The Mystic Paradigm: An Evolutionary Novel

Forena was quiet as she looked at him for a moment. “The answers lie in your journey ahead. That is all I can reveal to you. Be patient, my dear Earth friend.”
Joshua didn’t know what to think. He looked into her eyes with frustration. His energy waved in and out of frequency. Layia struggled to keep him grounded. He then calmed himself and regained his composure. “I am happy with your presence here Forena. Thank you for appearing.”
The group was still. Talis was not sure what just went on with Joshua or what he should do.
Larus then turned and addressed Talis. “I have been a guide since before your uprising on Earth. I was a guide to your grandfather Markus. Now I am here to guide you.”
Talis understood his purpose clearly. He asked, “Where is it that we will go to see the mystics?”
“We will take you to a realm that is between this dimension and yours. This is where your mystics are. They are caught between what you symbolically refer to as heaven and earth, between the physical and the spirit worlds. Some of your shamans of the ancient teachings refer to it as the middle world, where ancestral and guiding spirits live. It is a close similarity, but it is somewhat different than that. You shall experience it for yourself and we will be with you.”
Talis, Joshua and Layia looked at each other, not knowing what to think. This was all new to them and they all were disoriented. They had to trust in these spirit guides. They really had no choice.
Talis again asked the logical questions, keeping his mind grounded on their task. “Is this why the energy field is weakening?”
Auria, silent until now, interjected gently. “We cannot tell you all of this place, you will need to experience it for yourself and connect with your mystics. With time you will understand. We are here to assist in your journey. Do not be fearful. The energy of the universe will guide you all.”
Chapter 19
On Earth
The portal area was quiet at the University as the mystics and scientists waited for the three travelers to return. Many of the mystics helped by keeping the energy field at a high level. The science team at the portal spent time testing and adjusting the energy field, making sure all was operating correctly. Marti was confident all had worked as planned. His only concern was getting the travelers back when the time came. Right now he would keep alert for any signal from them.
Tara, with her communication instruments, picked up on a small fluctuation of energy from the three in the other realm. Her device worked on some level. It showed they were there, but no communication as of yet.
She reported her findings to Marti and the team in the control room. “I am picking up three distinct energies in the other dimension. The levels show they are functioning normally. There are no distressing signs, but the signal is weak. I will try to adjust my program and communicate with them.”
“Thank you Tara,” Marti said to her. “Your vigilance is most welcome.”
She looked up briefly and acknowledged his polite remarks. “I want to help them as much as I can.”
“You are helping. This is an exciting time as we take science and spirituality one step closer to each other.”
Tara opened up to Marti with a puzzling question. “Do you think that the two can merge completely?”
Marti looked off into the inner chamber of the empty portal. “I think it is inevitable. As we evolve, the two will merge more and more. We have seen proof of that since the revolution haven’t we?”
Tara was quiet for some time as she thought about it all. Then she spoke. “I wonder if it’s what everyone wants or even understands?”
“What do you mean?” Marti asked.
“I have had many deep thoughts lately about our society. Something in me has opened up, like I am supposed to see things a bit differently. What I mean is this: some question the power of our individual actions, what we have done here on Earth versus what the spirit world and the mystics tell us. I have no problem with the two perspectives, but I know people who do not want us to put all of our faith into the energies of the spirit world.”
“But don’t you think that these energies are what we utilize and study as scientists? Don’t you think they ultimately are the same?”
“I don’t know,” Tara acknowledged. “Yes, I think they are on many levels, but again it is the belief in the power of our actions versus the power of faith in the spirit world that people question at times. What holds more power for our evolution: our actions, or our feelings and thoughts? I guess I just see it differently and have heard various ideas about it all, especially since the recent events have occurred.”
“And what are people saying?” Marti asked.
Tara was quiet and soft-spoken. “Just that some don’t like what we are doing with this project. They don’t think we should mess with these other realms in such a direct way. That we have all that we need to keep Earth stable just by what we do here on the physical plane.”
“Don’t you think that earth and spirit can work hand-in-hand?”
“Yes,” Tara said. “I just know that there are those that do not like it though and I feel this energy in others. It’s just something I am experiencing right now and I am not sure why.” Just then a slight signal came in from the travelers, interrupting the conversation. Tara put her focus into that as she didn’t have too much more to say.
“I’m still getting a signal from them. It seems they are moving into a new dimension. The signal is very faint. I need to work on this.”
“Keep me posted, please.” Marti knew they would have to continue this discussion later. He was perplexed that she had brought this up. He had also heard of the debate, but had brushed it off as just healthy dialogue. The tone in Tara’s voice seemed more focused and serious. He knew that she was one of the young people who had been affected by the reoccurring dreams. That is why she was working with him at the portal. Does she know something that we don’t? Marti thought. Maybe this was all tied to that. Being the curious scientist he was, he wanted to know more. Nevertheless, he knew there would be another time to talk. He got back to the tasks he was working on as they waited.
