Several floors down, Nick cradled his son, smiling down at his brand new face. Kate sat up in bed and smiled at her husband and their baby. Vivienne, Grace, Andrew, and James had gone down to grab lunch. Grace and Vivienne had been there almost the entire night before and then went home for a quick rest. They came back for visiting hours the day after Gregory was born.

Nick had never left Kate’s side.

“He’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, Katie.” Nick said, his voice thick with love. He stood up and walked over, sat down on the bed, and handed her their son.

“I know,” she smiled, her face glowing, “it’s the most incredible thing, isn’t it?”

Nick nodded, “It’s beyond anything I could have anticipated, really.” He kissed her forehead and Gregory Allan gave a small yawn, which made Kate giggle.

Just then, Ruth Ann walked in with a broad smile on her face, minus Mac’s gifts. She’d taken the balloons and bear and given them to another young mother who she’d observed was in a pretty bare room. “A little something to welcome your little one,” Ruth Ann had smiled to the surprised young girl.

“Is this where I can meet the new fella? I even dressed the part!” Ruth Ann smiled, holding out her arms, and Kate laughed. Polyester, of course, and in baby boy blue, nonetheless.

Nick walked over to her, “Ruth Ann, good to see you.”

She pecked his cheek and said, “You’re such a handsome fella, Nick. I bet that boy is gonna be a heartbreaker.” Kate smiled as Ruth Ann walked over.

Kate lifted her arms so Ruth Ann could take the baby. “Well, well, Gregory Allan, it’s nice to meet you.”

Grace, Vivienne, James, and Andrew walked in then, and Andrew said, “Ruthie, baby!” He flung his arms out and gave her and the baby a gentle hug.

“Did you just get here?” he asked.

Ruth Ann nodded, “I did. I can’t stay long, but I had to see the little one.”

“My nephew is perfect,” Vivienne smiled a broad, proud smile. She had a lot to be happy about. She had a new family member, the movie option had gone through, and The Summer We Died was in pre-production.

Grace walked over to Kate, “I know you need to head back to California soon, but you should know that I will visit all the time and miss you horribly when you’re not here.”

Kate reached up and hugged her friend. “I’m going to burn up those miles,” she said softly.

As Gregory Allan was handed from Ruth Ann to his Aunt Vivienne, both Kate and Nick looked at each and realized that for all of the hard times and heartbreak, every single tear had been worth this moment and all of the moments that would certainly follow.

And from somewhere beyond the thin veil of life, from a place no one could touch or see, Allan Lavigne watched them, smiling.

  THANK YOU!

  My Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed this second half of Climax and the happy ending for Kate and Nick! It’s been a hard road for these characters and I so appreciate all of you who stuck with this story through the three books it took to tell it.

When the book first came out I got so many letters from fans thanking me. Some had an opinion about Mac and Kate, while others rooted for Nick. As an author, I love feedback. So, tell me what you liked, what you loved, even what you hated. I’d love to hear from you. You can write me a authorchristinageorge@gmail.com and visit me on the web at www.thepublicistnovel.com.

Finally, I need to ask a favor. If you’re so inclined I’d love a review of Climax: The Publicist Book Three – part 2. Loved it, hated it - I’d just enjoy your feedback. As you may have gleaned from my books, reviews can be tough to come by these days. You, the reader, have the power now to make or break a book. If you have the time, here’s a link to the book on Amazon: http://bit.ly/ClimaxPartTwo

I have to tell you, I really love these characters. And I’m thrilled so many readers wrote after reading book one and two: “What’s next for Mac, Kate, and Nick?” So are you #TeamMac or #TeamNick? I’ve love to know and stay tuned because the saga of publishing drama isn’t quite over. My next book will focus on more characters from the book, including Vivienne!

Thank you so much for reading The Publicist and for spending time with me.

  In gratitude,

  Christina George
