  Prologue

I can’t believe my parents are making us move to the ‘White Timber Pack’, my mom

mentioned it would do me some good to be with other people my age who are shifters, instead of

being in the city, where we can’t shift because people would freak.

Also because my aunt is pregnant and ready to pop any day now, my mother wants to be

there to help her. But it’s not the city I’ll miss, no the city is loud and the smells are horrible, it’s my best friend Tori, were like sisters, glued to each other and we haven’t gone a day without seeing

each other since we have become friends, and now my parents are taking me away from her.

Tori shows up at my house, with a huge smile on her face, she frowns when she sees tears

  misting in my eyes.

“What’s wrong Elizabeth?” her voice unsteady as she looks around the house and notices

moving boxes in the hallway, her eyes widen as her eyes shoot back to mine.

“No, please tell me you’re moving down the street closer to me,” she tries to play it off as a

joke, she lightly smiles at me. Shaking my head her smile drops and her hand goes to her mouth as

  she gasps.

“When are you leaving?” she asks her voice cracking some as she holds back the sob

threaten to spill out of her mouth.

“My mom and dad mentioned were leaving this weekend,” closing my eyes, having a hard

time looking at my best friend in the face as my heart breaks.

Tori wrap her arms around me, holding me tightly against her as we both sob into each

other’s shoulders, “I will visit as much as I can… were best friends, forever and…” she whispers in my ear, closing my eyes tight as the tears break through my eyelids running down my face.

“Always…” my voice breaking as my hold on her increases, never wanting to let her go, she’s

  my best friend…My sister.

  Chapter 1

It’s sunny outside, the sun blinding me as I stare up at our new home; I can’t believe we had

to move here. I wish I could have stayed in the city with Tori. About a week ago my parent’s had

decided to move closer to my aunt Elma, who is seven months pregnant with a pup. Yes, you read

correctly. My aunt is a werewolf and so is her husband, Garrett. My parents, well my mother, Sarah

is a werewolf also but my father, Roman is human. This makes me a half breed. I’m the only half

breed my parents know of that is able to shift. My wolf is solid white.

My parents say I’m unique. I’m not sure what they’re talking about but anyways I am happy

that I’m able to shift because when I shift I feel so free. One thing I don’t like about being a werewolf is we mate for life. My mother tells me that when I meet my mate it will be like fireworks going off inside my body and that I will know right away.

I’m not looking for a mate. Like, come on. I’m only seventeen years old. I will be eighteen in

two weeks, but still, I think it’s a little young to have a mate. It’s different for the females and males when finding a mate.

A male is older when he finds out who his mate is. A female wakes up on her eighteenth

  birthday, just knowing.

I’m dreading my birthday just for that fact alone. I can’t remember exactly everything my

mother told me about mating. I didn’t pay attention. My parents named me Elizabeth but everyone

has always called me Liz. Well, my parents call me Elizabeth. They said they named me Elizabeth for

a reason, not Liz. My friends always called me Liz. Well they did, but now that we’ve left, I don’t have anyone.

I still talk to my best friend Tori. If I didn’t she would kick my ass. She’s the only
person from

my old life that knows I’m a wolf. She’s like my sister and it almost broke me to leave her there, but she had made it a little easier when she mentioned that she’s going to come down to see me, I just

hope it doesn’t take months for her to come visit.

  R a v i s h i n g E l i z a b e t h ‘ W h i t e T i m b e r P a c k ’

I was named after my grandmother; my father’s mother. I had never met her. She and my

grandfather had died when my father was only eighteen. Some drunk driver had run a red light and

hit them. They’d both died almost instantly. I don’t know all the details of the accident; my father doesn’t like to talk about it.

It feels weird living on pack land, but at the same time, I feel so alive here. We had lived in

the city before, close to my father’s law firm, but now that my aunt needed my mother’s help, my

father had decided to take some time off work and set something up closer to the pack.

My Uncle Garrett is Beta of the pack. That means second in command or something like

that. I don't really know how the whole pack thing works. My mother says that this move will do me

some good for me but I’m not so sure. I feel something here but I don’t know what it is. What I do

know is there’s freedom here. I have tons of freedom to run and not be worried about being caught

by a human. When we were living in the city, we didn’t shift, ever. We only shifted when we went

away on camping weekends, but here we can shift whenever we want. We don’t have to worry

  about humans seeing us.

I’m itching to go for a run. My mother had told me that there’s a river not too far from the

house and I can’t wait to check it out. Maybe take a dip in the water. It’s crazy hot out today. My

parents step through the front door of the house and start walking towards me. My father makes it

to my side and reaches out, giving me a hug.

"How are you feeling sweetheart?" I tilt my head to look up at my father and smile.

"Oh, I'm fine, daddy. I’m just itching to go for a run. It’s been so long since I’ve had a chance to shift. My wolf’s getting antsy.” I look up at him hopefully “Is there enough time before supper for me to get a run in?"

My mother looks over at me and smiles like she knows I need to let my wolf out to play.

“You have plenty of time. Go relax. You might even make some new friends".

I can’t hold back my grin. "Thanks, mom, love you both and I’ll be back soon."

"Love you too, sweetheart," my father says as he holds my mother to his side.

“Love you too, Elizabeth,” my mother calls out as I run towards the woods. “And

  remember, supper is at 6."

I’m sitting in my father's office, trying to concentrate on what he’s telling me. Apparently,

there’s a new family that’s just moved here. Elma, the mate of our pack Beta, had asked my father

for permission for her sister and her family to move here on pack land, to help her with the new pup that will be here within a month’s time.

