“I’m going to take a bath, instead.” She flashed him a huge smile and disappeared into the loo. “I’m so tired of standing. My feet hurt.”

Emerson shook his head. Sharing a room with Olivia would definitely test his resolve. His clothes were still damp, so he switched his outfit for one of the plush robes and situated the pillows on the bed so he could sit upright.

As water flowed from the tap in the bathroom, he imagined a tempting cascade over Olivia’s back, between her gorgeous round butt cheeks, and down her firm legs. His cock hardened, and he reached inside his robe and stroked his rock-solid erection. He groaned.

Yes, only the worst sort of cad would masturbate with her in such close proximity, but he couldn’t get the sexy images of her out of his head. Driven by the urge to fuck her into oblivion, he closed his eyes and envisioned himself squatted between her legs, with his hands gripping her calves. Slowly he caressed her legs, moving ever nearer to her pussy. As he massaged her upper thighs, she sucked in a breath.

He gripped himself tighter and increased his pace.

In his fantasy, he found her feminine folds, slipped two fingers inside her, and discovered her wet and warm. He withdrew and then entered her again, and she gasped and thrust her hips, taking him deeper.

His orgasm built as he quickened his rhythmic stroking.

Her back arched as she pressed him into her, and he teased her clit with his thumb. Upon contact she flattened her chest against the tile and spread her legs wider for him. The lips of her pussy swelled, as he massaged her, inside and out, and she moaned from his handiwork.

  He was close.

He slid a third finger into her and flicked her clit. She screamed, and her muscles tensed, and she came, bathing his skin in telltale juices.

Her pleasure turned him on even more, and he stroked himself faster, surrendering to a powerful orgasm. “Ah…oh. Yeah.” At last, he released his grip and relaxed. Sinking into the pillows, he drifted to sleep.

Emerson awoke with a jolt and looked around to get his bearings. To his relief, his robe lay open, and his willy hung limp between his legs. And then he recalled he had a roommate, and he glanced at the second bed, which remained unoccupied and still made.

Bloody hell. Had Olivia exited the bathroom and discovered him like that? He quickly covered himself, and then he raked his fingers through his hair and swung his legs over the side of the bed. How could he have been so stupid? She must have thought him a wanker, or worse, a degenerate.

A glance at the clock told him that he’d been asleep for about an hour. He grabbed a pillow from behind him and threw it across the room with force. How could he have let that happen? Olivia had rendered him defenseless against his desires and he’d blown it. Literally.

  “Olivia, are you there?”

No response. Had she fled to the lobby, seeking refuge? Given they were snowed in, where else could she have gone? He had to find her, explain himself, and apologize. Yeah, how would that go? You see, I was imaging you naked and-- Well, he’d think of something.

He stood, and sticky semen all but glued the robe to his leg. “Ugh.” He peeled off the fluffy garment, threw it on the floor, and then burst into the bathroom to rinse off.

Olivia worked her way out of the black dress and left it in a heap on the bathroom floor with her thong. She slipped into the hot water. As the warmth enveloped her, she relaxed. She folded a hand towel and positioned it under her neck so she could immerse as much of her body in the water as possible.

The combination of the cocktails and exhaustion lowered her mind’s defenses, and her imagination wandered. Lying on top of Emerson in the snow, she’d been curiously aroused. The smell of him, sweaty from carrying her, turned her on. When her lips accidentally landed on his earlobe, she’d exercised restraint not to give him a little nibble.

What would he have done had she taken his soft flesh into her mouth and suckled? Would he have been offended? Or would he have slid his hands under her dress, moved aside her panties and teased her clit. Or more risqué slipped a finger inside her. Lost in the moment, she shifted in the tub.

“Naw,” she said out loud to herself and laughed. He was a gentleman. He never would’ve done that. She sighed, disappointed.