No one was sure what else they could do but be patient. Through minutes that seemed like hours, the science team kept busy, keeping their eyes on the controls and adjusting anything they felt needed attention. In truth it was out of tension more than anything essential to do. Marti paced back and forth as if in a type of prolonged walking meditation. He was still deep in thought over what Tara had just said. He needed to keep focused on his work, though. For now they would just stay positive and keep alert for assistance.
Jasmine and many of the seers at the University were in prayer and trance to see if they could help with the situation. Jasmine could sense all three in the dimension. She also could feel they were being assisted. The spirit messengers were all indicating that things were stable. All they could do was pray for the travelers and wait.
Jasmine also continued to sense a connection with Talis. They had briefly merged energy fields on two occasions. The higher energy coming from them had bonded them on some deeper level. She was not familiar with this and it felt a bit uncomfortable. She needed to discuss this with a Council member soon, as it was distracting to her work.

Jasmine went to see Breana, a healer on the Mystic Council. They met in the vibrant gardens of the University. Breana had studied tantric yoga and mysticism. She also was highly regarded with understanding relationships and the new philosophies concerning love with another. Jasmine was a very skilled and strong mystic, but she did not quite understand the emotional feelings that were occurring with Talis. They sat in a quiet atrium with large willow trees waving their branches in the wind.
Breana beckoned Jasmine to sit close to her on the cedar bench. “Come sit by me, Jasmine. Let us connect our energies.”
Jasmine came to Breana timidly and they joined hands.
“Ah yes, I see you have joined energy with your friend Talis. And he with yo
u. Your energies connected and became symbiotic. That is, your energies found a fondness for each other.”
Jasmine smiled in shyness, which was not like her normally confident self. “What does that mean for me, Breana? I have been at the University all my adult life. You are my family. My place is here as a mystic. I have never loved another like this.”
Breana looked at her with affection. “My dear Jasmine, we will always be your family. Your gifts as a mystic will not diminish. You are simply feeling human love for another. This is a very strong feeling you have for each other. As you know, love is one of the highest frequencies that we can experience. There is universal love, there is love for our society and world, and there is love for another. Love for another is a very powerful force. In our yoga practice we strive for union with the Divine Source, or Oneness with life. Tantric Yoga is a joy-driven path. We seek happiness and peace while living in this world. We seek freedom in this world through love.”
Jasmine contemplated this and tried to understand the joy she did feel when around Talis, like a breath of fresh air. “Is this feeling of love for Talis something I should follow and accept, then?”
Breana laughed in a most joyful manner and squeezed Jasmine’s hands. “If you feel love and it gives you joy, then it is a beautiful path to follow. The human heart is wonderful. Let go of the worry or the expectations; just let it be as it is. Surrender to the journey. Feel the joy and let it carry you. Your journey will unfold as it should. Now let us meditate on the power of love.”
Jasmine and Breana meditated in silence for quite some time, raising the vibration of love. Breathing in and out, Jasmine found a sense of peace and accepted this feeling. She could feel Talis in the other dimension and sent him love. Her vibration accelerated and for a few moments she was in a state of samadhi, of pure bliss, of divine union. Her heart and her spirit were connected with the Oneness of life. She smiled and let go.
Chapter 20
Journey to the Mystics
Talis and the others still lingered in the beautiful etheric temple. The spirit guides had left for a moment, sensing the travelers needed time to gather their thoughts. Joshua was distant and quiet. Layia was keeping them grounded. Talis knew that he needed to help.
Talis shared his thoughts to bring the group together. “I am grateful for the assistance of our guides. We must remember that we will have to make decisions regarding the lost mystics and the energy field. My sense is our guides are not able to do this for us.”
“The understanding that we were taught at the University,” Layia added, “is that our guides and teachers do not interfere in our journey or our decisions. This is part of the path we must take.”
Joshua looked at both with some uneasiness. “As we go deeper into this journey, we also may experience less individual functioning and more oneness. My body already feels light, and we can speak to each other by our thoughts. I certainly hope they can help us maintain our state of being on some level. I am slowly beginning to feel less connection with Earth and more connection with this dimension.”
Talis answered Joshua in a concerned tone. “Stay with us my friend! We need you clear and we want you to return with us. Our journey on Earth is not over yet. That is, I hope it isn’t.”
Within a few moments the three spirit guides appeared again.
Auria spoke. “I will not go on the continued journey, but will be here when you return. Larus and Forena will be with you as you go to the next level of the journey. We will all be here. Go with peace and bring the light to your lost mystics.” With that, she was gone.
Larus and Forena came close to the three young people and again took a more human form so that they could interact more clearly with them.
Larus spoke to them explaining the next stage of their journey. “We will enter a type of vortex when we travel. Our forms will be pure energy for a moment, but as we enter the dimensional space where your mystics are holding their energy, we will bring you all back to form. The mystics themselves will be of pure energy form, but not like yours.”
