Then There Was You (Twist of Fate)

“Please,” I beg, removing my hand from my slit and sliding it through his hair, pulling his mouth closer.

Nate traces a line down my collarbone with his long fingers. Down between my breasts, over my belly button and lower still until he finds the bundle of nerves between my legs. He rolls my clit between his fingers and my eyes roll back. He pinches it and I see stars explode behind my eyelids.

“Your clit’s so swollen,” he rasps, his lips still so close to mine. “I bet you’ll come as soon as I slide home.”

I groan, wrapping my legs around his hips. Nate slips a single finger inside me right down to his second knuckle making my back arch. He withdraws slowly only to slide it back in before completely withdrawing. I’m about to silently beg him but then he slips the finger that was just inside of me between his lips and sucks it clean from my juices. Nate’s eyes darken. Gone are the flecks of gold, the irises blending in with the pupil.

  I swallow hard.

Nate moves down the bed, positioning himself between my bent legs. “So beautiful,” he purrs. “So pink and wet.” Then his tongue darts out and licks up from my pussy to my clit, swirling his tongue around the bud before sucking it into his mouth. “I could eat this pussy for hours… days,” he says when he finally comes up for air after tongue-fucking me to within an inch of my life.

I’m so close to coming, I grab hold of his hair and force his face back between my legs. Nate chuckles and licks me once more before pulling back.

“And this hole,” he continues, circling a finger around my ass. “I can’t wait to fuck this hole.”

I freeze the moment his finger begins sliding in past the tight ring of muscle, but then his mouth’s back on my clit, teasing, and I relax again. His teeth scrape against the bundle of nerves and I can’t hold back anymore.

“That’s it, baby. Come on my tongue. I want to feel your juices running down my chin.”

I arch my back, pushing my head back into the pillow, and do exactly that. I come at the same time Nate pushes his tongue back into my pussy. When he’s licked me through my orgasm and my spasms have stopped, he rises to his knees and shuffles forward until his thighs brush against my bent legs. Nate takes his cock in his hand and runs the head of his shaft through my swollen lips, tapping it against my clit and sending another round of spasms through my body. I whimper when he pushes the head of his cock in, only to withdraw.

Nate continues his torturous rhythm, running his cock between my swollen lips, tapping the head on my clit before gliding it back down only to push the head of his cock in before fully withdrawing again.

“You like when I tease you, baby?”

  I grunt in frustration.

“My cock looks so good sliding through your pussy lips. I’m going to give you exactly what you want, Nika.”

Nate grips the base of his cock in his hand, lining up the head with my entrance. He slides in slowly, despite me being soaked and ready from the first orgasm he gave me.

“God, I’ll never get used to this, Nika. Your pussy feels amazing squeezing the hell outta my cock,” he rasps, bracing himself on his forearms on either side of my head. His thrusts start off slow, lazy while he licks and nips along my jaw and down my neck.

Then his hips snap faster, driving his cock into me harder. The second orgasm hits me fast and I shudder under him. Nate doesn’t stop though. His thrusts get more frantic, more demanding. He interlocks his fingers above my head, caging me within his arms as he ruts into me.

My third orgasm rushes through me and I scream from the intensity. My body pulls tight, my toes curl and I don’t relax until the last wave is gone.

The last thing I remember before passing out in a state of bliss are Nate’s words as another orgasm crashed over me and then Nate’s grunts as he comes.

  “Mine.”

  Epilogue

  11 months later

“And then there was you, baby girl,” I croon as Kinsley stares up at me with those big green eyes while she sucks on my pinky finger. I can’t help but run another finger down one of her soft, plump cheeks and admire the pouty lips that look so much like her father’s.

The journey to get here was rough with its fair share of ups and downs but as I sit, rocking her in the nursery built from love, I can’t help but think that I wouldn’t have changed a second of it. After all, if we had not gone through those rough years, she would not be here.

“Ah, there are my beautiful girls,” Nate says strolling into the room in jeans that have seen better days, his hair a mess from running his fingers through it all day, and his sweat-soaked shirt clinging to his chest. “Don’t worry,” he chuckles. “I’m about to hit the shower. Just wanted to come say that I’m home.” He leans down to press a soft kiss to her forehead before he repeats the motion to mine.

  “How’d it go?”

He shrugs. “Framing should be done in the next couple of weeks.”

Nate and a few of the other fathers at the primary school volunteered to rebuild the school gym after it caught fire a few months ago. It shook up the whole area since nobody ever expected it. Cape Town was used to its fair share of wild fires in the summer months, but this was the first time in a long time one had sparked in a city. Of course, it didn’t help that the grass was incredibly dry with it being one of the driest summers we’ve had in a while, and with no rain in the forecast, it made for perfect fire conditions. We knew the fires were going to be bad, we just never thought one would spark on the playing field of the school I spent the first part of my school age years at.

“Where’s my favourite niece?” I hear Xander call seconds after the click of the front door closing.

“She’s your only niece,” I say, rolling my eyes when he appears in the doorway behind Nate.

“Yeah, yeah,” he waves off the statement, moving farther into the room. “I need cuddles.”

I sigh, gently settling her into Xander’s waiting arms. “If you wake her up, I’ll kill you.”

He grins down at Kinsley and for the first time in years, I see genuine happiness in his smile… in his eyes. It’s like she repaired the hole Jack left behind.

“Why don’t you go relax with your husband? I’ve got the little angel,” Xander says, not looking up from Kinsley’s sleeping form cradled in his arms.

Some days, it’s still weird seeing him here, in my life. After Jack died the second time, Xander made sure to let me know, in no uncertain terms, that I was not getting rid of him. I was and will always continue to be his family. In fact, he’s the one who tried to get me to leave Jack when he started drinking more and started becoming abusive. It opened a divide between him and Jack, one I sometimes still feel guilty about, but it seems Xander never did. Feel guilty about it that is. Then after Jack’s suicide, Xander decided to just stay here in Cape Town. When Nate came back into my life, Xander took the role of older, protective brother very seriously and must have grilled Nate with a hundred questions, which Nate took in stride. I guess he understood why Xander felt the need to do that and he didn’t blame Xander.

I pause on my way out the door with a hand on the frame and glance back over my shoulder at my adoptive older brother holding his niece protectively in his arms when another pair of strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me back into a hard chest.

“She’s going to have a hell of a time dating.” I grin, leaning my head back against my husband and feeling the growl in his chest.

“She’s never dating.” I hear Xander say from the rocking chair. Nate gives an agreeable grunt and I laugh as he takes my hand and leads me to our bedroom.

  Note from the Author

Then There Was You is a story close to my heart. I was born in and grew up in Cape Town, South Africa until my parents immigrated us to Canada. However, Cape Town will always hold a special place in my heart and I wanted to write a book that captured that. Having said that, I’m sure you can guess that some of the stories in here are real. Like the snake in the closet. That really did happen! I had to grab my dad’s hand and drag him into my room and show him because my parents never believed me *shudder* I hate snakes. I also had a black and white English Bulldog named Hector. He was my childhood pet who stayed with my grandparents. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he passed away several months after we moved to Canada.

Suicide was a hard subject for me to tackle in this book. I couple of months into the start of writing TTWY, I got word that my cousin in Cape Town had committed suicide. His name was Caleb. This is a tough subject for many but one I think needs to be talked about. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. I have included a list of resources at the end of this ebook. You are not alone.
