Handing her, her plate. I start plating the rest of the food. Jace comes storming in. “How many times do I need to tell you to yell to me and I’ll get the plates filled. Go sit down baby and eat.” he gives me kiss and a quick swat to the ass.
Giggling, I go sit at the table. Jace sets my plate in front of me with a huge glass of milk. “Eat it all and drink all the milk. After lunch, I want to take you somewhere. I have a gift for you.” he says with a smile.
I laugh and respond. “We can go to our room for your gift Jace. No need to go to a hotel.” he looks shocked then he laughs. “Wretch.” he says affectionately. “This is a different kind of gift. But we could do that too.” he says with a wink.
I laugh and start scarfing my food down. I couldn’t eat it fast enough. So, good I moan loudly. A sound Tessa mimics. Axel and Jace growl. We laugh between bites. “Down boys.” I tell them. Once it was all gone Jace takes my plate and gives me a kiss.
“You ready sweetheart?” he asks quietly. “Oh yeah, I tell him.” I watch his eyes dilate slightly. He shakes his head. “None of that now.” he says firmly but I could hear the sadness mixed in. We take the bike. Something I won’t be able to do much longer.
Pulling up to this beautiful house. I frown at him when we stop in front of the doors. Why are we here? I don’t know anyone who lives out here. I look at it again. Taking in the tan siding and the green door. It was two stories and it looked like no one was home.
Jace takes my hand and practically drags me up the steps. Pulling a set of keys. He puts one into the lock and turns it. The door swings open. The first thing I see is an open foyer with a beautiful staircase. He smiles at me, pulling me into the house.
I look around it was empty. Jace put the keys into my hand. I look at them, then at him in question. A puppy comes running down the stairs. The cutest puppy I have ever seen. With its big paws and brown, black, white fluffy fur.
I kneel down and the puppy licks my face. I let out a laugh. “What’s her or his name?” I ask him. “She doesn’t have one sweetheart. You need to give her one.” I look up at him in shock. “The puppy and house is ours baby. Happy birthday.” he says with a huge smile.
I jump up and throw myself into his arms. “Careful baby. We both need to take it easy.” He says firmly but his smile ruins it a bit. I kiss his face all over. “I love you!” I tell him over and over again. He takes me through the house. When we walk into the fourth room, he gives me a look.
“We need to fill these up.” He says with his eyebrows wagging. “Let’s have this one first.” I tell him with a laugh. I loved the master bedroom. The floor to ceiling windows were amazing. When he took me into the kitchen I about orgasmed.
It was the best room in the house. “This room and the master bedroom was what sold me on it.” He tells me. “When did you do this. You have practically been glued to me these last few weeks.” I ask him. “I did it before I left. Along with the puppy. I wanted you to be taken care of sweetheart.” He tells me quietly.
If I could have fallen any further in love with him, I would have. “You will need to go buy all the stuff to fill the house. I wanted to leave that for you. I have all the money you need to do it baby.” he tells me.
I don’t want to leave our little puppy here. Jesse was on his way to pick her up. I smile at Jace as he straps my helmet on. The only damper on the last few weeks has been the person sending me all that stuff.
Sighing, I hold Jace tighter. I just wanted it to stop. Hopefully moving will help. Jace has been angry about it all. Honestly, I’m surprised we took the bike today the combination of his wound that was almost healed up and the stalker. Well, he’s been like a bear with a thorn in his foot.
Closing my eyes, I enjoy the ride back. Well, I was enjoying it. I hear a pop, pop, pop coupled by roars of other motorcycles. I feel Jace tense. Opening my eyes, I realize we’re surrounded there were at least six.
Jace slows down and pulls over. I can feel how much it’s killing him to do so. The other bikes follow suit. A car pulls up in front of us. A black Mercedes. I watch the door open and a foot appear. The man that exits the car has me gasping in shock.
It was Brian. The owner of All good foods. A little grocery store I love to go to. There was a gun pressed to my head. The helmet kept it from physically touching me. Jace had five pointed at him. “Get the fuck off the bike or your old lady gets it.” An overweight man says. I look at them. They’re not wearing cuts.
