deep sleep, only to find himself suddenly wide awake, with a strong urge to go check on his son. He glanced over at Cara, comfortably asleep in the crook of his arm, and he wanted to enjoy her company for just a little while longer. He stared at the ceiling and smiled. We’re like…wildfire, he thought, recalling the rush of it, that all-consuming inferno that had peaked and passed. He relished the warmth that remained, toying with her hair. It was really all so new for him, as he’d never felt like that with anyone before, and it was difficult to sort it out in his head.

Without a word, Cara awoke, turned, and began feeling around.

“What are you looking for?” he asked gently.

  “Clothes,” she murmured.

  “Why?” he asked.

“I need to take my sister home,” she murmured, then laughed nervously at herself. “I have this habit of falling into catnaps after…that,” she said with a sleepy smile.

“After what? Intense, mind-blowing sex?” Brodie teased.

  “Yeah, that.”

Brodie gathered her in his arms. “I can ask my driver to take Maya home, or would that be rude?”

  “I-I don’t know, Brodie.”

“Damn, I was looking forward to holding you all night. I’d just prefer to do it in my room.”

The sound of her groggy voice threatened to arouse him again as she asked, “There’s a guest room in the house, isn’t there?”

  “And then some,” replied Brodie.

“Hmm. I bet I could convince her to stay in there,” Cara suggested. “Like I said, she’s got nobody to hurry home to.”

Brodie wasn’t too keen on the idea, because he had fantasies of destroying his bedroom in a sex romp, with Cara front and center. It would definitely cramp his style knowing her sister was within earshot, maybe listening in like an overbearing, prudish mother-in-la
w.

While Cara walked ahead of him into the main house, Brodie put his clothes on. As he drew his shirt down over his face, he was met with the very pleasant scent of her perfume, so soft and classy and yet more evidence of her impeccable taste. He stopped for a moment to savor the sweet allure of it, then headed in through the sliding-glass door where Cara stood. He took her hand and quietly guided her to the nursery, so they could bid little Thomas goodnight together.

It wasn’t lost on Brodie that Cara had to try hard to squelch her excitement as she gazed down at the angelic child, asleep in his crib. However, their joy was short-lived, because as soon as they stepped in the hallway Brodie was met with the disapproving look of Maya. He thought he might have been imagining it, but she certainly didn’t seem to like much about him, least of all that he was likely doing her sister, which he was and intended to continue.

“Uh…just came to say goodnight,” Brodie stuttered, as civilly as he could under her harsh glare.

“Is the baby up?” Maya asked stiffly.

  “No,” said Brodie.

“Then why were you in there?” she asked.

“Because I love him,” Brodie responded sarcastically.

“Shh,” Cara cautioned, putting a finger to her delicious lips as she stepped between them. “We don’t wanna wake him. Let’s just go to bed.”

“Go to bed? Excuse me?” Maya said, confused.

“There’s a guest room. Feel free to use it,” Brodie said, “or else I can ask my driver to take you home.”

With a nasty roll of her eyes, Maya cast her stare of disbelief at her sister. “Well, I suppose somebody should stay to look after the child, since you two will obviously be…busy,” she snapped.

“Good idea,” Brodie said with a smirk.

“’Night, sis,” Cara said, then casually followed Brodie to his room.

She was the first woman he had invited to his bed since before the baby was born, and even after expending so much energy together, he couldn’t sleep that well with her next to him. Even though Cara slept like a rock, entirely comfortable nestled up against him, he was awake with the sun, miffed that he’d missed his chance to sleep in.

By all rights, he shouldn’t have been able to lift his weary body off the sheets till hours beyond noon. As he suspected, Cara Rodriguez turned out to be an incredibly fiery woman, someone who turned unforgettable, indelible love into exhaustion. As tired as he was, he couldn’t help smiling as he recalled their night on his way out of the room.

He used the guest bathroom off the kitchen, so as not to wake anyone. His staff was practically invisible, like that elf in the old children’s story, the one who stole in to fix the shoes while the cobbler slept. They worked around him and his busy schedule, to the point where he didn’t even realize they were there, and one of them had already prepared his coffeepot and set the timer so he was greeted with the aroma of fresh-made, caffeinated bliss as soon as he walked in the kitchen.

As he filled his mug, he imagined Maya’s scowling face, checking on his son, but he quickly put that thought out of his mind. With his cup full of straight black, he walked out to the patio to enjoy the absolutely perfect weather. The sound of his gardener quietly trimming his landscape was like a lullaby, and everything in the world seemed right.

Unfortunately, Brodie and his elves were not the only early risers, for just as he sat, his phone began to buzz. As a wealthy man of industry, he was used to interruptions, used to seldom having a moment’s peace. He debated whether he should answer, but he recognized the number as that of the lawyer from the closing dinner. “Hey, good morning,” Brodie answered with as much exuberance as he could muster.

“I knew it,” said the lawyer before letting out a cackle.

Brodie put him on speakerphone and enjoyed another sip of coffee before asking, “What is it you think you know?”

“You’re bangin’ that little number, aren’t you? I can hear it in your voice. Dude, I don’t blame you. She’s smokin’.”

