In my head, I fabricate excuses why I can’t go. But officially, he’s still my client. And at the moment, he’s probably the closest thing I have to a friend.
- Well… Ok. It’s a deal.
- Great. I’ll tell you when and where I’ll be waiting for you. Bye, Mark.
- Bye, Greg.
I’m trying to clean myself up. I shave the ginger hairs sticking from a part of my neck and cheeks. I manage to cut myself twice. There are still visible traces of blood on my pale face. My skin is dry and yellowish, with two dark circles under my eyes. I haven’t had a haircut in a while, so my hair’s grown into a wild mess over my ears and forehead. I look like crap.

I meet Greg at the restaurant around eight. He’s already waiting from me at the table in the booth. He’s wearing a bluish metallic suit, matching the color of his hair. He looks impeccable and fresh. His face is nicely tanned, smooth, and shiny. He gives me a broad smile when he sees me, and his eyes get lost in thin lines. Smiling like that, he reminds me of Richard Gere.
- Jesus, Mark. You look like crap. – he says cheerfully, but gets serious instantly. – I’m sorry.
- That’s ok. I’m aware of that. – I smile loudly in order to break the tension.
- I’m guessing it’s not a virus?
- No, it’s not.
- But it is some kind of parasite? The bloodsucking kind? The first letter’s B? – he smiles.
I like Greg’s shrewdness.
- It is. – I smile back.
- The guys at your firm wouldn’t let me in on the details. They’re good. Discreet.
- They know that our relationship is not of the strictly client-agent kind.
- But I’ve got other ways of finding out what’s going on.
The waiter brings us some wine.
- I hope you don’t mind, I’ve already ordered us some Cabernet Sauvignon. Californian. I’m a patriotic mood tonight.
- Napa or Sonoma?
- Wow. We’ve got a connoisseur at the table. – he laughs loudly. – Sonoma. I had the chance to try it on my trip. It’s like a piece of heaven on the palate.
- I’m sure it is. – I raise my glass.
In the meantime, we have successfully tackled the appetizers and have continued our conversation over a steak in honey marinade and cranberry sauce, sipping red wine from the same region. Greg suggested we don’t ruin the continuity.
- What did you do in California? – I ask Greg.
- I had to deal with some urgent matters.
- Business or pleasure?
- Private stuff. There was some of the latter as well, I guess.
- Have you been having the problem again?
- No, no. Everything’s fine.
- Did you go see the therapist?
- Yeah, sure. I see him once a week. He’s recommended me the exercises.
- And?
- Well... Honestly, I thought that you were messing with me when you told me all that. But it seems that they really do the trick.
- Really? Well, that’s nice to hear.
- Kiara’s already noticed some positive changes. – he whispers and then laughs loudly again.
I toast to him. He orders another glass of wine.
- But enough about me. What the hell does that Bryan guy want from you?
- I don’t know. I have the feeling that he wants to destroy my life. I mean… how much of a coincidence it is that he starts working at ThinkBean?
- I think you’re being overly paranoid. Life is a joker. It often arranges impossible and bizarre coincidences just to keep people looking over their shoulders all the time.
- It somehow feels like too much of a coincidence. What if the guy was actually systematically searching for me all these years?
- Mark, you’re overreacting, really.
- No, I’m really freaking out. That someone can be ready to do something like that. That someone is that crazy.
- Crazy? That he most certainly is. But I think that the fact that he came to work at ThinkBean is a coincidence. But then he saw you and the psychosis kicked in. Are you sure you didn’t kill his dog, set his house on fire, or something like that?
- God, no. I never even chose to be friends with him. He showed up on his own. Unannounced. And then started sucking my blood like a leech.
- Yeah. That’s the worst kind.
- I mean, Greg, you don’t know what he was like back then. So cruel, emotionless. The way he did all those things, and then made it look like it was all my fault, without a single ounce of guilt. And every day he would show up again like nothing happened. Like he was writing a new page of the book “Let’s fuck up Mark” every single day, and that book would always have another 365 empty pages the next day. No, it’s too fucked up to be a coincidence.
