That's right, I'm married. Hitched. I did the one thing I never thought possible when I became a single father–I found the love of my life and we tied the knot. Taking a page from Kendall's best friend's wedding, we had a small intimate ceremony. Brody, Laura, Noah, and Skye were our only invited guests and we got married inside a small bakery in New York. I'd never stepped foot inside the bakery before our wedding day, but it's the place Kendall swears our destiny was aligned. It's the place where she met Noah and he gave her a job–the rest is history.
I cuddle up behind my wife and kiss her soft exposed neck. She sighs in her sleep so I slide my hands up from her stomach and squeeze her ample breasts. Her nipples harden in my palms as she wiggles her ass against my morning wood. I have to bite my bottom lip to suppress a groan.
"Good Morning," she says in a sultry whisper. Her arms reach out and stretch above her head, pushing her tits against the palms of my hands. My mouth leaves her neck and moves to her ear. I suck her earlobe between my lips before grazing my teeth along her flesh.
"I have to leave and meet Noah."
"No..." she whines. She twists around to face me and wraps her long arms around my neck. She looks at me with her piercing light eyes and begs, "Please don't leave. Our honeymoon can't be over yet."
After we said our vows we decided to honeymoon at home. Neither of us felt comfortable leaving Brody for an extended amount of time and if we stayed home we could save money and use it for something more practical. It might sound boring and unromantic to some people, but why would we spend money to go to some exotic location and never leave the bedroom? Instead, I spent countless hours every day in bed with my new wife and worshiped every inch of her body–over and over again. It was the best ten days of our lives. We have no regrets.
"I want nothing more than to stay in this bed with you–"
"So stay." She pouts convincingly as she wraps a hand around my hard cock and teases the head with her thumb.
Good Lord, that feels amazing.
"Baby, I have to go meet Noah. He asked for this meeting. I can't be late."
She pushes me onto my back and straddles my hips. Grinning at me mischievously, she leans down and brushes her lips over my chest in soft kisses.
"We still have one more day of our honeymoon. We're not supposed to go back to work until tomorrow." She slides her pussy along the underside of my dick, coating me with her wetness and I groan. I grind my hips in rhythm with hers. I know I have to leave but I can't help it. I can't say no to this woman.
I flip us around so she's on her back and she giggles. Leaning in I bite her lip. "You're a naughty girl, seducing me like this." My hands grip her thighs and I pull her to me. She wraps her long toned legs around my hips and I don't hesitate. I thrust inside her, filling her with my thick cock and she screams out in pleasure.
She's lucky Laura brought Brody to school a few hours ago.
"I'd rather have you than my vibrator. Is it wrong to want my husband to satisfy me every morning?" she asks as her head tilts back on the pillow and she closes her eyes in pleasure. I continue to pump inside her, working her over and over again as I try to hit her g-spot with every thrust. Her nails dig into my back as her mouth opens and she makes little noises of appreciation.
"Oh..."
"Agh..."
"Yes..."
"Yes..."
"Yes, fuck, yes!!!" she screams as I circle her clit with my thumb and push her orgasm over the edge. Her pussy tightens, squeezing my cock over and over again and I want to explode. I press my mouth to hers and swallow her sounds of pleasure as I come inside her–filling her with my seed.
We fall from euphoria together and try our best to catch our breaths. When she curls up beside me I kiss her softly, putting all the love I have for her in this kiss before pulling away. "I'm going to be late."
She winks at me knowingly. "Yeah, but it was totally worth it."
I completely agree. "You're always worth it. Since I no longer have time for a shower I get to smell you all over me for the next couple hours. I'll be motivated to get the meeting over with and rush back to be with you."
She kisses my chest and then whispers against my skin, "That was my plan all along."
I quickly get dressed and grab my wallet and keys before leaning back over our bed and kissing Kendall goodbye. "I love you. I'll see you this afternoon at Brody's practice. Do you want to bring him or should I pick him up after school?"
"I love you, Levi." She yawns before snuggling back under the sheets. "I'll bring Brody. I like it when we get time together just the two of us. It's our bonding time."
"Okay. I'll see you this afternoon at practice then, Mrs. Bryant."
She scrunches up her nose and smiles. "I love it when you call me that."

"You've been here several years and in those years you've become an asset to my security team. Hell, you're more than security. You help with different jobs around the bar and club and you never complain. How do you like working here? What are your future plans?"
When I stepped into Noah's office moments ago I could tell this meeting would be different. For one thing, I'm the only member of security in the meeting–it's just the two of us. Noah's casually dressed in jeans and a Mo Pop festival t-shirt instead of his work attire, which means he must have come in on a day off just to meet with me. It has me wondering why we couldn't have just done this meeting tomorrow when we're both back at work.
"I like it here, Noah. You're great to work for, the steady paycheck is nice, and getting to work with my wife is an added bonus. As far as the future goes I only see myself here. I'll work here as long as you'll have me."