“Is that why you ruined my morning serenity? And here I thought you were gonna speak to me about my fortune and business acumen,” Brodie said with a chuckle, though he secretly felt like a stud, reverting back to the guy talk of his bad-boy days. After all, Cara was a hot little number, and he had definitely scored.

“Where did you find her anyway?” asked the lawyer.

“Find her? God, she’s not a stray dog,” scolded Brodie.

“Well if she were, dude, I’d have to say you got the pick of the litter,” replied the lawyer. “Does she have a sister?”

“Yeah, but she’s…a bit of a mutt,” Brodie joked, then instantly felt a bit bad for it. “Okay, okay. I got it. You wish you were me,” kidded Brodie.

“I always have, but now I really do. Spill it, man. How is she in bed…or on the floor or in the car or…”

“That’s it. Now you’re just being inappropriate. It’s creeping me out, and I’m gonna have to ask you to stop,” Brodie snapped, suddenly regaining his conscience and maturity, feeling his chest tightening with annoyance that surprised him, as he’d never felt defensive of his dates before.

“Just tell me, is she, um…spoken for?” asked the lawyer, refusing to change the subject. “I mean, are you two a thing? Are you tellin’ me the playboy seen his day?”

“Oh hell no,” scoffed Brodie, struggling to keep his cool. Whatever it was inside of him that had kept him from ever really committing to a woman was still alive, and he didn’t want his friends and acquaintances to think otherwise. He thought he had worked through all that the moment he beheld Cara’s magnificence beneath him, but confusion still stirred within him, an identity crisis of sorts. As beautiful as she was, she was also an enigma he couldn’t figure out, and, most of all, she was doing things to him that he couldn’t explain, things that went far beyond how hard she made his cock.

“Hey, I gotta ask,” the lawyer defended with a laugh. “You do pay me for my ability to sense opportunity, you know. If you’re all done with her, and if she’s not spoken for, I’m not opposed to—”

“Damn it,” Brodie said with a snarl, so frustrated with the jerk that he was ready to fire him. “What do you expect me to do? Just pass her around?”

“Cool it, man,” the attorney said.

“No, you cool it. I told you not to cross the line,” Brodie barked.

“Dude, cut me a break. I’m still up from last night,” said the lawyer.

“I don’t wanna hear this shit. Maybe you should go,” said Brodie.

“C’mon, man. I’m sure she’d be a good sport about it,” the guy chortled, only agitating Brodie further.

  “She’s…a great friend,” said Brodie.

  “A friend you fu—”

“Well, yeah, a friend with benefits,” he blurted, just in time to whip around and find Maya staring at him.

“Brodie…” she said, crossing her arms and staring him down.

“You know, it isn’t polite to listen in on other people’s phone calls.”

“I’d never get the truth if I didn’t,” she retorted.

“Gotta go,” Brodie said to the attorney, then quickly ended the call. He felt filthy and awful, and he knew it was all his fault. Back in the day, the lawyer’s crude remarks wouldn’t have bothered him, and he would have been glad to hear the tales of his all-night partying, but something about it did not sit well with Brodie this time. In fact, the whole conversation had him writing the man’s pink slip in his head.

When he heard the front door close, his fatherly instincts sent him running to see who it was. He wandered from the patio though the house and to the baby’s room, then to his room to see if Cara was still snoozing happily in his bed. “Cara?” he called casually, but he didn’t receive an answer.

Assuming she was in the bathroom or in the kitchen, whipping up another tasty pastry for him, Brodie decided to break the cardinal rule and wake his son so little Thomas and he could tell Cara good morning together when they
found her.

As he walked into the nursey, Thomas’s sweet little eyes opened. At two months, he had just begun to smile, and the expression was so wonderfully spectacular that the rainbows of Waikiki paled in comparison. He lifted his son, still warm from his sleep, and pressed his lips to his sweet, soft skin.

“Cara?” Brodie called as he walked around, eager for the three of them to share a moment.

He thought maybe she had the same idea as he did and went to the patio with her morning coffee. The house was big enough that it wasn’t that easy to cross paths, so he wasn’t that worried about his delay in finding her.

After a while, he did begin to wonder if she, not just her sister, was the one who’d rushed out the front door. When he gave her a call, half-expecting to hear her phone ringing from elsewhere in the huge house, the call went straight to voice mail.

“Hey,” Brodie said, his voice tight with worry, “where are you? Thomas and I made coffee for you.”

“On my way home,” she texted back in an instant, “and don’t call me ever again.”

Slammed by the harshness, Brodie just stared at his phone. “What the hell?” he muttered. When he calmed down from the shock, Brodie knew exactly what happened: Either her sister told her about the call with the lawyer, or else Cara overheard it herself.

“Hey…” he replied, his fingers shaking as he pressed the buttons.

Before he could even finish writing the text, a message popped up to alert him that his number was blocked. He audibly talked himself down from the jolt of that; not only did she desert him after their wonderful night, but they both left without even letting him know little Thomas was unattended, and he found that reprehensible.

“Don’t worry,” he said to Thomas a few moments later. “This is our time, Daddy’s and yours, and we won’t let this ruin it,” he said, inhaling deeply and wondering what he was going to do.