She pulled one foot to the opposite thigh and rubbed her toes. They had been tingling as she and Emerson made their way through the storm, but now they were back to their normal pinkness and full of feeling. For that she was grateful. Had Emerson not carried her, she’d likely have suffered a nasty case of frostbite.

She switched feet and pressed her thumbs deep into the ball of her foot, enjoying the intensity of the self-massage. When the tension in her big toe released, she leaned back again. Her eyes fluttered shut.

She was immediately on the deck of the old ship. Alone.

Wind howled. Rain pelted her. Her hair whipped into her face.

Waves crashed, and she held tight to a line to avoid being thrown overboard.

  She shivered from the cold.

The boat rose and fell with the angry ocean.

Rising and falling. Rising and falling.

  Rain. Crashing waves. Wind.

Rising and falling. She held on tighter.

More rain. Higher waves. More wind.

Salty wetness blew into her face. She spit out the icy seawater.

She coughed and woke, realizing she’d slid so far down in the tub that water had flowed into her mouth.

The bath had become lukewarm, but it felt too good to get out, so she drained some of the water, then turned the hot faucet on high, and savored the warmth that crawled up her legs.

Her mind returned to the dream. She hadn’t been on the boat in previous dreams, so maybe something new had been revealed. Revisiting the vision, the only difference had been her presence in the scene, instead of viewing it as a bystander. And nothing else changed. It was like the movie Groundhog Day. The same three minutes played over and over.

It bothered her that the image the brooch gave her was no help whatsoever in her quest for love--unless she was supposed to marry a pirate. Now that would be an interesting life twist.

She turned off the faucet when the water seeped through the safety drain. She repositioned her towel pillow to keep her head above the water, should she fall asleep again, and her thoughts once again centered on Emerson.

Dinner with him had been light and fun. Despite the fact they were both ravenous and all talking had ceased when the food arrived, the conversation beforehand had entertained her. She’d learned that Emerson played both the piano and football--English football, not the American version, and that he was quite close to his “Mum.”

Even more interesting though, his last girlfriend was a high-maintenance B-list actress, well known to Olivia’s Hollywood crowd for giving OCD-like orders. Rumor had it that she insisted on chilled glasses, slices of lime, lemon, and blood oranges, with her Pellegrino. The story Olivia had heard was that Camille had thrown a plate of fruit at an intern, on the Ellen show, because the poor kid had used regular oranges. Emerson must have possessed immense patience to put up with a woman like that—or he had been star stuck.

Olivia had not shared any boyfriend information with Emerson. She felt a pang of guilt. Technically, she had a boyfriend. Why hadn’t she wanted to tell him?

Because she wanted to jump him…that’s why.

She giggled to herself. It was true. Travis cavorted with four buxom blondes. Wasn’t she entitled to some fun too?

The thought stopped her a bit short, even in her hazy state. Had she believed Travis would cheat on her? Surely he wouldn’t send her photos if he were sleeping with one, or all, of the blonde bimbos. Or would he? It bothered her that she wasn’t sure.

Her eyelids heavy, she let slumber take her again.

Emerson entered the bathroom and slid open the shower curtain.

He was 100% au naturel. And looked mighty fine.

Their eyes met. She smiled. />
He bent over, pulled the stopper out of the tub and lifted her into his arms. “I’ve been wanting to do this to you since I first laid eyes on you.”

She allowed herself to go limp in his embrace. “What have you been waiting for?”

He laughed. “Would you have preferred I took you in the elevator, in front of your Mother?”

  “Eww, no!”

“Or how about if I bent you over the belt and gave it to you in the security line?” He smirked and exited the bathroom.

“Yuck! People put their shoes on there.” She wrapped her arm around his neck.

“Then perhaps you would’ve like to join the Mile High Club with me?” He gently tossed her onto the bed.

“I might’ve gone for that.” She seductively spread her legs a little.

He took the hint, grabbed her ankles and opened her legs fully. “Really? Wish I’d have known that.”

She giggled. “And I thought you were a gentleman.”

