In Rebellion (Archangel Jarahmael and the War to Conquer Heaven, Book II)

“Wasn't lord Damiel guarding the Throne Room, my lord?”
“Yes, he was, lord Beelzebael. But with all the loyal Angels having retreated to the Earth or being held captive in the lower Heavens here by our Cherubim guards, I saw no need to continue to waste another Archangel's ability just to make sure nothing happens in the Throne Room. What could possibly happen in the Throne Room that the few Cherubim guards I left in place cannot handle?” Luciferael said confidently. “The loyal Angels will be driven to their demise or capture before us and will never be able to move again up into the Heavens.”
“That may be true, my lord, but I would still leave a quarter of a legion in the upper Heavens above us, just in case some of the loyal Angels get through,” Beelzebael said, slightly worried.
“Not to worry, lord Beelzebael, we will be through the army of loyal Angels faster than you think. They are not armed properly, and two of their leaders are missing, both Michael and Ariel. I still doubt they could have escaped back to the Earth, and are probably cowering somewhere in one of the upper Heavens here. And the loyal Angels have to be afraid of us, as we have won every encounter, displacing them right out of all their Heavens and palaces.”
As Luciferael and Beelzebael moved into their positions at the head of the lead legion, three Dominion Angels approached.
The leader of the three bowed before them and spoke. “Greetings, lords Luciferael and Beelzebael. We have just returned from a scouting mission over the encampment of the loyal army at Aegyptus.”
“What did you see?” asked Luciferael.
“There are clouds moving around the planet that we had not seen before and water falling from the skies in places. Some of it as cold frozen water in the most northern and most southern regions. There are arcs of electricity that hit the Earth and destroy whatever they hit. The largest clouds create bright flashes of light and give off loud sounds that we have named lightning and thunder. We are calling the whole phenomena thunderstorms.”
“Must be a side effect of the Almighty casting out Adam and Eve,” said Luciferael. “He was controlling the weather on the planet for their benefit. He must have decided to release His controls when He cast them out.”
“Any signs of the loyal Angel armies?” Luciferael asked.
“Their legions are assembled loosely around three of the pyramids from what we could see, my lord. The largest army is around the pyramid at Aegyptus, and it looks like they are preparing for something. We stayed out of the way so they would not see us. No sentries or lookouts that we could see.”
“What about the loyal Angels around the other pyramids?”
“The pyramid in Occidentus had a small force and the one in Medius had a force larger than that in Occidentus but smaller than the one in Aegyptus.”
“Good,” said Luciferael. “Do you think if we attacked swiftly that we would surprise them?”
“Oh yes, my lord, there are large thunderstorms heading in the direction of the pyramid at Aegyptus. If we wait just a bit longer, we may be able to come out of the First Heaven and use the thunderstorm clouds as cover. That way we can surprise the largest encampment at Aegyptus.”
Luciferael dismissed the Dominions and addressed his fellow Archangels. “Here is my battle plan. I want to attack with all of your legions aiming at the pyramid at Aegyptus first. Once we overwhelm them there, we will go on to attack the encampment at Medius and then to the pyramid at Occidentus. The remainder of the pyramids won't have any effective defenders and we can deal with them at our leisure. Lord Beelzebael will accompany me at the head of this front legion. Lord Mammonael, you will come in with your legion on my right, and, lord Mephistophael, you will come in with your legion on my left.” Luciferael paused and then addressed Damiel.
“Lord Damiel, I want you to come behind the three of us, but with only half your legion, and be sure to bring along half of your Potentate Angels and keep them handy. Leave the other half of your legion and the rest of the Potentates up here in the First Heaven but still ready to come to the Earth when we have broken though the loyal Angels’ defense, or if we need them sooner.”
All the remaining Archangels of the Auxilium nodded as they were given instructions. Luciferael then asked, “Unless you have some questions, let's start getting ready for the final attack!”