He nods his head as he watches me intently. "I want to offer you something and it might seem out of the blue, but I assure you it's not. I want you to become my partner in Forbidden Desires."
Holy shit.
That's the last reason I thought he wanted a meeting with me.
"Fuck, Noah, that's a great offer but I can't possibly take you up on it."
"Why not?"
I open my mouth to answer, but he continues to talk. "I've been thinking about this for a while. Now that I have a baby, I want to spend more time at home with my family. Having a partner would help lighten the workload. You'd be done with security and basically be doing what I do each day, which is managing all these shitheads and hoping no one burns the place down.
"It's a win-win for us both. You'll own this place with me. You'll be walking into instant cash flow. If you don't believe me I can show you our books to prove it. This would give us both more time at home with our families and it's a way for me to step aside some of the time and not worry that the place will go under without me here. I could just make you management but as an owner, you'll have just as much pride as I do in the place. You'll have extra incentive for it not to fail."
What he's offering sounds great. All of a sudden I can envision a life in front of me that doesn't consist of living paycheck to paycheck and the guilt that I'm not at home most nights to spend time with Brody. Noah is offering me a way to be around more for my family.
It's too bad I can't afford to take it.
"What would something like this cost? I can't afford to buy into the company to become your partner."
He smirks. "It's not about money to me. Even with a partner I'll have more than I could ever spend. It will cost you one dollar to buy in and become my partner. If you don't have it I'm sure Kendall could spare four quarters."
"What?" I ask confused. I'm no dummy. Forbidden Desires is worth millions. The revenue he makes just on one night here is more than I make in a year. "Why would you do this for me? If you let it be known you are looking for a partner, investors will be lined up around the block willing to give you seven figures to help run this place."
He crosses his arms over his chest. "I don't want some suit giving me money for half this place but not caring about the people inside it or the quality of our services. The clientele
who come in here expect the best and we give it to them. The people who work for me are like family. I don't want my company to fall in the wrong hands and risk any of my employees losing their jobs.
"Like I said, Levi, I've been thinking about this for a while. I would have asked you six months ago, but I wanted to wait until you married Kendall and became an official part of my family. Kendall is family, and now so are you."
I feel all choked up. It's been a while since anyone has taken a chance on me.
Fuck, man. Hold it together.
"I don't know what to say."
"Say you'll be my partner and hand me over a fucking dollar bill. I'll talk to my lawyers and we can sign the paperwork next week."
I pull out my wallet and hand him the only Washington I have. "Thanks, Noah. This means..." I swallow hard, trying to hold my emotions back. I'm a grown ass man. The only person I let see this side of me is my wife, but it's hard to hold back tears when I finally see my hard work these past years paying off.
"Fuck," I whisper as I roll my neck and start bouncing on my feet, trying to gain back control of my betraying body. Noah just laughs. He knows enough about me to know this is a big moment for me. I move in, giving him a hug so brief it could barely be considered a hug, and then step back.
"Thank you, Noah. I won't let you down."
"There's one other condition."
I knew his offer was too good to be true, but at this point if his condition is to give him one of my kidneys I'll do it. "Anything, man. Just name it."
"Now that you'll be making more than enough to support your family, Kendall's got to go. I love her. She's like a little sister to me, but she's horrible at her job. She fucked up the times and dates of three of my meetings–that was just this week. The only reason she doesn't know about it yet is because I didn't want to bother her on your honeymoon. She can work here doing something else if she wants, but her days as my secretary are over."
I laugh, knowing all too well just how bad Kendall is at her job. I've wondered many times how she's managed to not get fired and always came to the same conclusion–Noah will never fire Skye's best friend. Well, I guess never is a strong word because the day has finally come. Noah is giving my wife the axe.
"Give me a heads up before you do it so I can do something nice for her when she comes home."
"You see that's the second part to this condition."
"What is?"
"Now that you're part owner, you need to fire your wife."

When I get to the field my team is taking batting practice. Our first base coach is feeding the ball through the pitching machine as the boys who aren't hitting are scattered out on the field to catch the hit balls. Brody is up at bat and I watch him hit several pitches. He swings with a perfect follow-through, but I can still point out those little areas that need some work. I guess that's the coach in me. I can always find areas that need improvement, no matter how good a player is.
I spot Kendall on the bleachers completely focused on Brody at the plate. As I approach her Brody hits a ball to left field, another to shortstop, and then a line drive to center field. The pitches stop coming and it's Brody's turn to step away from the plate and let another player take a turn hitting.
Surprising Kendall from behind, I wrap my arms around her waist and she squeals in shock. "Hey, baby," I whisper hungrily and she twists her head and gives me a kiss. When our lips part she hops off the bleachers to stand beside me.
"How did the meeting go with Noah? You were there a long time."
I cup her cheeks in my hands and kiss her. This kiss is longer than the first. Her mouth moves with mine tentatively before she gives in to the kiss and our tongues connect and it's perfect. When the kiss ends she whispers, "The meeting was that good, huh?"