“How are they holding their energy?” Talis asked inquisitively.
“As we said before, your mystics have chosen to be an energy bridge between the earthly and spiritual dimensions. They are neither of those elements and they are both. This is somewhat similar to when certain earth spirits reside after their physical death.”
Talis wanted to understand more about the lost mystics. “They are a type of ghost? A type of lost or ancestral spirit?”
Larus looked at Talis intently and tried to explain. “They are not spirits caught like that. They are not ghosts, though it is similar. They are aware of where they are. They are aware of how they got there, yet they are still partially connected to the physical world. They, as souls, were not ready to make the journey to the pure spiritual world; it was not their time. Yet as they are in this realm, they chose to help the earth as a type of spirit guide or energy center to keep the balance for your people. They are a bridge for you, a type of gatekeeper.”
“What do you mean, not their time?” Talis kept pressing their guides. He wanted to know as much as possible. He was here to help the situation on Earth.
Larus and Forena were silent, looked at each other, then to the Earth travelers.
Forena spoke gently. “We cannot explain to you all that has occurred as it has no words to define it. There are various levels and dimensions of the spirit world. Each has a purpose and focus. We also need you to experience this realm by communicating to the mystics themselves. We cannot interfere in your souls’ journey on the earth plane, but we will guide you. This is where we are taking you. Be patient and you will learn more.”
And with those words, Talis, Joshua, Layia and the two guides began their journey toward the lost mystics. The temple chamber disappeared and they sensed a type of traveling. It was not quite moving, but rather a feeling of an intense energy shift. This was over in what seemed like a split second and then they were still.
They entered a different type of energy vortex. Perhaps it was another dimension, as Talis felt as if he was in a deep dream state. Multiple colors of energy bounced off endless space. He could see everyone, but their physical bodies and forms were very faint. Instead, their essence shined brightly, an eternal light shining within.
The three Earth travelers were all disoriented. Larus spoke to them, trying to help them stay calm. “Do not be afraid. Your energy has been transformed in this dimension. Your spirit or soul has a stronger presence than your body. This is a natural state of being in this place.”
Joshua looked a bit confused, but he spoke clearly. “I am feeling more disconnected from my physical body. I am feeling somewhat like this is where I belong.”
Layia concentrated her energy on Joshua. “Stay with us my friend. Ground your energy with me. I am still connected to the physical.” She concentrated her chakra energies on the earthly plane, keeping them all grounded as much as she could.
Joshua breathed and focused his energy on Layia. Her energy centers were pulsating. Clearly her physical energies, her lower chakras connected to the physical world, were strong. He concentrated on those energies and felt more balanced.
They saw several bright lights approaching them from a distance, although it was difficult to judge how far. The lights appeared to be getting brighter. Talis was not clear on what they were witnessing. He did not like mystery, but he knew he had to stay open to this otherworldly dimension.
Larus guided the three steadily toward the bright lights. “The energy of your lost mystics is near. You will understand when you connect with them.”
Suddenly two of the light energies broke from the group. Talis could not tell, but they seemed to be coming closer as the other energies stopped and waited. The light forms became brighter and larger. They approached the group and stopped within what seemed like a short distance. The lights were pulsating, flickering in and out of their sight. One of the forms came close to Talis. He froze, not know
ing what to do. He was alarmed, but reminded himself he was safe. The light surrounded him, like it was connecting with his energy. He could feel that it was an entity in some way, but he did not know what to think of it. He breathed deep and focused on being present. The light grew smaller and more intense, transforming into a form, not quite human, but with a familiar definition. It was glowing and emitting strong but gentle energies. For a long time everything was still. Forena and Larus stood in silence, seemingly in a deep trance or a suspended state of being. Layia and Joshua watched from nearby.
Talis then heard a voice speak to him. It was from the energy form.
“Greetings, my dear Talis. Your energy is so familiar. It has been so long since I have felt a human form. We have watched you and protected you from afar. You remind me of someone whom I loved on Earth and still love dearly. You know him as Markus Dueter, your grandfather.”
Talis couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Was this in his head? Was this an illusion? He knew that it was real. Could it truly be her?
“Are you Lillian?” he said with a slight hesitation.
The energy spoke gently. “Yes, I am what you know as Lillian.”
Talis and the others were transfixed on this special entity. They were not fearful, but somewhat overwhelmed. And although they knew that this connection might occur, they couldn’t totally believe they were here experiencing this amazing event. They all smiled at each other, their energies brightening with a feeling of oneness with these special beings.
“And we welcome all of you to this place,” Lillian said looking at each of the three. “We have been waiting. I have appeared in form as you know of me through your grandfather’s journals and your dreams. We have also been able to communicate with some of your seers.” She acknowledged the others. “The dreams have been our way of reaching out to you.”