None of the Archangels had any questions. Beelzebael was proud of what they had accomplished so far and he watched his brethren from the Auxilium move off quietly yet confidently. Another day's worth of fighting and they would all be in charge of the Universe.
Chapter 37
STORM CLOUDS ARISING
Cerebriel and Faumiel were startled out of their sleep by a blue flash followed by a large boom of thunder. Storm clouds were beginning to form on the Earth. Prior to the fall of Adam and Eve, the weather in the Garden of Eden and on the Earth was warm and calm. But now there was turmoil in the Universe, the Heavens and the Earth. Nothing would be the same again.
Cerebriel and Faumiel ran outside the pyramid at Occidentus, afraid that Luciferael's legions had begun a surprise attack in the middle of the night. Water droplets began to fall upon the loyal Angel's encampment around the outside of the pyramid. Rain did not affect the Angels much, as it was just a slight adjustment for their bodies, and then the water slipped right through them. The side effect of this ability was that the Angels then could not pick up or hold anything that was of solid mass or earth. But since it was night time and they were still resting, this did not create much of a problem for them. And fortunately, the weapons brought down the night before had already been placed within the pyramid for safekeeping. Otherwise it would have made for a very long night, moving those weapons under those circumstances.
Another lightning strike dropped a palm tree not far from where they were encamped and the whole effect piqued Cerebriel's interest. He had an idea of trying to develop this force as a weapon.
“Faumiel and Dubriel, come with me!” Cerebriel ordered. They followed Cerebriel as he flew up into the clouds trying to determine where this force came from. As they watched lightning strike things on the ground they could see that this could be a very powerful weapon to place in their arsenal. Arriving at the top of a very dark cloud, Cerebriel could see how the electricity was generated by the clouds rubbing together, turning the charge of the water molecules in one direction, causing not only the water vapor to condense into rain, but also the friction between clouds to build up a large electrical charge.
“Notice, Faumiel, how those clouds are rubbing against the air and one another. They are creating tension and an electrical charge.”
The clouds churned and spun around the three Cherubim, with rain falling down through the clouds. In the center of the cloud was a dark spot, where a spark began to grow and when it reached about six inches it started a chain reaction of the electrical charge. It kept expanding into a lightning bolt and headed towards an object on the ground. A thunderous boom accompanied this discharge of energy, and the item on the ground was destroyed. The three Angels took their time to observe this phenomenon, and Cerebriel eventually was able to time his flight to get to one of these sparks just as it was expanding into a lightning bolt. By grabbing this expanding energy spark, he became tied to the process and glowed blue white with the energy. He did this a few times until he could replicate the assembling of the electrical charge within the light waves that composed him as a Being of Light. With this knowledge and bodily experience, Cerebriel was able to discharge lightning bolts at will and aim them with great accuracy at objects he wanted to strike.
“Faumiel, come here!” Cerebriel called over to the other Cherubim who had been observing him experiment with this force. “I think I can duplicate these lightning bolts by using my own light energy. Let's see if we can teach you how to do this.” Cerebriel grabbed Faumiel's arm and modified his own light energy so Faumiel could feel the wavelength. “Do you feel what it’s supposed to be like?”
“Yes, my lord, I think so,”
Faumiel answered.
“All right then, why don't you try to send a lightning bolt to the ground?” It took three attempts before Faumiel was able to pull together the electrical energy and succeed.
After Faumiel had learned to produce the lightning bolt, it was not that much more difficult to learn to aim those bolts.
“Faumiel, now the question is, can you teach Dubriel how to do it?” Cerebriel asked. “Because if you can, we can spread this formidable weapon and make it available to all of our loyal Angels if need be.”
Faumiel grabbed Dubriel’s hand and let the wavelength of his own energy pass along into his body for him to copy.
After a few minutes and a number of failed attempts, Dubriel was able to duplicate this energy force and use it as a weapon.