"I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is Noah made me a partner in the club."
"Wait, what?" she asks shocked. It's obvious she knew nothing about this beforehand, which is good to know because a part of me wondered if Skye knew and told her.
I tell her everything about the meeting and the offer, trying not to leave out any details. She's excited for me, excited for us. We both know the stability this will offer us. We'll no longer have to pinch pennies to pay for Brody's school and baseball. We agreed a while back that we'd never touch her inheritance money because it's money from a man who abandoned his daughter and never regretted it. Things have been so tight lately. I know Kendall was considering taking money out of her inheritance account for the first time ever. I'm glad it didn't come down to that because the guilt she would have felt would have taken years to recover from.
"We should go out and celebrate after practice! Wait until you tell Brody. He'll be so proud of you. Oh, and now you're technically my boss." She winks and I know her mind is filled with dirty thoughts.
"There's one other thing, Kendall. This is where the bad news comes in."
"What is it?" she asks concerned.
There's no easy way to say this to her so I rip the bandage off and hope there is no blood. "You're fired."
Her eyes grow wide and she blinks several times as she looks at me in confusion. I wait for her to say something–anything! As each second passes I grow more worried. Then a smile slowly spreads across her face and she says something I never expect. "Oh, thank God!"
"You're not mad?" I ask shocked.
Dragging a hand through her long locks of hair she replies, "No. I'm relieved. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for that job. It gave me a lot of things over the years, including you, but I've been struggling to be happy there for a while. I've never been the kind of woman to stay put at a job for as long as I have at Forbidden Desires."
I look down at her and take her hands in mine. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"We needed the money. Our family will always come first and if I need to work somewhere so that bills get paid and Brody gets everything he deserves, then I'll do it."
"I think you're amazing," I confess as I lift her hands to my lips and kiss her knuckles. "Seriously, fucking perfect. Brody and I are so lucky to have you in our lives."
"I'm the lucky one."
"So what will you do now that you're unemployed?"
"Now I'll get to focus on being more of a mom to Brody. I want to spend time with him and be there with him for all the little things."
"What about you? You have to make time for you."
"I will. I'm going to take this time to figure out what I want to do and slowly make a career out of it. Whatever I decide, I want to make sure it doesn't interfere with my family. Please don't worry about me, Levi. I'm happy."
"I'm happy, too."
We stand there together and I hold her in my arms as we look out onto the field. Brody's catching behind the plate, prepared for when the player at bat swings and misses. I take this time to watch the boys play and enjoy the few moments I have left before I have to join them on the field and coach the rest of practice. Nights like these make all the hard times in my life worth it.
The next year...
Kendall
I didn't get a wink of sleep last night.
I'm nervous.
I can't remember the last time I was this nervous.
There were less butterflies flying around my stomach on my wedding day. It's not because of second thoughts or regrets. I've been waiting for this moment since I said, "I do," one year ago. I'm nervous because we're at a courthouse filled with scary judges, lawyers, criminals, officers, and people from the state. It's all so intimidating and impersonal knowing criminal cases are going on at the same time we're celebrating a new chapter in our lives. I'm just glad we're having a party at our new place after this is over.
"Is this really how you want to spend our wedding anniversary? It's not too late to ask our lawyer to postpone for another day."
I whack his shoulder and glare up at him. I sign and speak at the same time so Brody can be a part of our conversation. "Are you kidding? He
ll yes, this is how I want to spend our anniversary. It was a sign from God that our court hearing was assigned the same day as our one year anniversary. I can't think of a better gift you and Brody could give me."
Brody agrees. "Dad, this is a perfect day. Don't ruin it."
Brody is almost as nervous as I am. He's twelve, and at the age where it's not cool to show emotions of any kind–afraid it might make him look like a baby. He can't fool me, though. I watched him pull out four different outfits before he decided on the new suit his Uncle Noah bought him for the big day.
Before I went through the process of officially adopting Brody, we wanted to tell him the truth. He was old enough now, so Levi told him the story of his mother, his birth father, and how Levi adopted him after his mother died. It was a lot to process and an emotional few months. We had to allow Brody to go through his own process of acceptance. Once he did, I talked to him about wanting to adopt him as my own child. I love him and wanted to be his mother. I'm lucky because he wanted me to be his mother, too.
I'll never take the place of his birthmother, and we make a conscience effort to keep Torrance's spirit alive in our home. In a way, I feel like I know her, even though I never met her because she gave me the most precious gift–her son.
Five years ago I didn't want to be a wife or a mother. It was too much of a commitment. I didn't want to be tied down. Now I'm happier than I ever imagined I could be and it's because I'm the wife to the most amazing man in the world, and about to become a mother to the most incredible boy a mom could ever wish for.
As we wait anxiously for court to start I'm surprised when I see Skye–who happens to be seven months pregnant–approach us outside the courtroom. Noah trails behind her holding their one-year-old son.