This was bad. Very bad. There are rules that all the clubs follow. These men don’t have to follow them. Jace climbs off the bike trying to stay close to me. I feel the gun nudge against my helmet. Jace presses up against me. I reach for his gun. Slipping it into my black down vest. I feel Jace tense and relax slightly.
I wasn’t sure if we were going to walk away from this. But I wasn’t going down without a fight. I could feel Jace struggling with the knowledge he couldn’t save us. Brian walks up with a smile on his face. “Hello Ella. Did you like my little gifts?” He asks.
I feel sick. I absolutely refuse to respond. I haven’t been into the store in a few weeks the baby was not something he would know about. I hope that helps us a little. The overweight smelly guy pulls Jace away from me.
“Let’s take a walk.” The man holding a gun to my head pushes. I swing a leg over the bike and get off it slowly. Another man grabs my arm and starts walking me in the woods behind Jace. I need to be strong. If I break down I won’t be helping Jace. I would be a hindrance. Think of the baby Ella. That’s your priority.
I stumble slightly on a root. I got a good look behind us. The road was disappearing rapidly. The safety it provided was becoming less and less. Our chances were slimming. Jace was in front of me. I had a very good idea what was about to happen.
Judging by his posture he did too. “Stop.” Brian says loudly. “You boys take care of him. Ella will be coming with me.” He smiles at me and I shudder in disgust. Jace has turned slightly. His eyes are sad. “I love you, ” he mouths to me.
Tears well in my eyes, but I force them back. “I love you. Forever and always.” I mouth back. Brain grabs my arm and starts pulling me away. The man on the left side of Jace nudges his head with the gun. They were going to kill him.
I was helpless to stop it. I needed to worry about our child. Surviving is a must. As much as I want to lie down here and die with him. I can’t. The further we get away from them the harder this is. After a few moments, I hear the first shot.
Then they kept coming. I dropped all my weight. Going limp. Brain swears in frustration. He’s gone. This time he’s gone for good. Brian let go of my arm. He decided to wrap his hand into my hair and drag me.
Wrapping both my hands around his wrist’s I hold on for the life of my hair. Closing my eyes, I feel the tears spill over. Jace was gone. Flashbacks of us over the years appear behind my closed eyes. Jace as a boy, maybe four his smile was huge.
Laughter as our feet echoed on the floor of the clubhouse when we were six. That was before his mom died. Jace was my best friend at the time. I think I loved him even then. After his mom died, I watched him become more and more subdued. Colder.
The spark of the boy I once knew was going away slowly. After all these years, I finally had him. I had Jace. He was gone now. I fight back the sobs. This was killing me. With the thoughts of him on my mind. I feel clarity hit like a freight train.
Coming back to myself, I feel the twigs and stones dig into my back as I was dragged across the forest floor. He wasn’t taking me from here. I would rather die than go where he wants us to go. I know what comes next and I refuse for that to happen to me.
Jace died knowing my fate and I refuse to allow him to see it happen. I want him to be proud. I needed to survive for our child. I dig my nails into his wrist. Brian spits out another string of curses. But let’s go of my hair.
“Get up Ella.” He says coldly. I give him a smile and shake my head no. “Get the fuck up.” He screams at me. Again, I shake my
head no. I get into the kneeling position. I felt it shift under my vest. The puffy material has hidden its shape.
Jace wanted me to survive this and I refuse to allow this sick asshole to keep me from my goal. I honestly believe Jace would have survived that with his gun. I know it sounds crazy, but I’ve seen him in action a few times.
The thought of his sacrifice has pain shooting through me. This is my fault. I did this. “Ella” Brian snaps. No, he did this. It was his fault. Only one of us was leaving here and it wasn’t him. Those men would be headed this way soon. It’s only been a minute or two since the last shoot was fired.
Brian jumps on me, I hit my back hard. My knees lifted as he tried to land on me he took them to the gut. He rolls to the side. Briefly then tries again. He was trying to overpower me. Not really giving me the chance to get the gun.
After a few slaps from him and a few bites from me. He was on me. He had my lower half pinned to the ground. I watch his eyes dilate. He was getting hard. My stomach revolted at the thought. One of my hands were still in the vest the other I kept on the ground.