Greg is silently looking at me over the rim of his glass.
- I was probably his favorite victim. The naïve Mr. Nice Guy he couldn’t give up on that easily. Somehow he found out where I live. And decided to find me.
- Maybe that theory of yours isn’t all that silly.
I look at Greg. He’s still holding his glass in the air. But he’s not looking at me, he’s looking over my shoulder. At the entrance door. He seems worried when he looks back at me.
- Buckle up. – he says quietly.
- Good evening, gentleman. – Bryan’s voice above my head gives me the creeps.
- Mr. Aldridge. – Greg nods courteously.
- Enjoying your dinner? Isn’t that nice.
- Would you… Like to join us? – asks Greg with a tiny pause which is an equally courteous way to tell Bryan to fuck off.
- No, thank you. I’m waiting for my fiancé. She should be here any second.
I still don’t want to look at him, nor speak to him at any point.
- Ah, here she is. Darling. Please, come here.
For a moment, his silhouette vanishes, only to reappear instantly with another one, and my peripheral sight catches only a glimpse of the whitish glint of the dress.
- Darling, let me introduce you to the famous Greg Kolba and my colleague…
- Mark? – I hear her voice.
I can’t believe it. I turn around slowly and see her standing next to me. Her full lips in the shape of an irresistible smile. Her hair is straight and lighter. Tight white dress outlines her every curve. She’s changed. She’s more beautiful than ever. But her eyes are still the same. The color of the muddy Mississippi.
- Valerie?
- Mark. – she hugs me. – I can’t believe it.
Our moment is interrupted by Bryan, who sounds slightly upset.
- You two know each other?
- Yeah. – she responds. – We’re… Old friends.
- Yeah. – I concur and swallow a lump.
I turn to Kolba.
- This is Valerie.
- My fiancé. – Bryan interrupts me.
- Pleased to meet you. Mr. Aldridge has certainly got good taste. At least when it comes to women.
Dammit, Greg.
- Thank you. – says Valerie and turns to me. – And it was really nice to see you again, Mark.
- You, too. – I can barely utter, with a sour smile on my face.
- Enjoy your dinner, gentleman. – says Bryan, wearing a veneer of politeness, and takes her by the hand.
I watch her as they walk away from our table. She’s swaying her hips and flipping her hair behind her ear. She’s smiling at Bryan, the way she used to smile at me.
- A friend? – Greg rouses me from my thoughts.
I sigh heavily.
- That’s my ex. The woman I was going to marry.
- Ouch... Shit just got real.
Greg asks the waiter to bring the check. Then he takes a piece of paper from the inside pocket of his jacket. He offers it to me across the table.
It’s the therapist’s business card. The one I gave him.
- Take it. It seems that you’ll be needing it again.

Important!
Warm ups are very important. Never start workouts without being properly warmed up. Warm up promotes blood flow, enlarges and softens penis tissue and prevents injuries.
For the first weeks you will need at least 5 minutes for proper warm up.
During later stages, warm ups may take less time eventually, but we suggest that you should always spend 5 minutes for warming up.
There are two best ways to warm up:
1.Warm towel/washcloth
Take a washcloth or towel and soak it in warm water. Water shouldn’t be either too hot because of possible burns, or too cold because warm up won’t be effective.
Get rid of water excess by wringing the towel and wrap it around your penis leaving it there for a minute or so. When towel starts cooling down, soak it again, and repeat the process.
2. Rice sock
Take clean cotton sock, fill it with uncooked rice. Don’t pack it tightly; leave some room for rice to move around. Tie the open end of the sock with ribbon or string, or simply use the longer sock and tie it around itself. Put the filled sock in a microwave for approximately 1 minute. Apply it to the penis for 5 minutes.
Instead of rice you may use flax seeds for longer heating effect.
1. One-Minute Stretch
This exercise is real time saver. You can perform it whenever you have free time. And it lasts only 1 minute.
It’s basically a stretching exercise with altered strokes.
