Losing Her (The Lexington Series Book 1)

I groaned, “I know. I’m going to talk to her tonight before we leave for school. I would at least like to clear the air some, I can’t fucking lie and say I’m not missing her already.” I admitted.
Nick gave me a small smile and a nod and left. I got up to finish packing. It was about 2 hours later and I still had quite a few things left to pack when Nick and Erica came into my room.
“What’s up?” I asked.
Nick wouldn’t meet my eyes and Erica looked sad. “Landon…” Erica started.
I sighed, “spit it out. Any other time I can’t get you two to shut up.”
“Lucy left.” Nick blurted out.
My eyebrows shot up. “What do you mean she left?” I asked.
“She left early to avoid you. I insisted that she at least come speak to you guys but she refused. When Nick came to me and was talking about Lucy and you saying you were going to try working it out, I had to tell him she was already gone. As of about an hour ago.” Erica explained.
I grabbed my lamp and tossed it to the other side of the room where it shattered. I looked at Nick, “I’m done. I’m so fucking done. See what I’m talking about? She fucking ran, from both of us.”
Nick nodded sadly. He got it. She fucked up this time and she ran away from us like we were the bad guys. She didn’t even think we deserved to know, nor did she even try to get forgiveness. She didn’t fucking care enough about either of us. It looks like college is going to be a lot different than I had expected. Except this time I refuse to give her my attention after she hurt me. She doesn’t deserve it. She fucking gave up on us, like we weren’t worth fighting for. I’m starting to believe she might truly think that.