He straddled her, pinned her arms above her head. “Oh, I bet you would’ve liked to have crawled on top of me in the cab.”

“Not! Cabs are filthy.” She squirmed, but he held her firm.

“Up against the glass window in the building entry way?”

“No.” Now he was just being silly. “Given the cold, my ass probably would’ve stuck to the window.”

He slid his body down on hers. “True.”

“Maybe you’d prefer the couches in the lobby? I bet the check-in clerk likes to watch.”

“Gross.” She nuzzled her head into his neck. “But I bet you’re right.”

“Should I have taken you in the tub?” He kissed her forehead, then her cheek, and then her neck.

  She laughed. “This is good.”

He looked her in the eye. “You’re beautiful.”

She smiled and parted her lips, inviting him to kiss her.

He cupped her head in one hand and touched his lips to hers. Electricity coursed through her. She pressed against him and ran her hand down his chest, across his stomach, and wrapped her fingers around his now fully erect cock.

He moaned, kissed her harder, and slipped his tongue into her mouth as he caressed her nipple.

While she enjoyed him playing with her breasts, she longed to feel him inside her. She arched her back to press her hips into his crotch. He shifted to the side, moved his hand between her legs, and massaged her, but it wasn’t enough.

“You are driving me crazy. I want you.” She kissed him back passionately, tangled her tongue with his.

He thrust a finger into her moistness. She gasped. “Yes.”

“Mmm, you like that.” His hand found a rhythm, and she rocked her hips in time, moaning as he brought her closer to the edge.

She stroked him. He grunted when she hit a certain place. She stayed in that spot and gently tugged upward. His legs and stomach tensed.

He changed his tactic, sliding two fingers into her. He opened his fingers and spread her. The sensation overpowered her, and her orgasm crashed in waves. She fought to concentrate so she could bring him to the same pleasure.

He pushed her hand away, stuck his tongue deeper into her mouth and used her climax juices to rub himself. She could do nothing but melt into him.

“Olivia, are you there?” said a faraway voice. Oh shit! Had Travis caught her? No, it wasn’t his voice. She strained to hear. Nothing. Her paranoia caused her to imagine the interruption. Travis was a zillion miles away in Maui.

She relaxed into Emerson’s arms, as he gasped, and his impressive orgasm erupted onto her belly.

  Chapter 5

It took Olivia a moment to register that a fully naked Emerson had slid open the shower curtain and stood in all his gorgeousness before her. For real.

She drank in his milky white skin, the cut of his arm and thigh muscles, and, of course, the blessing of an ample package between his legs that had both girth and the defined “helmet” on the tip she loved. Black hair spiraled in just the right amount above it. She caught herself smiling.

On her second full body trip up and down his physique, their eyes met. Within his brilliantly blue orbs, a longing burned.

Her breath caught in her throat and she smiled wider.

He matched her facial expression while holding her gaze.

Olivia realized that while she stared unforgivingly at him, he admired her nakedness as well.

She broke eye contact to view herself. First stop, hard nipples. No doubt the result of ogling Emerson and sitting in cold tub water. Second stop, her un-groomed pubic region. She cringed. Because of the craziness of the last week, she’d taken quick showers and had skipped shaving areas that wouldn’t be seen until she’d arrived in Hawaii. How embarrassing. But he was European, so perhaps he hadn’t found her wild looking bush unattractive. Third stop, shriveled fingers and toes. How long had she been sitting in the water?

A sudden self-consciousness stirred in her. She grabbed the shower curtain, intent to pull it across the tub and block his view.

Emerson held the fabric in place. “You’re beautiful.”

Telltale warmth signaled the blood rushing into Olivia’s cheeks. “Thank you.” She tugged unsuccessfully on the shower curtain again.

“Why do you want to hide from me? There’s obviously something between us.” Those oceanic lusty eyes bore into her.

She shifted uneasily in the chilly water. She couldn’t deny his statement. There was something between them—something she’d like to explore. But she had a boyfriend—or had she?