1. You need to be flaccid.
2. Make an OK grip with your dominant hand.
3. Place the grip on the shaft just below penis head.
4. Stretch your penis outwards slightly. Don’t pull too hard.Your penis shaft needs to be stretched but relaxed.
5. Now, pull the stretch harder. You should feel stretch, not the pain. Hold for 2 seconds.
6. Relax the hold, like in Step 4. Hold for 2 seconds.
7. Repeat Step 5.
This makes one repetition. Make 15 repetitions in 1 minute.
This exercise could be used outside routine. You can use it in the morning, under shower, before bed, on the toilet, etc. Whenever you have free time.
2. Kegel Exercises (PC Muscle Workout)
While warming up you can save time by continuously doing the Kegel exercises, also known as PC contraction workouts.
Locating PC muscle:
Tense your PC muscle, hold it and then let go.
Example on how to use Kegels:
While warming up:
9 reps - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 1 second and then let go.
1 rep - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 2 seconds and then let go.
Make 1 minute break before another set.
9 reps - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 1 second and then let go.
1 rep - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 2 seconds and then let go.
Make 1 minute break before another set.
9 reps - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 1 second and then let go.
1 rep - Tense your PC muscle, hold it for 2 seconds and then let go.
You can also do PC muscle workouts independently each day, for example while you watching TV, browsing, showering, sitting in the car, etc.
During the first few weeks you should try to do about 5 sets of 20 reps/contractions per day or 100 contractions daily, having 1 minute break between sets.
3. Corkscrew Stretches
The goal of this exercise is to increase both length and girth by twisting and stretching the shaft of your penis in the same time. These twists and stretches expand the penis tissue, allowing more blood to come in. This results in bigger penis, as well as better and stronger erections.
1. Your penis needs to be almost completely flaccid.
2. Make an OK sign with your dominant hand (the hand you write with). Grip your penis mid-shaft. Use an overhand grip, so the palm of your hand is pointing towards the floor.
3. Now twist your penis shaft. Use your thumb and index finger, grip and rotate the shaft and head 180º to the right (assuming you’re right handed). Back of your glans (head) should be pointing upwards. In other words, you should see your “banjo string” when you make a twist, and your shaft should look like corkscrew, hence the name of the exercise.
4. Holding the twist, stretch your penis outwards.
5. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds and then release, letting your penis hang naturally. This is 1 repetition.
6. Repeat the exercise (grip, twist and stretch).
4. V Stretches
V Stretches are an effective way of stretching the different sections of the penis shaft.
1. Your penis shouldn’t be completely flaccid. You should have about a 20% erection.
2. Close all four of your fingers and outstretch your thumb of your left hand.
3. The palm of your left hand should face downwards and your thumb should point right. Your thumb and index finger will form an 'L' shape. It will be used to provide the pivot to tug on.
4. Now, make an OK grip using your right hand's index finger and thumb and place it on your shaft just below the head. Hold the grip tightly.
5. Stretch the shaft outwards.
6. While holding this stretch, use the L shape made with your left hand to grip the base of your penis. Squeeze your thumb towards your index finger to create a pinch hold.
7. With your right hand, bend the top half of your penis stretching it over your left thumb, so it faces your stomach.
8. In the same time while doing 7. gently push the shaft downwards with your left thumb, opposite of the push you make with your right hand
9. Hold this for 5 seconds, keeping the stretch and push throughout. This would be one repetition.
10. You may also work on different sections of the shaft. To do this, simply move your left thumb. For example, for the first rep place your left hand grip on the penis base, for the second rep move it up to the middle of the shaft and finally for the third rep move the left hand grip close to right hand below the penis head. Each repetition should last 5 secs.
Important!
Warming down after an exercise is just like the warming up. It should be done at the end of every workout helping the penis to recover, promoting blood flow and growth, and also preventing any potential injuries.
You could use warm towel/cloth wrapping it around penis for 5 minutes, or holding warm rice sock instead.
While holding warm towel or rice sock, massage your penis gently but firmly to promote blood flow.