My father is Alpha of our pack. One day that position will be passed to me, whenever my

father steps down. It’s a huge responsibility but I’ve been groomed for this my whole life. I won’t let my father down when the time comes.

"Caleb, I would like you to go over to the Mason’s and welcome them to our pack. You have

to be more involved with pack matters. You’re twenty-three years old. It’s time you started taking

on more responsibility. You also need to start looking for a mate."

My head snaps up and I look at my father, scrambling to figure out what to tell him. I’m not

sure if I should tell him that I’ve been seeing Kelly. Kelly and I have been hanging out a lot lately.

Actually, we’ve been together for about five months now. We have slept together but I’ve never

marked her, so we’re not mated fully.

Kelly has been asking me when I will mark her as mine, and I really don't know why I haven’t

yet. It’s just never felt right. But now, seeing as we’re getting more serious and my father is

pressuring me to find a mate, I know it’s time to bite the bullet and mark her. I don’t even know if I have a mate out there. Maybe I don’t. Regardless, with my father wanting me to take over when he

steps down, it’s better to be a mated pair. We need a Luna.

"Father, I’ve been seeing Kelly for a while now. It's starting to get serious with us and I was thinking of taking her as my mate. I doubt I’ll ever find my true mate. You and mom were lucky to

find each other. We both know how rare it is for true mates to find each other. I really care for Kelly and at this point, I think it’d be best just to move on and stop thinking about true mates when I have an amazing girl that wants me."

  My father smirks.

"If that is what you want, you have my permission to mate with Kelly. We’ll announce it

together tonight during supper at pack house."

Smelling the fresh water from the river and all the flowers, my senses are on overload with

the smells of nature. Feeling the soil under my paws is amazing. When my parents and I would go

camping on the weekends, I always loved shifting and smelling the flowers. I loved all the smells of the forest.

I shift back to my human form and grab my clothes out of the bag that I had wrapped

around my neck. I am just finished getting dressed when I hear something approaching. I’m not sure

who or what it is, so I’m on high alert. Even in my human form I have excellent hearing. I guess you can say it’s the perks of being unique. When in my human form I have all the same abilities as when

  I’m in wolf form.

I look through the trees to see what made that noise just as a human man steps into view

and walks towards the river. A closer inspection shows that it’s a guy around my age or a little older.

He cocks his head to the side and sniffs the air, before looking over towards me. He’s a shifter.

A smile spreads across his face as he moves towards me. I try to swallow the lump in my

throat as he approaches my heart running as he’s closing in on my location. I'm nervous because I

never met anyone around my age that’s a shifter. He’s tall and I can’t help but notice the muscles

bulging underneath his shirt. His hair is brown, and as soon as he’s close enough, I can see that his eyes are a forest green color. He’s handsome.

  He holds his hand out.

“Well hello, there beautiful. My name is Ryan. Ryan Jackson.”

I just stand there blinking up at him while he waits for me to take his hand. I must look like

an idiot. Jeez, snap out of, Elizabeth. I reach out a trembling hand and take his in mine, unable to miss the warmth from his touch.

I might consider a mate if all the males look like him. Wow. True mates are so hard to find,

and it’s hard to say if I even have one. I am a half breed, after all. True mate or not my wolf, Aura, seems to love the attention we’re getting from this Ryan guy. I look up at his face and feel breathless from the lust I see in his eyes.

“He's staring at us Elizabeth,” Aura says in my mind.

  R a v i s h i n g E l i z a b e t h ‘ W h i t e T i m b e r P a c k ’

I roll my eyes mentally at her.

“I can see that now hush. I have to talk to him and not sound like an idiot.”

“Hi, my name is Elizabeth Mason. My parents and I just moved here from the city to help

my aunt Elma. She's mates with the Beta of The White Ti
mber Pack.” Just then I realize that he’d

said his last name was Jackson.

"Wait, did you say your last name is Jackson. As in Alpha Jackson's son?”

A smile lifts the corner of his mouth.

“Yes, that would be me, but I’m not next in line to be Alpha. That would be my older

  brother, Caleb."

I walk over and sit down on a log that’s lying next to the river. Ryan follows and takes a seat

beside me. The nearness of his body causes my skin to flush and I know I’m likely blushing. I’ve never felt anything like this before. The butterflies fluttering in my stomach right now from him giving me this unknown attention, I’m not used to it, mostly because no guy has ever shown an interest in me

  before.

“What are you doing out here all by yourself, Elizabeth? Don't you know that the big bad

wolf is out there?” he asks with a chuckle.

I turn and take in the sexy smirk on his face. My cheeks flame. God, I feel stupid. He's just a

  guy, Elizabeth! Come on.

“Well, you can call me Liz. Everyone else does, except my parents. They stick with

  Elizabeth."

He smiles, giving me a crooked grin.

“Well, I think Elizabeth is a beautiful name." I bite my lip, unsure how to respond to that.

"So, Elizabeth, how old are you? I don’t see a mating mark so I’m assuming you haven’t

  found a mate yet."

“I'm seventeen. I’ll be eighteen in two weeks, and to answer your question no, I’m not

mated. I’m actually new to this whole pack thing.” I cast a shy smile at him and keep talking.

“We used to live in the city and I’ve never really been around other shifters before, except

my mother. I came to visit my aunt once when I was around seven years old, but I never left the

house. What about you? How old are you and are you mated?”

Ryan grins, his eyes locked on mine. “Well, I'm twenty, and I’m not mated either. I actually

just got back from my uncle’s pack today. I was there for a year training, and helping him with things that needed to be done."