Now it was time to see if they could create lightning bolts in an atmosphere that was not in or close to a storm system. Flying out of the clouds, Cerebriel, Faumiel, and Dubriel flew a great distance to an island that was away from the storm clouds. To their delight, they found they were able to spontaneously generate these lightning bolts at that place as well. It all came from the ability to manipulate their own light wave energy. With more practice, they found they could explode trees, rocks and mounds of earth easily. They did not want to harm one another so they refrained from aiming lightning bolts at one another. But they were very interested to see what the effect a concentrated lightning bolt could have as a direct hit on a Being of Light, if it was used as a weapon. That experiment would have to wait until they were under attack and had to use it to protect themselves.
As they headed back to the pyramid at Occidentus, Cerebriel thought to himself that these weapons would come in handy when Luciferael's next attack came. The rebel Angels would be in for quite a surprise!
Chapter 38
HIDDEN THINGS
Jarahmael had explained his plan to his colleagues outside the pyramid at Aegyptus. Each of them knew what to do once Luciferael's attack on the Earth began. He hoped that their counterattack would surprise Luciferael’s forces and cause them to be overwhelmed and disorganized. It was a long shot. The rebel Angels had not been defeated yet, but Jarahmael and his other Archangels knew that they had to win this battle, otherwise the war was lost.
Jarahmael felt for the two Books he still had hidden under his tunic. Now he had to find a place to hide them. If they fell into the wrong hands, the Books could be used against the loyal army or anything else in the Almighty’s Creation for that matter. As he pondered what to do with them, he realized that the answer may be looking right back at him. From his vantage point near the pyramid at Aegyptus, he saw the two sphinxes staring back at him with cold eyes of stone. They were modeled on two faces of his two good friends, Cerebriel of the Cherubim and Annabael of the Principalities. What better place to hide these documents than right in the Sphinxes themselves? It was a simple answer: he could hide the Book of Creation in the one Sphinx and then the Book of Life in the other.
Slipping away from the members of the loyal army as though he was going for a walk, he went alone to the entrance of the male Sphinx and ducked into the passageway that went beneath it. Once inside he followed the hallways and found one about halfway down heading towards the large chamber deep at the end of the Sphinx. He entered a smaller room off to the side of the chamber, and tapped along the wall until he heard an area with a hollow echo. Taking out his light sword he carefully removed one of the large bricks, and found some space behind it. He reached behind and pulled out the coverless Book of Creation. As he was lifting it to place it through the hole in the wall, the Book slipped out of his fingers and it fell to the ground, landing at an awkward angle. As Jarahmael bent over to lift the Book back up, he noticed that it had opened to one of the chapters at the end of the Book, one that appeared to never have been opened before. Glancing at the page as he lifted it up, he saw that the chapter was about the Throne itself.
The Throne of Heaven, as it was called in the Book, was designed to be the main seat of power over the Heavens and this Universe. The Almighty had bestowed immeasurable power to the Throne itself. It was the main reason that the two Books were stored within the Throne. The three items were matched and complementary in power to one another.
Jarahmael just wanted to hide the Books and get back to the other Angels before he was missed and was going to place the Book in its hiding spot. As he thought about it, he realized that not only would the Books give Luciferael sufficient knowledge to control the Heavens and the Earth as he originally feared, but he would be able to have the same power if he controlled and sat upon the Throne. He may not have all of the knowledge contained in the Books, but he would have sufficient power to control the Universe. Perhaps this is why the Almighty had Luciferael conduct the morning ceremony in His absence from the position of being seated on the Throne.
Jarahmael felt a sinking feeling, concerned now that seizing the Books and hiding them would not prevent Luciferael from controlling the Heavens and the Earth. All Luciferael had to do was to sit upon the Throne and his power would grow beyond measure. Had Jarahmael known that when he was up in the Seventh Heaven, he would have found a way to remove the Throne itself. Now it was too late. Even more frightening was the fact that Luciferael was still in the upper Heavens without any opposition at the moment. Apparently, the Almighty had not let Luciferael know the details about the Throne, or this war would already be over.