She had to admit that Travis’ frolicking with the Swedish bikini team was indicative of the type of relationship they had. She wasn’t sure how she hadn’t seen it until now. She and Travis had a relationship of convenience, not just for him, but for her as well. She had not wanted to see him several times over the past year and had known she could always use work as an excuse he’d respect and she was sure he’d done the same. He’d certainly played that card whenever she’d needed him in a crisis.

Also, Travis had never invited her to be vulnerable with him, nor had she offered. In fact, everything with them took place on the surface. Their relationship could be categorized in three words: fun, playful and attractive—as in it looked good.

“There is. You are right. There very much is.” She dropped her head into her hands feeling the full effect of her two realizations. She had rampant desirous feelings for Emerson and with Travis she’d completely allowed herself to fall into having the classic Hollywood superficial emotionless relationship while lying to herself that it was more than that. Ug.

Emerson raised his eyebrows. “So, why not take a chance?”

She gulped and tilted her chin up to make eye contact. He had a point. Why not take a chance? Fear rose in her. Because being stranded in a hotel together when they lived half the world away from each another wasn’t a recipe for a long-term love affair and she wasn’t a one-night stand girl. “Because I barely know you.”

“Don’t make this complicated.” He huffed. “I really like you. I’d like to try something more, with you, which might sounds crazy because yes we just met, but if you don’t want to I’ll respect that. He let go of the shower curtain. “I told you I didn’t invite you to share my room because I expected anything and that still stands.”

Her heart sang. He wanted something more—with her. With the kind of man she really wanted to be with standing literally right in front of her, offering her exactly what her body wanted while also demanding openness, she had a decision to make. Settle for a life of shallow connection with Travis, or take a chance to be in something real with someone deep. The choice was obvious.

Her heart raced. “OK.” She flipped the plug with her toe to let the water drain. “But I have to tell you something first.”

“You only date stars?” He tossed the bathmat on the floor.

She huffed. “No. I never date stars. They are too high maintenance.”

“You married?” He pulled a towe
l off the rod.

“No.” How many more questions was he going to ask her?

He helped her out of the tub and swathed her in the bath sheet. “Then what do I absolutely have to know before you let me kiss you?”

Excitement shot through her body at the mention of a kiss from him, but inwardly she frowned. She wanted to blurt, I have a boyfriend, but those words would not pass her lips for fear he’d revert to the gentleman she had come to know and see her as off-limits. And she wouldn’t have a boyfriend any longer once she’d broken up with Travis, so instead she said, “I cannot have this conversation with you--with both of us--naked and wet.”

“OK. I’ll get you a robe.” He turned and left the bathroom.

His backside offered the same visual reward as the front--strong back muscles and perky buttocks Olivia could imagine sinking her teeth into during the throes of passion.

She took her time drying herself so she could contemplate how to handle the situation. He was hot. She was attracted to him. She was in a relationship with another man. She concluded that if she had cut Travis lose when he’d decided not to join her in New York, she’d be in the other room having her way with Emerson—many ways actually--but because she honored her commitments, she’d need to break up with Travis before she’d sheet dance with Emerson. But she couldn’t do that this minute.

She sighed. She patted the remaining water off her body, wrapped the towel around her, and stepped through the door into the room. Emerson stood with a robe poised for her to slip her arms into as she exited the bathroom. She turned, slid one arm in, and then the other.

His strong hands moved the soft fabric onto her shoulders. He slid his palms down her upper arms and gave a squeeze as his breath warmed her neck. Her body betrayed her mind when it leaned into him. He skimmed the bare skin of her neck with his lips. Her knees went weak and her clit tingled.

“Olivia, you are a very sexy woman.” Her towel dropped to the floor.

“Mmmm,” she moaned softly. His words seeped into her, dissolving her resolve to wait until she’d broken up with Travis officially to do anything with Emerson.