I wrap my hand around the cold metal of Jace's. .45 Ruger. I slowly pull it free. Brian thinks he has won some sort of victory. I feel a smile grace my lips. “I see you understand now Ella. I’m glad you have come to your senses.” He tells me affectionately.
Oh, no I wasn’t giving up. I smile in victory I was going to kill this asshole. He leans in for a kiss. Right before his lips touch mine, my empty hand comes up and grabs his hair pulling it hard. Forcing his head back.
Pulling the gun from under my vest I place it under his chin and pull the trigger. I said nothing. I just put the bullet in his head. Something slithered along my subconscious. It felt good. I feel it lock into place. The real me, I realize.
The woman I was always meant to be. The killer I was born to be. I felt almost complete. My eyes close in pain. I would always only be almost complete. My other half was gone. My soul mate died here in this place where the new Ella was born.
I needed to get out of here. Brian was heavy in death. I try to scoot out from under him. Pushing him didn’t work. I hear twigs snap. Coming from behind me. I push with my feet. All my will into the move. I need to get out from under him.
With hard won determination, I was free. I could still hear whoever it was coming. I stand and run for the biggest tree I could find. I would have made a beeline for the road. But I know I’ll never make it. Removing the clip, I check to see how much ammo I have.
Slipping it back into the gun I load one into the chamber. I was lucky Jace liked to keep a full clip. Still had nine bullets. The one in the chamber was the one I used to kill Brian. Pulling back, I load another into the chamber as quietly as I could.
The sounds were getting closer. Too close. I sure as fuck didn’t survive Brian to die by some overweight bikers in much need of a shower. The feel of his gun in my hand felt natural. I think I might have to put Jace’s array of weapons into use.
I know how much he loved his guns. I think almost as much as me. I almost snort at that. Some humor at this time is not a good idea. Later, after I got home and grieved. Then I could picture him loving those weapons.
Whoever it was, was standing where Brian was lying dead. Yeah, it wasn’t a pretty sight. Sure, the hole was small going in. But going out took most of Brains head with it. Counting to ten I step out from behind the tree.
The man had his back to me. I look at his back for a moment. He was wearing Jace’s cut. Anger and devastation roll through me. How the fuck dare he wear that? Before he could move I had the gun pressed to the back of his head.
“Take it the fuck off!” Not even a twitch in response. “I said take it the fuck off NOW!”
My finger twitched on the trigger. His hands are raised up. I notice his knuckles. More so what was written on his knuckles. Hate. That one simple tattoo had me dropping the gun to my side with a sob. “Ella” Jace says. Then he was turning and catching me before I hit the ground.
He was alive. He was alive? How the fuck did he survive that? “It’s okay sweetheart, I took care of them all. No one left to come after us.” He reaches for the gun. I follow his hand and realize I still had it. I wasn’t sure I wanted to give it up.
My hand tightened around it. No, I didn’t want to give it up. Jace's hands switch direction and then he’s cupping my face. “It’s okay Baby you can keep it. I’m so fucking proud of you baby.” he says while pressing his lips to mine.
It was over. It was finally all over. I feel one of his hands leave my face and press gently into my lower stomach. “We’re okay.” I tell him quietly. Then I’m being pushed to the ground as Jace pulls a gun from behind him. Pointing it in the direction my back had been facing.
I hear barking, then Juliet was on us. Her name just popped into my head. My Romeo had gotten her for me. Seems fitting. Jace relaxed slightly only to stiffen again as Jesse came running up behind her. “Shit man you okay? Ella?” Jesse asks in a panic.
Tilting my head back, I look at him. Jace still had me pinned to the ground. “It’s over Jesse I got him.” I tell him, pointing in the direction Brian was. He follows my finger with his eyes. I watch them widen in surprise. “It was Brain Jesse.” I tell him while nodding my head.
I kind of felt like a bobble head. This has a giggle erupting from me. Both of them look at me with concern. Jace leans over and kisses me. I sigh and close my eyes. “Happy Birthday to me.” I sing. Jesse calls it in to Axel. A cleanup crew was promised.