As Jarahmael lifted the Book up to place it in the gap behind the wall, he thought to himself how dangerous the information in this Book could be in the wrong hands. He assumed that the Book of Life had some dangerous secrets as well, and he resolved himself to keep these Books safe from other eyes. He placed the Book behind the wall and reinserted the block and stepped back to make sure that he left no sign that the wall had been disturbed.
With the Book of Creation successfully hidden, he stuck his head out the entrance to make sure no one had been watching him. Seeing that the coast was clear, he went to the entrance of the female Sphinx and entered. He followed the hallway down in this Sphinx and found a similar chamber in the same location, deep at the end. Removing another block and clearing out additional space, he was able to hide the second Book here. Again, he carefully removed any evidence that he had been in the Sphinx and tampered with any of the blocks. He was thankful that he had not seen anything in this Book that would have caused him further worry. There were no guarantee that these Books would not be found, but he knew he did a good job covering over his tracks. At least for now the Books were safe. It was a relief that if he was captured in the fighting that was expected, Luciferael would not get his hands on the Books.
Michael and the other Archangels were finishing off their preparations to implement Jarahmael’s plan in anticipation of the attack they knew was coming. Outside the weather was changing, storms were brewing as the skies darkened. Michael had seen some of the storms that happened on the other planets and these storms had a lot of pent up energy. He knew the Almighty had kept the Earth’s weather controlled to keep a perfect atmosphere for his Simians and Humans to live and grow. Even though the Earth was not as much of a paradise as the Garden of Eden, it had been a controlled and mild environment. Now that the forces of nature were released once again, the storms could be particularly harsh.
Uriel and Gabriel had been dispatched through the pyramids to advise the Angels at Occidentus and Medius of Jarahmael's plan. Jarahmael appointed himself for a mission in the upcoming battle. He assembled a small contingent of Cherubim to bring with him, armed with laser cutters and other tools from the pyramid construction sites. They joined him as he entered the pyramid in Aegyptus and used its portal to return to the pyramid in the Garden of Eden. Jarahmael needed these Cherubim as reinforcements for the pyramid in the Garden of Eden and wanted to make sure that they would be fully prepared to assist him in his plan. He had also made sure that the Cherubim brought some additional weapons along with them for Raziel and the others.
&n
bsp; When Jarahmael and his contingent arrived in the pyramid in Eden, Raziel and Gaardrael greeted them. They were happy to see him return with reinforcements and weapons as promised. Now all the Angels of the small force hidden within the pyramid had a better chance and were armed even if it wasn't with the best weapons. But they would have something better than the best weapons: they would have the element of surprise.
Chapter 39
A SURPRISE
Luciferael led Beelzebael's legion at the head of the rebel forces out of the First Heaven into the skies over the Earth. Exactly as the Dominion Angel scout had predicted, storm clouds were moving through, blocking Luciferael's view of the pyramid over at Aegyptus. Luciferael was not upset at his lack of being able to see below, because it also meant that the loyal Angels below him could not see him maneuvering above them. But Luciferael was not taking any chances, so he personally was out in front checking out the skies ahead of the legions. Once he was positioned in a good vantage point, he motioned for Beelzebael to come and meet with him where they hovered over the cloud cover.
“Let's move the three legions over there on the top of those storm clouds. Send a messenger back to both lord Mammonael and lord Mephistophael to join us.” Luciferael then pointed to the darkest area over the clouds. “We will form a battle line first up there, before we advance down to the pyramid. Send another messenger to lord Damiel to take his half legion and place themselves over on those clouds on the right in the east. I want him to be in position to cut off any stragglers or retreating loyal Angels. Send those three Dominion scouts to look under the cloud cover and let me know the positions of the loyal Angels down there.”
Beelzebael acknowledged his orders and returned to his legion. A few minutes later the three legions headed to the top of the storm clouds and began to position themselves into an attack line. Cherubim armed with spears and swords in the front, Virtues with harps immediately behind them, Dominions and Principalities with hammers, axes and swords following up behind and a few select Potentates brought up the rear.
