  I finished the brandy and went back to the flat, and showed the paper to Fiona. ‘Looks like you’re off the hook,’ she said.

  ‘Looks like we all are.’

  ‘You’d better take Judith home then,’ she said.

  ‘Yes, I’d better,’ I said, and I did.