Jesse drove Jace's bike back. I had a little problem with keeping my eyes open and Jace didn’t want to be away from me. So, we took Tessa’s car back. Sleep swallowed me instantly. Killing was hard work.
Epilogue
A little over six months later
“You’re going to be a little trouble maker. Just like your daddy.” Jace whispers to our son Jacob. “You’re going to write on the walls, track mud into the house, make big messes, and make a mess in mommy’s kitchen.”
Opening my eyes, I look at them both. “Keep the mess out of my kitchen.” I growl. Jace just laughs and holds our son closer. “When do we get to hold him?” Tessa asks. Jace looks up at them with a frown.
Yeah, seems we’re having a little problem with Jace sharing our son. No one has even gotten close to him. Not even a peek. Jace has sequestered him to one side of the room and shoots glares promising death and possible missing body parts at them. Thus, all of them staying over on the other side.
I laugh. This earns me a glare from Tessa. Axel wraps his arm around Tessa’s shoulder and kisses her forehead. “It’s okay baby. Seems he won’t even let Ella have him.” Axel the ass laughs. Everyone joins in.
I glare at them all. He has to give him to me eventually. I was his food source. Jace has turned his focus back onto our son. They’re all lucky I’m so tired, who knew having a baby took everything out of you. “Can’t wait to give you a sister or a brother to play with.” Jace whispers to him.
“Oh no. you come near me with that thing I’ll take it.” I growl at him. “The baby factory is closed. “Jace looks at me with a smile. “We’ll see,” he replies with a smile.
Livie, Brandon’s old lady laughs from her spot in the corner. “Yeah live it up” I tell her. “Your next.” I point to her rounded tummy. Brandon smiles proudly and I laugh when I see the horror on her face. Yeah, you think about that I tell her. Well, I say it in my head, but still.
My eyes close and I lose the fight to stay awake. But I go to sleep knowing all was right in my world. My life was finally complete. Although not perfect. Because let’s face it perfect was boring and boring sucks.
The End.
Spaghetti sauce from the gods.
1lbs ground beef
Tabasco sauce
Worcestershire sauce
I 14oz plain tomato sauce
14oz fire roasted tomatoes
1 stick pepperoni
½ cup of your favorite beer. (I use bud lite)
> 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
2-3 tablespoons of dried Basil
Salt and pepper
sautéed bell peppers and onions (optional)
In non-stick frying pan, cook beef and garlic, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Chop the pepperoni up and fry in a separate pan until it has what looks like a bubble under it. Open both cans of tomato products. Drain cooked beef. Put back into pan and add a few splashes of Tabasco sauce and a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce mix while cooking. Add beer and let simmer. Mixing it well then pour in tomato products. Stir, then add basil, and cooked pepperoni. But make sure to drain the pepperoni of its grease first. In a separate pan sauté the peppers and onions in a little butter. Mix into sauce. Let simmer on low, stirring frequently until it thickens to your desired consistency.
Oven Roasted Herb Potatoes and Lemon Herb Chicken
As much chicken as you desire.
As many potatoes as you needed (I cut and put into the pan, then decide how many more I need.)
Dill weed dry
Thyme, dry
Oregano dry
Lemon juice (bottled)
Your favorite olive oil
A little garlic powder for the chicken
Salt and pepper
1 Ziploc bag
Place chicken breast (I prefer boneless) into bag, add 3-4 tablespoons for every pound of chicken, add a tablespoon or two of olive oil to each pound. Sprinkle a few tsp of garlic powder in the bag, add a tsp of salt and pepper into the bag. Add dill weed and Thyme and a tsp of oregano (as much as you want really) mix together and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight (depends on how much you like the lemon flavor the longer it sits the more it will taste like it.)
Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Rinse the potatoes and cut them the long way, then again to each half. Then slice those halves in half horizontally.
Line your baking sheet with foil and spray with no stick spray. Place the potatoes in the pan. Drizzle with oil. Cook for twenty minutes, stir and add more oil until coated nice and evenly. Put back into the oven. Cook until cooked all the way through making sure to flip the potatoes over every so often. When they're done, sprinkle with Dill weed and Thyme. Be sure to stir the potatoes after so all of them are coated with the herbs.
